Great location
Location is very good. It is in the center of downtown. It has a carpark (not free though). Room was slightly old, but nicely maintained. Not a luxury hotel, but ok with family trip

Great location
Great location and friendly staff. Rooms are not completely soundproofed but pretty decent. Pool was small but lovely and warm - towels provided and good shower. Gym good too. Room could have been cleaner though.

Great stay and loved that they were very welcoming to our dog. Room service was prompt and food really good. Really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely visit again

Staff were in need of leadership. Slow service, poor communication and lack of attention. All were perfectly pleasant but had the feeling that nobody quite knew what they were meant to be doing.

Das Hotel liegt sehr gut ist jedoch in die Jahre gekommen und braucht dringend eine Renovierung. Das Bett ist sehr gut, Zimmer ist auch ruhig. Kerzt das Negative: Bad eine Katastrophe. Schimmel in der Dusche, Dusche undicht. Badezimmertür lässt sich nicht schliessen, aufgequollene Tür. Temperatur Dusche und Zimmer lässt sich nicht regeln. Frühstück durchwachsen. Pilze total trocken, Rührei wässrig. Kaum Auswahl an Brot und Wurst. Für 85 € ok aner für 180€ unverschämt

A tired hotel in need of investment, redecoration and improved room facilities (e.g. better power socket locations and USB charge points). Was re-roomed due to extractor fan issue in shower room - exactly the same issue encountered in new room - was fobbed off by desk staff over this. There was zero extraction as tested by tissue paper and verified by a helpful member of staff. Laughably small bath tub - over-tub shower was acceptable. Replacement room had hair ball on toilet floor, and a loose front plate on 240V outlet socket - gap large enough for a child to put finger into socket. Reported to desk staff - no enthusiasm from them to escalate or re-room. Felt like they knew that the hotel was shabby. Fitness centre was basic but functional - lacked equipment wipedown provision - enforcing the sense of a grubby hotel. Many hand sanitiser dispensers in hotel were empty of sanitiser. Breakfast buffet was basic - bland tasteless orange juice from machine, rock hard pancakes. Ordered poached eggs for them to turn up with foreign object on plate. Complained to desk staff and asked for manager to be informed of issues - but this was not followed up. A very disappointing experience. The high prices charged are a joke - do yourself a favour and stay at the much nicer Mercure next door - the Novotel is way overpriced for the experience.

Great staff who are very helpful. This hotel is very well located in the very centre of Sheffield with a large range of restaurants and shops a few minutes walk away. There is a secure car park.

The TV in my room wasn’t working, and I asked for it to be fixed 4 times. Each time I was told it would be sorted and it never was. I was also told I could request late check out up until 12pm on the day of check out and then on the day of check out I was told this wasn’t the case! We were forced out early after needing more time! We were not even offered an apology by the manager for any of these issues. A very bad stay.

Not overly satisfying stay.
The staff weren’t the friendliest- the lady who checked us in on the other hand was extremely lovely but every staff member we encountered after them wasn’t the same, all had an attitude of having something better to do / be. Room service, to deliver 2 drinks took over 40 minutes- so ended cancelling. Other guests at the hotel were being extremely loud & even when reported to staff, nothing was done.

The decore in places is still in the 70s ie woodchip on toilet walls and loo outdated. Breakfast was terrible complete waste of money, i tried it a second time incase it was a one off but no it was as bad as the first. The staff were very helpful but i shall not be returning.

A budget hotel for a not so budget price
Dad and I booked 2 rooms for 2 nights and we were both very disappointed with our stay having previously stayed in lovely Novotels. Entrance to hotel room (number 324) :- As I placed the plastic card in the holder to operate the light, the cover broke off. There was no electric which was inconvenient. Unfortunately, it was at 11:20pm. A quick repair was made by a staff member using blu tack! A further repair was made in the morning, sellotape still remains on the cover! Two small plastic pieces remain on the floor which had not been hoovered up. An apology was given from the maintenance guy but reception's attitude was "these things happen". I noticed it was loose on check in. Surely a housekeeping issue to report to maintenance? My Dad aged 77 requested a bath mat 3 times (on the 3rd occasion a bath mat was delivered. He had already gone 1 day without one. This is not good when he is not good on feet Both toilets were difficult to flush There was mould within the shower cubicle seal. The pillows were not comfortable. There wereno sachets of hot chocolate, bottled water, robes or slippers etc. It felt as though corners have been cut. Breakfast was like faulty towers. The tea making facilities were out of order for 2 days. I had to ask for bowls, milk, the hot water flask was empty. The swimming pool was warm but changing room was tiny. There were no bags for wet costume or a machine to help dry it. Check out time is at 12 which was good. Location is good for the city centre.

Hotel was nice and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and contunually brought out fresh hot items. Great location for the centre.
