Remote location with the friendliest people
Finding the lodge can be tricky if you’re not familiar with the area, but it’s worth the search. Extremely friendly couple running the place, nicely furnished rooms and incredible scenery all around the lodge. Excellent food and warm, comfortable environment.

Fantastic, secluded, scenic Lodge
Situated by a loch and views of nearby Suilven and Canisp mountains. Lovely welcome from Sam and Rachel. Relaxing and peaceful spacious lounge with log fire and honesty bar. We had a huge ground floor room and huge bathroom. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom well heated. Breakfast was superb. Good grounds to walk in and explore. We spent a couple of hours early evening sitting by the loch in the sunshine, admiring the mountains and the deer on the surrounding hills. Wonderful place to stay and support the community Assynt Foundation in protecting and promoting the lovely Glen Canisp.

a peaceful haven
Loved every bit of our stay. Spacious, peaceful with a beautiful setting. The long driveway was a bit rustic but it added to the charm. The young couple running the hotel were welcoming and provided a lovely breakfast. The lounge room was a great informal place to chat with other guests.

One if the NC500 favourites!
Beautiful hotel in the most amazing setting. Rachael and Sam were so very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and Estate. They have a real project in their hands but have made a fantastic beginning. Look forward to going back when they are open for dinner too. Definitely worth adding into your accommodation schedule.

Great place to stay
We really enjoyed our stay at the Lodge during our short trip around Scotland. The location is superb: on the edge of a beautiful loch but close enough to Lochinver for dinner. The owners were very friendly and helpful, organising a dinner reservation for us and cooking a delicious breakfast. We'd love to stay again!

Highland gem
A super place to stay. Beautiful setting. Would thoroughly recommend it. Only down side is that they as yet do not do dinner.

Incredible views
We enjoyed this lodge very much. It is a little difficult to find but well worth it. It sits on acreage overlooking the loch, and is filled with paths to walk on. Rachel and Sam are very friendly and informative. They are not yet doing evening meals but are more than helpful with reservations in town. They are currently updating the property but when complete it will be 5 star. The views are incredible.

Unique hotel with amazing views
Victorian house with many original features and old furniture (incl 4 poster bed in our room). Large room with views over loch to Suilven (mountain). Run by a community organisation so very informal, very friendly manager and generally a place to relax and/or as a base for walking. The local area is very beautiful and there are a couple of good restaurants in the village, Lochinver. The breakfast was excellent and the hotel is licensed for evening drinks.

Serene location on a nature preserve
The lodge is a renovated shepherds mansion that is in an ideal location for those looking to escape to a little piece of tranquility. Tons of hiking trails and great views to be had. Staff are very friendly and accommodating!

Beautiful building - lovely views, rooms and staff
Glencanisp has only been offering bed and breakfast options for a few weeks. The management couple onsite are warm, friendly and provided everything we could ask for. The breakfast was lovely and if you want dinner it can be provided if you ask in advance. Our stay was really enjoyable and this somewhere I would recommend and return to.

B&B in the most amazing location
Arrived late at night so the view at breakfast was a very pleasant surprise, the setting is wonderful. Freshly gathered chanterelle mushrooms with the breakfast!

Could be amazing n the future.
Had booked 2 nights but left after 1. This was advertised as 4 star but was infact a hostel in the early stages of up grading. The building, location & 2 staff members we met were lovely as was the breakfast. The place was in desperate need of an upgrade, there was no TV in any bedroom or even lounge, no radio, 1 pay phone in the entrance. No soft furnishings, comfy chairs, pictures in bedroom, no shaving point in the bathroom, no proper shower. The lodge is located 6km down a single track road with a few passing places so is very remote, with nothing to do in the evening when it gets dark apart from sit in a sparcely decorated lounge reading magazines dating from 2007! Hopefully this place will have a lot of money spent on it & then could be amazing, as the views are spectacular & staff lovely.

We were told that we could book in anytime after 3 pm. In actual fact the booking time is 5 pm. We had to hang around for over an hour. No shower in our room only bath.

Beautiful location and helpful staff
They have just started doing B&B and some of the teething problems are still evident. Rooms are nice in the main but some have private bathrooms rather than being en suite. Public rooms need some significant upgrading upgrading to warrant the tag "luxury"

Großes, etwas abgelegenes Haus in malerischer Landschaft mit tollem Ausblick. Schöne große Zimmer und Betten. Gut geeignet für Wanderungen und Ausflüge in die Natur (der Suilven ist in der Nähe) oder an die Küste. Herausragendes landestypisches Frühstück mit Pfifferlingen statt der üblichen Champignons.
