The Tamarix is a beautiful quant small property, quite unlike typical western hotels. It feels like a home. The staff was exceptional. The beach is within walking distance as are several great restaurants. It was our first visit to Santorini. This hotel is in Kamari which does not look like the picture postcards of Santorini. For that, one would have to stay in Oia - but would likely have to put up with huge crowds especially during tourist season. So if one wanted to avoid that, Kamari is a great choice.

The location of the property is truly amazing. Everything we were looking for was available within walking distance. The breakfast was excellent and they changed the menu everyday. We are looking forward to going back. It is a gem of a place to be.

Amazing stay! All the staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Very quiet and relaxed by the pool, exactly what we were looking for. Breakfast was delicious, with different options every morning. Plenty of great restaurants for lunch and dinner in the evening within short walking distance. Only comment would be that it’s quite hard to understand the room and bed set up from the description and photos. Could be clearer so you know exactly what you’re booking.

Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben upgrade bekommen. Das Zimmer war super, sehr durchdacht. Am Pool waren leider nicht genug Liegen. Morgen Früh wurden schon alle Liegen mit den Handtücher reserviert! Wir müssten aufgrund dessen ein paar Mal zum Strand gehen. Für die Anzahl der Zimmer war der Pool auch zu klein. Die Restaurants und Minimarkt waren gleich in der Nähe.

Wonderful Santorini.
Tamarix del Mar is a great hotel, brilliant staff and is located in the nicest resort in Santorini, very highly recommended.

Wonderful gem of a hotel
My stay at the Tamarix was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. From the moment we arrived we received a warm welcome and were pleasantly surprised to have been upgraded to a maisonette room. The staff are absolutely wonderful and very friendly. No request was a problem and they truly made our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful and very clean. The breakfast was plentiful with a variety of food to choose from. I will definitely come back to this hotel again

Excellent séjour
Hôtel bien situé à proximité de nombreux restaurants et à deux minutes de la plage. Le personnel est très professionnel. Accueil excellent et ils sont toujours de bons conseils. Le petit déjeuner est très varié et vraiment bon. L'entretien et le nettoyage des suites est effectué tous les jours et c'est toujours propre. Litterie confortable.

All the Hotel staff were very welcoming and made sure to supply all our needs as guests...also breakfast were made fresh daily along with very pleasant and kind people around. Service was excellent and rooms clean with daily housekeeping. Food a little disappointing and the location although by the beach suffers from being close to the airport and partially obscured by the rock face, meaning sunsets at 5 rather than 7pm.

great stay and host for my wedding guests
great stay. hospitality great and went over and above. all my wedding guests loved it. pool area was great and relaxing. great location to the strip of restaurants. rooms a good size, but the bathrooms could be slightly modernised. can't wait to go back!

Full marks to Tamarix!
My family and I had a wonderful 10 night stay at Tamarix del Mar. The hotel is lovely, as our all the staff, who go out of their way to assist with any query or request. The daily cleaning service was exceptional. The hotel is well positioned in the lovely area of Kamari, where it's no more than 15 minutes to all the restaurants and many great places to eat only a minute away. Highly recommend Tamarix del Mar for anyone wanting to visit Santorini and avoid the crowded areas of Oia and Fira. Both of these are worth a visit, but wouldn't stay there.

Tres bel établissement. Magnifique vue. Appartement avec jacuzzi à l étage supérieur exceptionnel. Petit déjeuner très varié et différent chaque jour. Piscine top. Accueilli a l arrivée avec un verre de bienvenue. Personnel agréable et accueillant. Proche de la plage et rue principale. Seul repproche. Seulement 2 chaise sur le balcon pour 5 ! Et femme de ménage dans la chambre alors que nous revenions du petit dejeuner.

The property is well situated a short walk from the Kamari promenade. It is fairly quiet with a pleasant pool and rooms built around it. Most rooms are called junior suites which are suitable for 2 adults and have sofas which might be used as beds for children but are not suitable for an adult. It misrepresents these as rooms for 3 adults.

Absolutely wonderful property - visited with an 18 month in tow and could not have wished for a better hotel. Had a wonderful suite which was overlooking the main road leading to Kamari Beach and had stunning views of ancient thera ruins (wasn't brave enough to try the road up). The private hot tub was lovely and the suite was immaculately clean and fully equiped with a decent sized fridge and small hob. Shower was large (note no bath but this wasn't an issue for us). The breakfast buffet was lovely and a nice touch was the variety on a daily basis and the hotel has outdooor and indoor pools alongside a small fitness area which has one of the main machines needed for staying in shape. The staff are honestly some of the friendliest and nicest staff I have ever encountered - all of them were warm and knowledgeable and also really entertained our young one - Anna and Elizabeth alongside Christiopher really made our trip. The hotels location is literally a 3 minute walk down the main street to Kamari Beach but despite this very quite and secluded and multiple mini-marts and car rental places within a minute (especially the one over the road with a lovely couple!) Overall had an absolute amazing stay and we are already planning to return next year with another addition in tow - I have already recommended this hotel to two work colleagues!!

This was our first visit to Santorini and did not know what to expect. The reviews and photos looked good for Tamarix Del Mar so we decided to give it a shot. We could not be more pleased with our decision. The property and staff exceeded our expectations. The staff was very attentive and the property was quiet and well taken care of. The location was ideal for us. Just a short walk to the beach and a pedestrian promenade with a wide selection of restaurants and shops. We would definitely stay at this property again.

The property was so beautiful and the suite was stunning, exactly like the pictures. The staff were so nice and extremely helpful so we felt right at home. It was also very nice to have complimentary breakfast everyday and it tasted great. Two of the people I traveled with had dietary restrictions and the staff so kindly even made a special dish they could eat. The staff of the property were awesome and the location was much less chaotic than fira or oia! We really enjoyed our stay and were so sad to leave.

In Need of Maintenance and Very Poor Communication
Staff all lovely and room had plenty of space but very disappointed by poor communication from the hotel before we arrived. I asked to extend the booking and also for a hire car (as the hotel had offered) but despite 3 requests via email, hotel.com messaging and also asking directly I never got a reply so gave up and made my own arrangements. Room was really comfortable and loads of space but in dire need of a lot of maintenance, especially hot (!) tub and jacuzzi bath (which didn’t work at all). Parking was a real hassle - either had to pay 10 euros a day for nearby car park or brave parking just out of town which seemed to involve local people shouting at you a lot as they clearly wanted to keep the space for themselves.

The only things I don’t like was the swimming pool was cold, and the spa was closed. It says parking is included in our stay but there was no parking onsite. Otherwise, the staff is very nice and friendly , the property is very nice, it’s closer to the bus stop and close to the beach. Breakfast is great!

Amazing hotel, with an amazing staff!
We had an amazing stay here! The staff was fantastic! The morning breakfast was phenomenal and the hotel itself was outstanding! We wish we had more than 5 days here! It was right heart ❤ of everything, and a close walk to the beach, shops and great restaurants! Yoy can see the sea and drive to Ancient Thera from the hotel...we loved it here!

Loved It!
Loveley hotel with very comfortable suites. The staff are very nice. We loved our out door jacuzzi and the pool was Also very nice. The hotel is perfectly situated with many restaurants, cafes and shops all around and very close to the beach! The food was good too. Nice breakfast selection. We loved our stay!

Everything about our stay here was beyond amazing!! The food was delicious for us New Yorker!! Breakfast is freshly made as per your order!! Drinks were great as well!! I traveled with my husband and 3 kids! Hotel was kid friendly and other kids were there as well yet you didn’t know there was kids till you saw them cuz it was so quiet! Everything is nearby and best of all walking distance! The supermarket is right next door. Then the beach, tons of restaurant and tons of shop start right from not even a block away from the hotel!! Staff is like no other!! Beyond friendly, accommodating and super helpful with whatever you need!! Highly recommend this hotel for everyone!! It was super relaxing, beyond clean and an amazing experience overall!
