the area was fine considering the high plains windy environment but not the place where one sits outside much.

We got there after 7 hours of driving to find they cancelled our reservation and did not call. Then told us they had no rooms so at midnight we were stranded with our 13 year old and no where to go.

I am so sorry this happened! We did not cancel your reservation. Your reservation was for March 29th and you arrived on March 30th. So all of our available rooms then switched over to the March 30th reservations. Again, I am sorry.

For a small town hotel it was just fine. Room was clean. Checking in at the diner was smooth and quick. We weren't looking for anything fancy, just a place to spend the night.

Sharon Springs Travelodge
As in most small towns in Kansas, you don't have a large choice of hotels (one, maybe two) to choose from, and that was the case in Sharon Springs. Lot's of first time oddities with this hotel. First thing is that we pull up to the hotel and there is no obvious entry to the hotel. There is no lobby to check in. On our second door we read a sign that we must check in at the dinner located at the front of the hotel. Man was very nice checking us in, and we stayed and ate in the dinner. The same man cooked our hamburgers, which were very good. After dinner we went back to the first door we tried. The outside appearance of the hotel isn't great. A worn out, I guess a refrigerator was laying on its side in the parking lot right by the main entry. Weeds were growing up in along the sidewalks. Truthfully, just looking at it, you would think that the hotel was out of business. We had trouble getting in. This might have been an old person thing, but we tried every which direction on the card with no luck. A second trip to the dinner for a new card and got right in. We got to the room and didn't need a card because the door wasn't locked. The room was actually large. Even though there was some wear and tear, the room was clean. The bed was very comfortable, and we both got a great night of sleep. We checked out to a cheerful woman in the dinner, and again we ate there. Great breakfast. Truthfully, some people would have walked away, but we were okay with it.

Overpriced
Rooms could have been cleaner. The stairway was very dirty. Rooms were not cleaned during our stay. Overpriced due to the condition of the hotel.

Good Place to Stay!!
It is an extended stay and the staff here has been wonderful. They have taken care of everything. Very friendly and pleasant . Have enjoyed my stay her immensely!

Nice and clean
I stayed a week then decided to stay longer. Staff very friendly, they have on site laundry. Have a diner with the best tasting fries I’ve ever eaten. Would definitely recommend staying here.

It was absolutely disgusting there was bugs all over inside the room on the walls and ceilings in the bathroom. It also smelled bad for supposedly being a clean room. We arrived at 330 am was charged for a filthy bug infested room then transfered to a different room with 1 king bed for 5 of us. Never ever again.

Traveling from VA to NM. This hotel was a stop along the way. A very “rough around the edges “ hotel, but it was quiet, clean and easy to get to.

The hotel was clean, but outdated. The hotel was overpriced for what you got. I felt that the price was high because it was the only hotel around. We couldn’t find the fitness room. No breakfast included.

Welcoming and Clean
A bit nervous at first, it seemed so remote and unoccupied, but the staff was welcoming, the sheets and beddding were clean and comfortable and they provided these large towels which were awesome. One must expect a country type atmosphere with no frills, but it is a country location. The restaurant was lovely. Quaint, clean and run by a one man show! He took orders, cooked delicious food, served and checked us out. Free coffee in the AM, would definitely reccommend this spot for the weary traveler.

We had to deal with a few roaches. They were very lethargic so the room must have been treated earlier. They are severely understaffed-the cook of next-door’s Penny’s Diner checked us in, cooked our breakfasts (not included in the hotel cost), washed the dishes and waited I. Us!

I didn’t like that I had to check into the hotel at the diner. The guy working was slower than snail snot. I had gone to eat at the diner earlier for dinner and we sat 30 minutes and didn’t even get a drink.

Traveled form California to Nebraska and by far the friendliest staff making sure I have everything needed. Room was clean and perfect size for one traveler.

Adequate for a 1 night stay.
It was very convenient to have a 24/7 diner on on site. The bed could use a new mattress since we both rolled to the middle, but was still adequate for a 1 night stay. staff were all very friendly. Room was clean.

Only one blanket for two beds - not made because of "covid"? No coffee cups. No restock for second day. Staff was friendly. Bug difference bewtween cooks at on-site resataurant. 1st day breakfast 5-star. 2nd day seemed like it was bithersome to put order together. Quantity and prep lacking.
