We became ill in Naples the day before arrival and had to delay our stay by one night. The hotel was able to assign us the same room which was the top suite in the facility at the same cost for a Friday night with no penalty for cancellation. Our room was unbelievable with a wrap-around balcony, bedstyle lounge outdoor shower and a magnificent view of the harbor, bay and Vesuvius. The room was elgant with tiled floors and a small table and chairs to enjoy wine and cheese while watching the seagulls fly below us at sunset. Breakfast was lovely and the short 8 minute walk downhill to Sorrento restaurants , shops churches was rewarding and invigorating. Staff was first class and helpful by setting up a taxi ride to Pompeii upon departure. On a final note the rainhead i our hot tub spa shower was broken and the staff had it entirely replaced and fixed despite the discovery on a Friday nght at 6 pm. To have that service performed in a matter of hours while we had dinner in town is a testament to the excellence of the hotel staff. We have stayed at fabulous hotels with breathtaking views from our rooms in Ireland, Hawaii, France and Sonoma Valley the Hotel Tonnarella is permanently ensconced alongside those memories.

We loved our stay in the hotel. It has an amazing view on Vesuvius. Staff was incredibly helpful. Will definitely recommend.

Property has a wonderful view looking back at Sorrento. The beach area was not well maintained. The walls are thin and could hear the room above using the toilet and all sounds associated with that. Could hear the room next door having sex. Not the most enjoyable experience. It is walkable to town and had a pretty view. Wouldn’t stay here again.

El hotel está muy bonito. Desde que llegamos la explicación y atención del encargado fue buenísima. La habitación que nos tocó estaba amplia y bien distribuida, solo que el desagüe de la ducha olía mal en ocasiones. Es accesible caminando desde el centro de Sorrento (1.2 km - 15 mins). Se puede llegar en bus (Vía Capo) y la parada queda a 1 minuto caminando. Tiene un área de playa privada, aunque como fuimos a finales de octubre, no habían amenidades disponibles. El dasayuno estaba incluido, completo y buen servicio. En general, lo recomiendo y me volvería a quedar.

Great friendly staff and grounds. We had a private terrace outside our room with a view that might have made it the best hotel room we’ve ever stayed in. Breakfast was extremely well done with many choices of foods. The front desk was pleasant and efficient and always had answers to our questions. They summoned cabs for us on request also.

This is by far the most unique and beautiful hotel that we have ever stayed in! The location was a 15 min walk to the city center and on the peak of a beautiful cliff that give you the most amazing view of Sorrento the marinas and the Mediterranean. The patio off of our room had room for 20 people with 2 chase loungers and a table with chairs and an umbrella. The glass doorwall to the patio was HUGe and gave you an amazing view while open or closed. the small room had (2) flat screen TV's, a mini bar, a place to make in room coffee or tea and a very updated lighting and cooling system. This was the best room of our 14 day Italy vacation. If we return to Sorrento this will be our only choice for a hotel.

Everything was great. This hotel is a outside the busy, touristy area of Sorrento, so it is nice and quiet. The views are beautiful and the restaurant had the best fried shrimp and calamari ever!

This is a charming property with fabulous views. Our room was huge with a wrap around patio, pergola with wisteria vines, a bed and outside shower - not to mention the most incredible views of the sea. The bathroom had a huge ceramic tile jacuzzi tub. Our dinner and breakfast was excellent. The staff was very kind and helpful. There is an elevator that takes you down to their beach area, although you do have a small walk after you get off the elevator, just be aware of that. All this said, the only thing keeping this resort from being a 5 star review was that it appeared to have had better days, and perhaps it has been difficult since covid. The bed was not comfortable, the water flow and temperature in the shower/tub was not consistent, the beach area was run down somewhat. Our patio had not appeared to have been cleaned up before we arrived, so there was leaves/sticks all over the place (yes it was windy, so hard to know) You had to carry your own bags to your room which involved navigating stairs. We enjoyed our time there! Just know that there are a few minor issues that prevent this charming place from being 5 stars.

The most friendly staff from the concierge to the waiters, everyone was unbelievably nice. The restaurant on site was great either at the beach for lunch or their terrace for dinner. The food was incredible.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Our room was the most beautiful hotel room I have even been in. The views from our balconies were stunning. The hotel is quiet and safe and easy to navigate. There are steps but very manageable. The breakfast was delicious and the terrace restaurant was amazing food and view at night was spectacular. Would Sedona stay here again and recommend to anyone staying in sorrento. The easy walk 10 to 15 min walk to city center is very enjoyable views on the walk we’re beautiful

Absolutely incredible stay. My husband and I spent four nights here and it felt like home by the end (though much more beautiful than our actual home). The reception desk went above and beyond for us to help us get a taxi when we made a mistake. The wait staff was so friendly and accommodating. The views are unreal. Beach is a little oasis. Beautiful walk to the center of town. When we come back to Sorrento we will stay here.

Terrible Room.
We booked a junior suite for one night. We were told is was an amazing room (and more expensive than most). We got a room next to the reception/front desk - so it was super loud and starting at 6AM we would hear people coming and leaving and making a lot of noise. Terrible experience.

5464 Views for Days Review of La Tonnarella Reviewed 1 week ago via mobile The pictures are just what you see. Gorgeous views, sea breezes, and sun. The rooms are relatively large with spacious bathrooms, lovely amenities. A short 15 minute walk down the hill to the central historic section so it is really quite quiet. There is a secret beach for hotel guests accessed via a path/elevator where you can take an afternoon rest after exploring Sorrento. Breakfast setting is spectacular, food choices were good. Tip: Reserve parking when you book. If you want to splurge on a room with a view and a private terrace during your holiday, this is where.

Just outside of town of Sorrento, short 10 minute walk. Amazing views from most all rooms (with balconies) service is excellent, excellent dining on location, breakfast with eggs, bacon, plus fresh fruit and more.

What a beautiful old building with tons of Italian charm! We loved it. The private beach is a little unkept and the day we were there it was taken over by locals. The rooms are dated but well appointed.

We had an amazing (and large) private balcony, overlooking the sea, giving us an incredible sea view over the bay. The room was a good size with a good size bathroom with jacuzzi spa and lights, however a stand up shower would have been nice. We used the outside hose as a refreshing shower instead. Breakfast was good, the restaurant excellent. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would recommend to anyone. My only drawback is (due to me having a bad knee) it’s a 15 minute walk into anywhere (but literally everything you want is only a 15/20 minute walk) so personally I could have been more centrally located. I was gutted only on my last day did I see the stairs to our private beach.
