The location was great - quiet with fabulous views. A lot of thought and effort had been put into the vintage décor, specifically catering for weddings. The breakfasts were good and the current interim managers, Mark and Penny, were helpful and friendly. However, the website promised bathrobes, slippers, complimentary toiletries and hairdryer in the guest rooms, none of which were available when we arrived and Mark and Penny were unaware of what was supposed to be on offer. The website also stated that there was a restaurant serving light meals and a bar but again these facilities were unavailable, a fact we were not fully cognisant of until we arrived(there is currently no chef). However,we were able to find eating places within a 5-10 mile radius of the hotel. The WiFi was intermittent and very difficult to access from the bedroom but slightly better elsewhere in the hotel.
The housekeeping arrangements were also rather hit and miss and on one of the days the bed was left unmade and the tea/coffee making facilities were not replenished.
