Thank you. Unfortunately you were here when there was little water in the valley. It was very temporary and was fixed within a few hours. The jacuzzi was broken and we were waiting on the repairman. I am sorry, but we cannot make a mechanical repair in a minute. We have to wait for the technician

Delightful stay with a wonderful view!
This was our first trip to Italy and we found that La Chiusa was a perfect spot midway through our trip. A relaxing & inviting environment with a picture perfect view! The rooms are as described, we had a delicious meal at the restaurant with great service and the breakfast buffet was plentiful. The gardens and grounds are well maintained and enjoyable to stroll. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Perfect Place in the Countryside of Tuscany
We stayed one night, which wasn’t long enough, so we will be back. This is a property best to be considered for a trip to relax, enjoy the amazing scenery and get restored. It is a 15 minute drive to the Montepulciano, in the middle of the countryside with incredible views across the valley. The rooms and property are charming with their brick floors, shutters and furnishings. Check in before 8 PM, and be sure to tell them at least one day ahead if you want to eat in the restaurant. Otherwise, you will have to go off property. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful. Not only were there the wonderful pastries, fruit, cheeses, meats,etc., they will make you eggs to order. Huge bathroom and tube in our room. Only suggestion, replace the cheeky US pictures with some nice local prints, and the vibe will be perfecto. Thanks, for the bottle of Prosecco in our room! It was a wonderful touch.

Beautiful views and a good restaurant
The setting is beautiful and the breakfast and dinner at their restaurant was amazing.The room we had facing the swimmingpool could have been more inviting with a walkway to reach the room with luggage. The room itself was nice. The furniture could have been a bit more practical with a bedside table etc. The bathroom was excellent, big and new.

Not as expected...
The room was not as expected. We were disappointed considering the photos we had seen. Small, not very clean and with insects inside. The breakfast was good and the scenery beautiful. The time of the check out was at 10:00 which was very unusual and inconvenient. In general, the location is excellent and the staff indeed polite and helpful especially the girl at the reception.

Dear Anonymous. We are surprised since all rooms have photos on the website so you can choose the room you want. As for insects and cleanliness--this is impossible as our rooms are cleaned by a team of 4 people and inspected before they are turned over to guests. As for check out--this is in our information--you could have asked for a later check out and I am sure we would have accommodated you. But, since you are anonymous, I guess we really never know how to address your concerns.

Beautiful setting
We enjoyed our stay here, we booked two nights and ate at their restaurant one of those nights. The food and wine were very enjoyable with a beautiful setting. The staff were great. The free breakfast was very good, a mix a fresh fruit and treats with eggs to order, the coffee was very good. The rooms are a little dated, our toilet seat was broken (room number 5) which was annoying, other than that the bathrooms were ok and a good size. Overall we’d recommend this place, it’s good value for money.

This is a beautiful and secluded property in a remote area near Siena. Overlooking Montepulciano, this farmhouse style property is located near a small mountain village of Montefollonico. If you are looking for a secluded, quiet place in a beautiful Italian countryside you won't be disappointed.

La Chiusa war nicht leicht zu finden, weil wir mit dem Navigationsgerät über Torrita di Siena - offizielle Adresse des Hotels - geführt wurden, ein Umweg. Stattdessen wäre Montefollonico angebracht gewesen. Das Hotel liegt in schöner Lage auf einem auslaufenden Hügel. Der Parkplatz ist gut erreichbar und liegt in Hotelnähe. Die Zimmer beziehungsweise Räume sind in diesem historischen Gebäude ebenerdig gehalten. Sie sind ausgesprochen weiträumig gestaltet: überdurchschnittlich grosses Bett, ein Baderaum, der seinesgleichen sucht sowie einen zusätzlichen Raum,mit Toilette und Dusche. Alle Räume sind mit viel Stil und Geschmack eingerichtet. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichhaltig und schmackhaft und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Das Abendessen, das à la carte gereicht wurde, war ausgezeichnet. Die Weinkarte ist gut assortiert mit Gewächsen aus der Region und anderen Weingütern aus Italien. Wenn wir wiederum in der Gegend verweilen, werden wir bestimmt wieder in der La Chiusa absteigen.

Unforgettable!
Oh, my! What a place! Our disappointment with the urban atmosphere entering this establishment ended when we got out of our car. It faces the beautiful hills of Chianti. The ever present owner , Unberto, is a Classic figure who is delightful, full of stories, a philosopher, a chief, The food is exceptional, prepared with local products farm to table. The restoration of the property, excellent food, outstanding staff, comfortable clean rooms all make this a place you will never forget. We thought we were at the estate where the rural scenes from “The Godfather “ were filmed. And truly , Umberto is Marlin Bando with much more charm. You will never want to leave.

Siamo stati per 3 giorni in formula mezza pensione: si mangia divinamente! Il servizio e' di elevatissimo livello : professionalita' e cordialita' al massimo. Grande lista di vini. Colazione servita al tavolo. Location tranquilla immersa nel verde ma a pochi km dai principali borghi della zona (Montepulciano, Pienza ecc...). I titolari Umberto e Dania sono persone squisite disponibili a soddisfare qualsiasi esigenza. I camerieri Osman e Giampaolo fantastici.

Awesome as usual.....
Amazing as always. Umberto, Luigi an Giampaolo are always welcoming and over the top attentive. Stunning morning views with our coffee and breakfast make the mornings even more fabulous. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Montefollonico and area! The only downside would be sketchy wi-fi in rooms......excellent in dining areas and open spaces.

O Hotel fica no alto com uma paisagem belíssima, sem falar da localização estratégica para quem está de carro, pois fica muito próximo das outras cidades famosas da Toscana. Quarto e banheiro espaçosos. Recomendo o restaurante do hotel, o filé com trufas é maravilhoso. Os funcionários são super prestativos. Café da manhã muito bom.

Comfort in the heart of Tuscany
I loved the staff and restaurant at La Chuisa. When we arrived, Luigi, the concierge and Dania, a Michelin-starred chef personally came out to give us a warm welcome. The maitre 'd was very attentive and knew our preferences for breakfast after the first morning. My room was simple, clean and comfortable with a spacious, fully equipped bathroom, which included a towel warmer that was perfect for drying hand-washed items. I had a great view of Montepulciano perched on a hilltop across the valley from my window. Olive and fig trees grace the peaceful property. Luigi booked our travel back to Rome and got us a half-price deal on the high speed train. One afternoon when I was reading on the terrace with my sister, a waiter brought us a tray of bread, prosciutto, and fresh figs (he said they were the last figs of the season from the village). A few people in my group complained about not having screens in the windows or finding spiders in the room but that wasn't an issue for me. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel with view of Montepluciano
We enjoyed our stay in the area - we found it a very central location, and it was interesting to stay in an old estate. We were warmly greeted by staff, and offered a lovely glass of prosecco. The rooms were big and with beautiful views of the grounds and neighbouring Montepluciano. The bed was uncomfortable and very hard. The fridge was not working but they didn't mention it until I brought it up and our food was spoiled. We had a nice dinner at the restaurant, and it felt very lavish. With this being said, my boyfriend found the staff to be pushy and was uncomfortable during almost every interaction. The breakfast that was included was lovely, however, by the last day we found that they were not providing the same amounts of meats and cheeses, or being offered yogurt. We wondered if it was because we didn't dine at the restaurant every night which felt like the expectation. Overall, the place was central to a lot of villages and we really enjoyed the area but I am not sure I would recommend staying there to a good friend. However, it might have been how we read the situation.

Fantastic to be back in Montefollonico and La Chiu
Back after about 20 years. Only sorry that the restaurant was closed because that was one of the best we have been to. A bottle of vine from the chef, Dania to say sorry for that. Montefollonico is one of the most charming hill top towns in Tuscany

Trevlig ägare, och fantastisk mat på restaurangen. Utsikten från verandan och trädgården är helt otroligt vacker! Däremot var sängarna hårda. Vi hade nästan inget varmvatten i badrummet, så det gick inte att använda det stora mysiga badkaret.

We spent 5 days at La Chiusa and really enjoyed our time there. It is a great location making it easy to explore the Tuscan region. La Chiusa staff are fantastic and always willing to help when required.

Ruhiges Landhaus mit Toskana-Ambiente
Ich war ein Wochenende im Mai 2014 im La Chiusa, und war wohl der einzige Hotelgast und einer von sehr wenigen Gästen im Restaurant am Samstagabend. Hervorzuheben ist das sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Auftreten des Personals, die angenehme Größe meines Zimmers, sowie die schöne Lage des Hotels mit guten Ausflugsmöglichkeiten. Dafür nimmt man die individuelle, teilweise angejahrte und recht pragmatische Ausstattung des Zimmers, und den naturbelassenen Garten gerne in Kauf. Das Restaurant mit seinem offenen Kamin wirkt einladend, der Service ist sehr stilvoll und die Präsentation des Zwirbelns der Pici, einer toskanischen dicken Spaghettiart, an meinen Tisch war eindrucksvoll. Allerdings konnte die Qualität der Speisen die hohen Erwartungen nicht ganz erfüllen. Dafür ist die Preisgestaltung des Menüs sowie der umfangreichen Weinauswahl, doch recht ambitioniert. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis des La Chiusa im Hotel und Restaurant stimmt z.Zt. nicht. Vielleicht sollte man sich einmal die Arrangement-Angebote anschauen.

Thank you very much for your review. La Chiusa has new owners and everything is being updated and fixed. We have hired a full-time handy-man and gardener so things will always be in fantastic shape! We are adding additional housekeepers to make sure everything is always clean and up to our high standards. Please come back and see us again.

Concierge, Luigi is wonderful can do anything. The view across the valley to Montepulciano is worth a special journey in itself. The restaurant is expensive , but a must do at least once. Great, more typical restaurants a few blocks away in little village of Montefollonico. Youre an hour from Montalcino, half hour from Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, half hour from Montipulciano, hour from Florence by autostrada. Siena is also close by car.
