Simple, comfortable, clean
We had a great time at Captain Max. We stayed on 3 separate occasions while island hopping. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. The wifi is excellent. Max and his brother are really kind and helpful. It’s in a great central location.

Would stay again for sure
We stayed several times here over a couple of weeks moving around the Galapagos. Max and his brother were lovely, helpful and ran a tight ship! It’s also a solid central location.

Stort fint rum med bra standard, alltid välstädat och städerskorna fyllde på med drickbart vatten i rummet. Fick bra hjälp av värden gällande aktiviteter och staden.

Kapitan Max był bardzo przyjemnym gospodarzem, uśmiechnięty zawsze pomocny, pokoje czyste codziennie sprzątane, gospodarz był bardzo pomocny w organizowaniu wycieczek, w pokoju były ręczniki, szklanki, woda i kawa i herbata zawsze dostępne.

Capitan Max is located just off a strip of restaurants. It is an easy 3-4 minute walk to the main street and to get to the pier. It is clean, has friendly staff, basic breakfast is included - cereal, eggs, toast, coffee/tea, and fruit. There was lots of filtered water to fill your water bottle. Overall, a good B&B and would stay there again.

I felt like being taken care of by a good friend. Max organized the tours for me as I liked to. He provided little breakfast even early in the morning before normal breakfast time when the tour started too early. The room was clean and comfy. Who needs it with air condition. Thank you for the service.

Fomos muito bem recebidos assim que chegamos na hospedagem. O proprietário nos deu dicas locais e organizou passeios pelas Ilhas Galápagos. O café da manhã é muito bem servido. A hospedagem está muito bem localizada, bastante próximo às ruas principais e ao porto de onde saem os barcos para os passeios.

Captain Max was really good with comunication and arranged for us the taxis to take us to and from the ferry area. He was very friendly and helpful. The place is in a great location very close to delicious restaurants, shops, and the malecon. Nice walk over to the teh charles darwin research center. Easy to catch water taxis and tours. Downside. You are near the hapening area so it could get loud. The room was good size and the AC workes great. Would recommend. It is probably a little more rustic then some b and b's, but overall very happy with the stay.

The property was excellent and the owner was super friendly and helpful with all the questions we had. The property is super close to the main dock where all the restaurants and shops are. And is within walking distance of some beaches and the darwin centre. Capitan Max is definitely a great choice for anyone looking to stay on Santa Cruz Island!

The property doesn’t accept credit cards for check-in; something it was not listed on property details, you have to download an app to pay via credit card but the other thing is that wifi is horrible at this property; in other places the wifi works fine, and last if you stay in one of the bedrooms facing the street you won’t sleep after 5:30am with the sound of trucks, motorcycles and the elementary school in front.

Max is a lovely host and he is very helpful. The breakfast is hearty and filling. The hotel is well located and close to pharmacies, bank machines, the grocery store, and port. It is quiet at night and the huge bed was so comfortable! Great value for the money.

The room, the location, the breakfast, Captain Max himself...everything was excellent. Max was so helpful. He definitely made our stay much better with all of his advise and help in planning our days spent on the island.

This hotel met our needs. Super convenient, clean and great service. It was only a few minutes from the port and the Kioskos. Max was very helpful in coordinating taxis and providing information on tours. Internet was a bit spotty, but that is true for the whole island. Breakfast was a bit underwhelming, but still met our needs. Had to pay for the hotel with cash (couldn't take credit), but was doable with close ATMs. Overall would highly recommend Capitan Max. Great bargain and excellent service! Thanks Max

I think this B&B is way overpriced for what you get. Most of the rooms are dark with minimal lighting, not what you want on a tropical get away. Breakfast is very simple and is the same each day. We had 2 cockroaches in the room and one was actually IN the bed. I don’t know if cockroaches are just part of the deal being on protected eco land but to me it always screams “dirty”. Positive: within walking distance to everything.

We had a wonderful stay at Capitan Max. It was central to everything - ports, restaurants, entrance to national park (tortuga Bay Area). Breakfast was delicious and host was accommodating, leaving food out for us when we had early tours and helping us set up a taxi. Look forward to staying when we are able to make a return trip!

Amazing place to stay at Galapagos
The place was great. It is located near everything and you can walk to the pier and many restaurants. The owner Pedro is an amazing person and he is very kind that he arranged our tours for us so that we can enjoy our stay in Galapagos. Thank you very much for everything!

Captain Max keeps the B & B absolutely spotless. I love the Nautical theme atmosphere which shows Captain Max's love of the sea. Mateo, the son, is very helpful as well. They make all the guests feel welcome and looked after. I highly recommend Captain Max B&B to anybody who want to visit Puerto Ayora.

Excellent service. Excellent communication. They provide drinking water so you don't have to worry about buying water. Captain and brother always there if we had any questions. The best place to stay hands down. Walking distance to pier for visiting other islands. Close to restaurants, bank machine, bakery that bakes everything fresh. Rooms are clean and spacious.

I felt very lucky to have chosen Captain Max for my stay in Puerto Ayora. The host Pablo is an absolute delight, and made sure that I had a wonderful time on Santa Cruz. He arranged awesome trips for me, and had an insider's opinion on where to go on the island. The room was very nice. Clean, relaxing, good air conditioning. The breakfast was made to order which was great. Cannot recommend enough!

Nice central location to the property being in the heart of Santa Cruz and close to the water pier and water taxi. This is not a high end hotel but it is clean and the staff very accommodating.

Met all our needs. Clean and comfortable.
Very clean hotel. Breakfast was good. Coffee was wonderful! Captain Max was helpful in making tour reservations and arranging transportation to and from the airport.
