This Villa was extraordinary and the # one thing that made it amazingly special was the kindness, graciousness, and warmth of all the team members, including, but not limited to Elissa, Francesca (5 star chef to us), Mattia, Masi, our lovely chambermaid, and the groundskeeper. A bonus was the owner and his partner visiting with us during our 4 course dinner one night, so gracious and lovely. There are not enough words to describe the uniqueness and simplicity of this property. It was truly serene, and everything I had ever imagined of what Tuscany would be like. Down to earth luxury. Bellisimo! We are so grateful to have experienced this.

Skønt, roligt hotel i smukke omgivelser
Super dejligt hotel. Smukke gamle bygninger, dejlig have, meget roligt med få værelser og rigtig dejligt, at der ikke er børn på hotellet. Maden smagte dejligt. Eneste lille minus er de forholdsvis høje priser på minibar og frokostserveringer samt betaling for æg og juice til morgenmad - på mange lignende steder i samme prisklasse er det medregnet i værelsesprisen. Klar anbefaling til et par dages total ro i Toscana!

It's hard to know where to begin to describe the magic of this place... the scenery, the history, the private spa, the heritage building, the in room jacuzzi.. its spectacular. But the real attraction of Relais La Costa is the chef Francesca. She is the lifeblood of the property and an absolute gem. She took us on an unforgettable culinary journey, for breakfast and dinner.. together with Diana her assistant they bring a warmth and hospitality to the place that few other places could come close to matching. We came for the property but would return for the food and warmth of its people. We can't thank you enough for such a wonderful, unforgettable experience.

900 year old gem!
What an amazing find...we stayed one night as we were working our way through Tuscany and the only disappointment was that we didn't stay longer. Rosaria and the team were welcoming and friendly, sharing their recommendations, and providing us with 5-star service. We enjoyed a refreshing time at the pool, taking in beautiful views of the valley and castles across the way, before we enjoyed the 4 course dinner, which they kindly provided vegetarian alternatives for two of us. It was truly superb and I can't wait for the opportunity to return!

What a wonderful place!!! This was a last-minute reservation for us as we were going to a wedding nearby and didn't want to drive back to Florence. Amazing find. The gentlemen who greeted us was very nice and welcoming! We stayed for a very short time but enjoyed every minute!

A great view of castles in the distance
The hotel was amazing and we had a great dinner there on one of the nights. It is a bit out of town so helpful if you have your own car or dont mind lounging around, relaxing or having a swim. The staff are very nice and even helped us out with the bikes they have on site (free to use). A pity we were so unfit that we had to walk half of the hills. The view from the terrace is of a couple of castles in the distance, not bad at all.

Beautiful cosy stay. Warm and welcoming staff.
Before arriving we were given clear and concise directions by text, which helped a lot. We had a warm and friendly greeting upon arrival. The staff were great throughout and we had 2 nice dinners there. Breakfast also had a good selection. The buildings and rooms are fantastic, clean and spacious, keeping the design of the ruin stones inside and outside too. Pool was nice and good sunbeds. The only annoyance was the flies, however I don’t think the hotel can do anything about that as they seem to be everywhere in wine country. Overall we highly recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Real Paradise!
Amazing place to stay! Very spacious, clean, comfortable and cozy two bedroom apartment! Super friendly and helpful staff, starting from Manager to servant. Super delicious food and wine! Such a quiet and peaceful place. Amazing view from our window over hills and nature! La Costa was highlight of our trip defenetly and wish to come back there soon!

Nice and remote, but no AC
Relais la Costa is a lovely place 15min away from Siena. The isolated location with the very nice pool makes it the ideal destination for a weekend of complete relaxation. The silence and peace as well as the view of Chianti are worth the drive. Management and staff are very friendly. The main drawback is that the place does not have air conditioning: During the hot summer months, I would stay in another resort for the same price. The manager did try to compensate for it with a small discount, but the lack of AC made sleeping impossible (our young kids suffered the most). Also, the dinner prepared on site is not worth the 40 euro they charge: You can eat the same food (or better), in a nearby restaurant or in Siena for cheaper prices...and without the hair we found in 3(!) dishes. Bottom line: Highly recommended in Spring/Fall, not during (hot) summer days because of lack of AC.

Dear Mr. Andrea First at all thank you for staying with us and for the nice words about the pool, relax, silence & peace and the view.. This are the strong points we have as well as the kindness of the staff which represent the real Tuscan hospitality. I am really really sorry to heard about the inconvenience during the dinner. All our staff now is very sad about that as we always try to be very careful for making the best for our guests. We really apologize " col cuore in mano". I would have preferred knowing your opinion during your stay or at least at check out time so we could talk together with our chefs and understand what happened... As you can notice from the previews reviews another strong point is the home made kitchen with typical Tuscan dishes, all prepared in the afternoon. The dinner at the Relais is an experience for tasting the real Tuscan food as our grandmothers used to do, and our chefs try to remain the most original possible about that. I am sorry you didn't mention that the price is the final one for 4 courses, there is no extra for the water, for the bread, ( neither for the wine in your case) for the service that you would find for sure in other restaurants... I hope to have the possibility to have you here again and talk personally about everything Our best regards to all the family

Un havre de paix entre Sienne et San Gimignano
Hotel situé sur une colline au calme, une belle vue sur la vallée de Sienne. Eglantina est une hôtesse avenante et serviable. L’hôtel ressemble a un petit hameau d'autrefois avec des logements très spacieux (65 m2 avec une kitchenette et deux chambres) et une terrasse très agréable. La piscine au sel est un peu plus haut avec une vue dégagée très sympa avec des bains de soleil. La cuisinière est un cordon bleu et les repas toscans sont copieux et de qualité. Tout est fait maison et c'est très bon. Piste de trail très agréable en partant tôt le matin au dessus de l'hotel. Le soir on a vu deux chevreuils à 50 mètres de l’hôtel. Je vous recommande cet établissement.

This is a beautiful place with character and charm. The hostess is very friendly and helpful. Our family of four enjoyed two nights here in July. The pool provided us a refreshing dip and a time to relax after a lot of running around. The one thing to note is that there is no air con and the fan provided runs very loudly. Also, this place is a good 15 minute drive away from town - very much off the track. But that also meant it was lovely and quiet. Overall, we were charmed.

Bellissima dimora storica
È un posto davvero molto suggestivo, in mezzo alla natura e gode di un panorama fantastico!!! Camera e dimora veramente meravigliose, per non parlare del personale!!! La ragazza che ci ha accolto alla sera per il check-in e che ci ha fatto il check-out la mattina seguente è davvero gentilissima!!! Noi abbiamo dormito in una sorta di appartamento, attrezzato di ogni comfort... Camera da letto molto spaziosa, un bagno nuovissimo e grande, un salotto comprensivo di tavolo e sedie e di un divano per vedere la TV e una cucina attrezzata di qualsiasi cosa. Usciti dall'appartamento, ci si trova su una terrazza dove è possibile godere di un panorama meraviglioso!!! È davvero un bellissimo posto!!! Davvero complimenti!!!

We booked this hotel last minute and wow what a great surprise this was. The staff was the friendliest we've ever seen and the hotel is absolutely gorgeous. If you are looking to relax in a quiet and beautiful setting, and have 4 course meals cooked and served on site (for an extra cost), and lay by an amazing hilltop pool, this is all that and more. It was a perfect stop for us because we wanted all those things. It's about a 20 minute drive to town, and it's a beautiful drive! We can't recommend this enough, and we hope to be back some day.

A little piece of paradise
My husband and I have just returned from 3 nights at Relais La Costa to celebrate my 40th birthday. It was also our first child-free holiday in 6 years. From the moment we were met by Englatina, I knew we had made the right decision about where to stay. She was as friendly and welcoming as the place itself. We relaxed immediately in the beautiful surroundings and had the most incredible room. The wonderful chef, Anglelica, was truly talented and clearly cared that you enjoyed the food. We ate two incredible meals here, one on my birthday. We couldn't praise the staff highly enough, as they were all so kind and welcoming. What a wonderful, wonderful place. I will always remember the special few days we spent with you and hope that before long we will return. Thank you so much for going out of your way to make my 40th birthday ( which I was slightly dreading) truly wonderful.

Fabulous location in the hills above Siena
A fabulous renovated property overlooking Siena. The views were amazing, the property beautiful, the rooms immaculate. It is difficult to say what made our stay so wonderful - the views, the property, the location? All were fabulous but on top of all this was a small team of amazing staff. All were extremely welcoming, with nothing being too much trouble. And then there was the food - absolutely fantastic - from breakfast through to lunch through to dinner - truly delicious, exceptional tastes of Italy. Thank you to everyone at La Costa for a wonderful week.

Country classic living
Three nights at the hotel....isolated a bit from Siena, but only a 10 minute drive back into town when needed. The dinners were typical Tuscan fare that was very well done by the kitchen, good enough in fact that we ate there vs. finding places in town. Recognize that this place is up a gravel road a couple of miles off a secondary road...could be a little hard to remember or get to late at night.

Excellent ! the best in Tuscany
Thanks for the hospitality ! I can never forget the passion of the staffs there as well as the view from the resort. On top of the that, the resort is very convenience for tourist attractions, such as San Giminignano, Siena and factory outlet. Don't miss the dinner there, they provide real Tuscany cuisine made with local agricultural products. All in all, the resort is a 'MUST' if you visit Tuscany!

Schönes Hotel mit viel Charme und Herzlichkeit
Sehr herzlich empfangen, etwa 10km von Siena, aber abgeschieden, ganz ruhig, herrlich. Schönes, grosses Zimmer, zusätzlich eine Küche und Sofa. Privater Eingang. Alles sauber und schön eingerichtet. Wir assen 2x vor Ort. War köstlich in einer sehr familiären Ambiance. Richtige italische Küche. Waren nicht das letzte Mal hier, immer wieder gerne.

What a lovely place. The apartment was perfect with lots of room, easily able to keep the kids apart! Lovely pool to relax in and the evening meals were fantastic - why travel away when they are this good and you can enjoy the wine and not worry about driving.

Der perfekte Ort um die Einzigartigkeit der Landschaft der Toskana nicht nur in einem super Ambiente und in Ruhe zu genießen, sondern von hier aus die wichtigen Orte zu erkunden. Love it! Love it! Love it!
This has got to be one of the best hotels in this part of Italy. It's new but it has old Italy flavor. It was once a house dating back 1,000 years. They built the hotel around the original rock walls of the old house. Everything including the faucets are high quality ... Even the towels are decorated. The apartment has a full kitchen. The unit has beautiful antique pieces of furniture. What a wonderful setting...the pool area is beautiful. The staff is wonderful, helpful and efficient. We WILLL return and hopefully much longer than one night. Come before the prices increase due to its popularity. (Yes, you definitely a car but it's not that far out of the way)

Très bel endroit, en dehors des sentiers battus, Pise à 10 minutes, Lucca (magnifique ville et bien plus reposante que Pise) 20 minutes en voiture. Les hôtes sont très agréables, le pdj est soigné, le restaurant dans la montagne pour ceux qui aiment l'authenticité est incontournable

We wanted a place to chill out a bit in the middle of our tour of northern Italy. This really fit the bill. Make sure you book the dinner and spa for the full effect. The meal is "home cooked". Wonderful people! Thanks!

Non ho soggiornato personalemente, ci ho mandato una mia cliente, è stata benissimo, hotel eccezionale, personale molto gentile e didponibile, unica cosa che mi ha riferito è che il centro benessere è a pagamento, anche solo per l'ingresso si pagano 20 euro per 3 ore. quindi magari un pochino caro, per il resto tutto ottimo!

Un rêve dans un écrin magnifique de nature
Le relais la Costa est une magnifique demeure, élégante, accueillante et chargée d'histoire qui se dresse au milieu d'une nature d'une incroyable beauté. Nous avons été accueillis comme des amis avec beaucoup de chaleur et d'attentions. Notre appartement était spacieux, fonctionnel, décoré avec beaucoup de goût , doté de deux salle-de-bain (dont l'une avec une vasque à remous) ce qui permettait une grande autonomie étant accompagnés de nos enfants. Les repas et petits déjeuner de Madame Angélica étaient délicieux et la cuisine toscane sans cesse renouveler. la demeure la Costa est idéalement située pour visiter les villes de Siena, Volterra, Sangimignano, Montalcino, Pienza.

Quality not quantity
Great facility iin a superb location on the hilltops between Monterigioni and Siena. Newly completed with high standards of fittings. Spa facilities better than places double its size. Staff very attentive at all times.

Beautiful hotel in Romantic Tuscany
Me and my girlfriend stayed here when we were on a road trip through Italy. We booked the hotel for 2 nights and I have never been as disappointed and depressed as I was when we had to leave. We even tried to cancel the hotel we were staying in the following night just so we could have one more day there! First off you must have a car to get there. Give yourself plenty of time to find the place and check the roadsigns instead of your gps. I've seen some people putting this down as a negative but I loved the drive up to it! Once we arrived we were met by the manager who checked us in and gave us a brief history of the hotel and area. He then led us to our apartment which was absolutely beautiful. The apartments have kitchens so you can definitely make your own breakfast or dinner. We opted to have dinner in their small restaurant on the first night. I've never been as full in all my life! The food was amazing, cooked especially for us and two other people by Angelica, an amazing woman who is the house chef and basically the mother of the whole place! Other highlights include the swimming pool which had an unobstructed view of the tuscany landscape, the surrounding area which is full if castles and strongholds and the peacefulness of the place, so quiet and beautiful! If you're thinking of visiting Tuscany, book this hotel. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. We're already planning to return next year for at least 5 days!

Great Hotel
This is a brand new hotel. The building itself was an old stone house, the entire house was renovated without losing its old self. The staff are great and very friendly and helpful. We went during the peak summer heat, the only downside is the lack of air conditioning, the first night was a bit tough for us to sleep. However, the manager arranged a fan for us and that solved the problem for our second evening. Unlike many hotels in the suburb, it's clean and free of leaves and dirt, very well maintain. Overall, this is a great 5 star experience, very relax and the staff are great!

Dear Hank, thank you a lot for your positive feedback. It's not supposed to be so hot (even in summer) at 500mt on the sea level, but this year it was ecceptionally high temperature.
