The room was really small for one parent and two teenagers. At the time of booking I felt the room should be ok as we were to arrive very late and leave early the next day. They didn't have any rolling cots so it was a difficult adjustment to sleep three in the room. Not worth the hassle.

I was in room 239, back of the property. If you want to sleep at night do not be in this room. Interstate 5 is right behind and there’s traffic noice all night long. Also while there are curtains on the window it does not block out the 3 night lights that are right outside the room. Both nights there was an ongoing argument between a couple staying a couple doors down. They would start yelling at each other around 2 am and continuing for 30 minutes or so. The heater didn’t work which I needed since the sheets and blanket was so thin. The room is tired , there is a large crack in the sheet rock by the door, it looked like someone tried to break in at one time. When I was leaving there was a gentleman trying to get in his room , he appeared to either just get out of jail or had spent the night doing some serious drinking. Very incoherent. Would not recommend this place unless you were assigned a room up front and not in the back.

Reasonably priced room. Nothing fancy, just the basics. Heater didn’t work, but really didn’t need it. Walls were thin, and I could hear the room below me. It would be nicer if the vent in the bathroom could be cleaned!

Great location, great price, it's a motel 6 so don't expect five star accommodations. This is probably one of the better motel 6's. There's a restaurant next-door. It's walking distance to the beach and the grocery store. It has a pool. The rooms are clean enough and in ok condition. The property itself is a little rundown and could use an upgrade. For the price and location in Carlsbad it's a good value. The only issue that I had was the motel has a central vent system. You're not supposed to smoke in the rooms but people do so I woke up every morning to the smell of weed in my bedroom and had to open the door.

This destination is right off Interstate 5 in beautiful Carlsbad. Prices compare favorably. The beach, a shopping center and the train station are all nearby. The Flower Fields, Legoland and the outlet stores are within easy driving distance. Most of all, the staff make this place, which says a lot about the management. They are courteous, helpful and efficient. Enjoy your stay here. Take a walk in the fresh ocean air!

This is a badly maintained property at this time...at least from the condition of my room. Primarily first wascit was completely missing a smoke detector/alarm. Its a State law to have a working smoke detector in every hotel room..and this one had been removed! Besides that, there was not an operating air conditioner. It just blew warm air in even the coolest setting. The bath sink faucet was not angled properly..or pressure too high..even lowest opening sprayed water all over you! Plus it seems to attract noisy customers..at least in the section I was put in.

I have stayed here in the past and have not had any issues. On this last visit, everything went well. The room was clean, the surrounding area seemed safe, and the staff were friendly.

Bates hotel would have been a step up. Room smelled like dirty undies, sticky floor, appliances didn’t work. Sidewalk had what looked like blood smears. No AC, vending machines rip you off. Creepy people hanging out in the parking lot. Don’t do it!
