As you well know, there was nobody to check in with when we arrived - though a small sign on the counter gave a phone number for after hours check-in. That phone was never answered and the voicemail was full. We called the main number for the property, too, but that just rang to the unattended phone at the desk. We knocked on the office door to no avail. Luckily, a room was available next door, so we had to pay again. I will be pursuing a refund but am still recovering from our 46 driving hours trip. Oh, yeah...in case you claim not to know, I left a brief account of the event with my phone number on the keyboard at the front desk but never got call. It's too bad; the town was cute. This was the worst part of our 4 1/2 day, 3,200 mile trip. That's saying something. Final thought: Stuff happens - but no follow-up is inexcusable.
