We were looking forward to seeing the renovated motel. The Front desk clerk was pleasant. The room had plantation shutters and the mattress was comfortable. there was soap and a one time use shampoo/conditioner available. We were on the first floor and we had a small peek of the ocean which was nice. There is a gym with what looked like nice equipment,( we didnt use), hand towels and a water filling station ( which we used). The downside: The front door had a 2 inch gap on the bottom which we stuffed with a towel . There were coffee stains (?) on one side of the bottom sheet and possibly blood (?)splatter stains on the underside of the top coverlet. PLEASE throw these out, they should NOT be in use for guests. The microwave could be cleaner and the inside back had a burned plastic area. The walls are thin and the guests that checked in next door were loud. Turning on the air conditioning/heater muted the conversation so that we could sleep. We looked forward to having the breakfast, but, sadly, the eggs were tasteless and a funny texture, the potatoes looked grayish, and the very thin bacon slices were tasty but had a waxed paper texture. There were 3 tureens of gravy behind the eggs/bacon, and my husband hoped to put some on the biscuit, but the attendant said the gravy was not for today. We truly wanted to give a better review, but could not this time around.

The location is very applicable to to getting to Hearst Castle. The room was roomy and the bed comfy. The staff from top to bottom need training in customer service, it's apparent for the manager had to be called evertime the questions were asked at home for a decission. As guests we were accomadated only when we preadured them. Why were my boots removed from my room? Why did the manager not no where my missing were? Why did I need to go ask the cleaning staff where possibly were my boots? Didn't they put us or even ask if we would like a Icean front room? When we saw they gad availabilty? The shutters were not attended to allowing sunlight to awake us in the first room. So when looking at this, Motel Six is just down the road.Expedia does the best by me, yet this BWestern Surestay needs help, Expedially.

Room was clean. Manager was responsive. Breakfast had potatoes, bacon, scrambled eggs, bagels, muffins, cereal, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee. Not the freshest, but perfectly fine for a motel. Thank you!

Old place however few aspects have been remodeled like beds and TV. Inside the room was basic and clean. Has a small patio with couple of chairs. Breakfast was good with few warm choices as well like mashed potatoes, roasted sweet potatoes, and scrambled eggs.

The place was nice and spacious. However the bathtub was clogged up but was fixed when we brought it up. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was not good. They had expired milk out, when we broughr it up they put it back in the refrigerator.a lady tild us they told the the staff it was expired the day before, the tosster kept tripping ehrn using both toasters at the s time, the lady restocking the food grabbed the trash to put it out, did not wash her hands and restocked the bread with no gloves. No gloves were worn when handling the food.

We went to Hearst Castle you couldn't beat the price. It included breakfast. Just a couple miles from downtown Cambria. I thought it was a great deal.

It was beautiful. View was amazing, the power did go out for a while, but they got it back on after quite a few hours. Staff was excellent. The lady who served the food was very pleasant and the front desk gentleman was superb. We will be back

Nice quiet room with a view of the ocean. Only suggestion is a mat for the tub would be advisable as the tub floor is very slippery.

Room next to us was full of filth like if someone homeless was living there. Patio full of crap along a car parked directly in front full of crap as well. The walls are thin in hallway you can hear people talk pretty clearly. The A/C unit was directly in front of one of the beds and blew directly onto you, had to lay down with head on foot area and feet on headboard area. Vents couldn’t be moved much to direct air away. Breakfast was ok the eggs where very soggy though. Wouldn’t recommend

Unfortunately parts of the room were very dirty, especially the terrace so we couldn't use it. It's within walking distance to a beach. Breakfast was basic but typical for America and of course on plastic paper.

Room was great and obviously updated. Nice bed, great large ring light mirror and clean. Halls,stairs and outside areas including balconies really ruin what theyve done in rooms. I hope they continue to renovate quickly. Id love to leave a good review of all next time
