I had the twin room, room 1. On the face of it it seemed fine but it was a warm day in Nairn and the room was stuffy. I opened the window to get some air in after dinner and was immediately hit by a loud noise. At first I thought it was the fan in the bathroom but realised it was the rather large extraction unit outside my window for the kitchen. It stayed on until 10.30 and began again at 6.30am. Personally I think you should be told about this before being given the room, esp for the early start. There was no mistaking that noise when it kicks in. I had to ramp up the tv volume from 28 to 40 to hear anything. The fan aside, you could also feel your bed reverberate while staff worked in the room below.
Aside from the noise, the bed was comfortable enough but a bit compact. The bathroom was tiny but functional. I’m not sure my husband could have managed the shower if he had been with me this trip. It was a bit small.
Breakfast was ok but service wasn’t great. There was only 1 table of 5 when I arrived and I was ignored by the waitress for 10 minutes. I had to find a menu on another table to see what was on offer. she eventually came over and asked what I’d like to drink and eat. By then she had already been back and forth a few times and in fact then served another guest who had arrived a few minutes after me. What a welcome!
Would I go back again? No way, and for £90 I think it was a bit of a joke.
