Great Food.
The Hotel is looking a little tired, the room was small and dated and the shower didnt work in the morning, the food in the restaurant was amazing , both Dinner and Breakfast, and the staff very good. No EV charging point available.

The indoor pool was closed and Expedia should have made that clear when I booked, because if I had known it was closed I would have booked elsewhere

The gym, pool and spa have been closed for almost 2 years. We no longer advertise these services.

The website and all 3rd party sites show that our facilities are closed. We no longer advertise a pool, gym or spa.

Bit of a shame
Stay was ok, the room was nice unfortunatly all of the leisure facilities were closed and we had not been told. We had been looing forward to a Spa visit, gym, pool etc then there was also a games room which was just full of chairs, dust and a snooker table you couldnt use.

Great views great staff great stay!!!
I’ve stayed before and it was bang on food fantastic, staff fabulous and I git a room recently for an amazing price. The staff are just so good, quite a rarity in my opinion. I’ll definitely return and make sure others know how great this place is!!

£90 a night,,could of got same or better at a £30 a night place,,theres no milk in the room for morning coffee,,i went down for a bar snack last night £12,50 for a cheese burger,,dont think so, ile starve first, rooms tiny ,showers got no presure ,id like at least half my money back,dont think ile be getting it,wont be stopping here again ,

After having a rough day getting there with taxis and trains being all over the place the receptionist on the night and the morning after was amazing she had a smile on her face all the time and gave the best customer service! Upgraded my room just because she was nice and my day had been poop. The room was beautiful clean and warm!! Shower was lovely roomy as well! Couldn’t of asked for a better stay or a better team at a hotel thanks guys! ❤️

Lovely place
Beautiful room, it is an older building and needs a little tlc in places but nothing too major. Our room was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The only downfall for me was the breakfast, after being reasurred there was gluten free options and the substitutes would be available, I was told the beans, mushrooms, bacon and eggs were fine, but the chef walked away, before i could ask about bread or any substitution of hash browns or sausage. What I had was lovely quality though.

Small single room, clean, paper cup and wooden stick...not sure how this works if you want more than one brew during your stay. Breakfast ok but felt rushed to order hot food which arrived before I had finished cereal. Gym and spa facilities closed due to Covid....not sure why when all other gyms are open. Overall the hotel felt a bit tired and in need of refreshing.

Upon arrival to room, master key for room left in door from housekeeping so not secure. Nice toiletries, no hairdryer, room stuffy and dark. Bathroom badly configured ( males unable to stand using toilet) but all in all a good nights sleep. Did not pay for breakfast. Staff on reception are very friendly and polite.

Lovely stay at Owston for my family as usual. However a few things were disappointing. We've stayed many times and never before been charged a 'damage' fee which came as a shock to my Daughter's purse. Resolved by me calling and adding to my cc. They also charged £15 for a child's breakfast as the adults were included. Extortionate but it is what it is..we would always return as overall its a lovely convenient place to stay as we have family in the area.

Tried 4 rooms all disgusting, left the hotel
Tried 4 different rooms all were unclean, dirty, smells. One room had about 20 flies flying around the room and bathroom. About 10 more were dead on the window sill. Paint peeling from the walls, very out dated. Lady on the desk was excellent, canceled my room and refunded

Good value for a country retreat.
Good value country hotel with some beautiful stone buildings surrounded by well maintained gardens and 9 hole golf course. Asking for a £50 damage waiver/room on arrival was a little disconcerting, apparently imposed due in part to the occassional boisterous golf society dinners they host, although we did not witness any poor behaviour from our fellow guests. On the whole a comfortable hotel with friendly staff and a reasonable restaurant.

Not worth the bug bites
Left the hotel with over 30 bug bites on my back alone. Had over 40 altogether. Thought it might of been mosquitoes at first but ended up with bites underneath my underwear and on my feet making me think it might be bed bugs! Eww! Food was average, ordered a rare rib eye stake for £25 wich came well done and smothered in black pepper (I hate pepper, would of liked to of known becore hand it would come like this.). There was a rat that had been killed within 10m of the entrance to the hotel which hadn't been moved the next morning over 12 hours from being killed despite being a few feet from the reception. No fans available from reception, in a top story annex made it a very hot and uncomfortable few days stay.

Thank you for your feedback. Owston Hall is located in a picturesque village surrounded by miles of landscaped beauty. We are lucky and proud to experience a lot of wildlife around the hotel grounds, on this occasion an animal had passed away close to the building. The staffed quickly and quietly dealt with the situation upon hearing the complaint. Our gorgeous 17th century building is surrounded by woodland, the golf course and fields, unfortunately if windows are left ajar midges etc can get in. Fans are available at reception on request. Most room already have them in. Please contact the hotel directly to discuss this further.

Nice hotel but all the facilities were still closed. This was not stated on booking and certainly not reflected in the price.

End of conversation Felt sorry fir the gir and man doing breakfast service, they were run off there feet poor management Large stain on carpet next to bed looked like it had been cleaned with bleach We asked fir another towel and cup snd receptionist just gave them to us didn’t offer to get them taken done Ceilings were covered in spiders and cobwebs in all the halls Lovely place just needs a bit of tlc

Nice rooms & staff helpful, quiet maybe too
Room was spacious and cleaned. Very quiet and had a peaceful feel about the place. Staff helpful and friendly. Dinning was limited on a Sunday, but the menu for the other days looked interesting with some good choices. As the spa and swimming pool were closed, not much to do apart from golf.
