For the price we paid I was absolutely amazed at the standard of this hotel. Lots of parking and very convenient for the conference in Telford. I had no complaints about my room at all. My colleague had to have a lock replaced but they offered us a free drink each at the bar to compensate for the inconvenience. The food was good in the restaurant (maybe a few more vegan options, please?). Best of all were the staff - every single person was most pleasant and helpful.

Overall a nice experience, the room was basic but had all you need for a few nights stay. Staff were excellent. Only downside was they had a large coach party staying so were fully booked and they seemed to be inadequately staffed. This meant meal times were crowded and we ended up eating in the bar rather than the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast.

Value for money could do better!
The bathroom floor, plug holes and sink, together with our bedroom carpet, were not clean. The decor was very worn and is showing signs of wear, aging and is in need of repairs. The breakfast was very functional with little choice. However, the staff are lovely.

Hello AnonymousI am sorry to hear about the poor standard of cleanliness you experienced at the Buckatree Hall Hotel in December 2022. We have recently made great strides in substantially improving our Housekeeping standards, following an internal investigation. The hotel has just changed hands and the new owners have already embarked upon a big improvement/refurbishment programme for the hotel. Our breakfast reflects our value for money prices, however all guests are invited to submit suggestions of what they would like to see on the breakfast menu in the future.Thank you for your very kind comment about the staff.

Wouldn't rush back
So hot, more like a care home than a hotel. The thermostat in the restaurant was set to 25 degrees even though the weather was very mild. Radiators on first floor were pumping out so much heat. Light outside the lift on the second floor was burnt out. Sound system in the restaurant distorted so much and totally inappropriate music being played during dinner and at a totally inappropriate volume. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms clean, bed was comfortable.

The location of the property is ideal for visiting other areas , the property could do with some uodating the decor is looking tierd now, we have stayed here about 6 times.

We had a lovely time, thank you . Nice hotel, good staff - working very hard ( I imagine short staffed like everywhere ) they were busy but managed to stay cheerful and professional. We loved exploring the local area . We will be back .

Had a lovely stay with family The staff are so lovely and friendly and nothing was an issue Some of the hotel needs a little tlc but for the price it’s a great place Lovely views - didn’t expect a balcony . Breakfast was really good - would stay again

Great stay for anyone wanting a nice peaceful location. We had room with balcony over the pond which was nice. Everything you would need in the room and breakfast was good too, bargain stay for the price paid, definately recommend.

Staff encountered didn't seem dis-interested.
We were there for a 2 night stay. We were due to be up and out early before the scheduled 08:00 breakfast. We were offered a 'Continental Breakfast' at our preferred time. The breakfast consisted of cereals, toast, juice, tea or coffee on morning 1. Morning 2; tea and coffee was not offered until 15 minutes after we sat down. When we explained we didn't have time due to having to leave soon. We received the response of "Oh" and the member of staff promptly walked off ! We were unable to connect to the advertised free WIFI in our room. My wife contacted reception to question this to be told "if you want to connect you'll have a better chance in the Bar" that was the end of that conversation. No apology, no explanation ! Maybe we should have moved our bed to the bar ! Incidentally I did notice the secured Hotel Staff WIFI was displaying a very strong signal in our room.

Wish I would of paid attention to the negative reviews. Looks ok from the outside but as soon as you walk through the reception doors you are greeted by what I can only describe as the smell of an old peoples home. The hotel staff are not the friendliest either & over heard them sniggering about guests on more than 1 occasion. The hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment, is very run down. Breakfast was poor with half cooked food. The room was dirty as though hadn't seen a cleaner for weeks dust everywhere hygiene to be desired to say the least. If looking for a nice place to stay at I would avoid this one at all costs !

Faulty Towers
cleanliness was disgusting and quite frankly non existent therefore it was diabolical. I have never stayed in such a dirty hotel, rooms had broken showers. Room 40 shower flooded the bathroom making it extremely slippy and the carpet soaked. Room 39 you couldn’t control the shower temperature meaning we all had cold showers. The hotel smelt, it was musty and the balcony outside was worn, tired and looked unsafe. My husband ordered a hot chocolate at the bar, Low and behold the milk was OFF and he had to return the drink, the bartender staff admitted the milk was off and apologised. Totally unacceptable When we first arrived we were given the key to our room. We entered our room only to discover another family in there! You had given us another families room key - faulty towers now springs to mind! Service/cleanliness/standards all below par! Certainly would not stay again!

If that room was a superior twin hate to think what a standard room would be like. Found a pair of dirty knickers on the floor. Cobwebs on the ceiling main light not working one of the headboard was lop sided bathroom ceiling flanking 1st night very noisy till 1-36am .Saturday afternoon kids playing football ball hitting the window more than once apart from all that it was okay.

The staff went out there way to help us thay brought our breakfast to the table in the bar as we had the dog who cant be left in the room as blind the hotel was lovely and clean no noise and cosy we vist family in telford we will definitely be going back book for august

The hotel is very dated. The cleanliness left alot to be desired. Before we even got to our rooms I didn't get a good impression. The stairs leading up to the rooms were dirty and the carpet needed a good hoovering!! The rooms were dusty with wallpaper peeing off in places. There was mould on the bathroom ceiling and the toilet seats had not been cleaned properly. I booked two rooms as there was four of us staying (Two adults and two teenagers) I had asked for interconnecting or adjoining rooms. This request was just ignored. If I had been informed that this wasn't possible I would have cancelled the booking and booked elsewhere. The thermostat on the shower in one of the rooms could not be adjusted, the water was too hot to take a shower so we couldn't use it. We all had to use the shower in the other room. I don't usually leave reviews but I was disappointed with this hotel, I wouldn't recommend and definitely wouldn't go back.

Never again!
The bed sheets had not been changed, I pulled them back to see mensturation stains on the sheet and duvet. Disgusting . The carpet had hair and was not hoovered. The manager refused to change my room. I was so tired from a long day 3 half hour drive. I am a health care worker, never would I treat my patients/client in the same way. The male person was completely dismissive. I will not stay there again and will not be recommending the place.
