I think the property knows they have staff issues,we were left waiting at reception on arrival for ten minutes because reception was unmanned. When we got to our room it had not been serviced, dust and dirt on every surface, hairs in the bath, USED CUP STILL ON THE TRAY DISGUSTING coffee rings on table, television did not work cobwebs and dust on balcony chairs dirt and litter on balcony, otherwise fine. The lovely grounds are becoming overgrown and benches old and starting to fall apart. In the bar there is what would seem to be a hole in the ceiling where rain comes in which has been covered by a few old teatowels. The bar personnel did not know how to pour a shandy (beer first??????) but were quite happy to charge nearly £16 for a round of four. The breakfast was quite nice, although the food is in danger of going cold on its long journey from kitchen to dining room via guest used corridors.Only three dining room staff was hopelessly inadequate, but they did a great job against the odds. The location is fantastic and very pretty,we only stayed one night and I would love to return again sometime, even if only to see if the hotels issues have been sorted out,it could be really so much better. The partial refund we were offered for the room as they could not give us another room never materialised
