The staff was the best and made my short stay a very pleasant one. The front desk manager Akalanka was one of the best. The tuk tuk driver the hotel arranged was also very professional.

Friendly staff with good sri Lankan food.

The staff was so friendly and willing to help all the time. During the first day two young boys were so fast with the breakfast serving but during the second day it was damn slow. But the food was so nice and the it had the real sri lankan flavor. The room was renovated in recent time the room is in a good condition.

Lovely staff but slightly tired hotel

We booked 2 rooms for the kids and us since they did not have a triple room during our stay. The rooms were spacious and relatively clean. However the bathrooms had problems. The sink didn't work in one room so we were moved to different rooms. The sink in one of the new rooms had a similar problem but we sorted that out with hand plunging and boiling water. The staff were very nice and helpful and we felt bad asking them to sort out various problems with the remote, A/C, etc. They did sort everything out for us quite quickly. Overall a functional family-friendly hotel with a good pool, a pretty good location, nice staff and nice food. This is a mid range hotel and I would assume one of the better ones in Anuradapura.

Never again

Started off on a bad note. Don’t expect to get the room you booked online .We were given a room with two single beds instead of the double deluxe .The staff said to bad that’s all we have even though we booked in advance . The solution just push them together . Very poor reception and service. Breakfast was very below par . The shower head fell and cut my husbands foot . Would not recommend booking on line as you do not get what you book.

It is located in a convenient location. Staff is friendly. They asked for my wife's ID too, probably because we are locals. Room is small, it has 2 single bets cant merged together. The terrible thing was AC went down in the night, seems chiller was switched off in the night. I didn't have a good sleep. The bathroom was bit outdated and stains on the commode. Garden and pool are wonderful. Food is good.

While the hotel itself was pretty good, they gave us a ground floor pool facing room which meant we could never open our curtains and let the sunlight in. Also, our phone was broken and so i had to go every time to the reception to get things done, even room service and housekeeping etc.

Excellent hotel to stay in Anuradhapura

Rajarata is an excellent hotel with good service from its staff. It is clean, comfortable and provides friendly atmosphere. I won't mind staying in the hotel if I have to visit Sri Lanka again in the near future. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone planning to visit Anuradhapura.

Basic, clean hotel with good beds

Good beds, very good service, nice staff. Ordinary hotel, nice pool but sun beds lack madress. Good food but restaurant is not cosy.

Hotel was excellent with helpful staff and good pool and breakfast. Sites to visit are distant from most places, but receptionist was able to arrange hire of a bicycle. This was a good way to get around but the heat was still a bit oppressive.

少し予算を抑えたいビジネス観光客向け

決して豪華で立派なホテルではありませんが、『寝るだけ』と思っていらっしゃる方にはコスパの良いホテルと思います。清潔感や快適度も問題ないです。朝食もローカルに根付いていますが、食べやすいものを中心に整えてくれてます。観光への立地は遺跡まで車で10分の距離なので、足のない方は不便です。

This is a very modern hotel with clean rooms and a good breakfast, but there were some annoying service problems. Firstly they gave us a room with 3 twins when we booked one with a double, so we complained and they moved us to a family room with a king. After an hour or so of chilling in the room, taking a shower, unpacking, the staff knocked on the door and asked us if we would move rooms because they just booked a family. They asked if it was ok — definitely not OK! But we obliged and moved to a double room. Why didn’t they just put us in the open double to begin with? Secondly, there were two steps leading down to the balcony and my wife fell down the steps and almost cracked her head open! What kind of balcony has stairs to it?! Ridiculous. Thirdly, the air conditioner, which looks highly advanced for Sri Lanka all built into the ceiling, was extremely confusing to operate and kept on turning off in the middle of the night and beeping, waking us up multiple times. A little instructions to understand the Chinese remote would have been helpful. We wanted to rent bikes but they werent available, but we only found this out after waiting at reception for 15 minutes. They need more front desk staff. Clean rooms, but the little annoyances take away from the rating.
