This is a very modern hotel with clean rooms and a good breakfast, but there were some annoying service problems. Firstly they gave us a room with 3 twins when we booked one with a double, so we complained and they moved us to a family room with a king. After an hour or so of chilling in the room, taking a shower, unpacking, the staff knocked on the door and asked us if we would move rooms because they just booked a family. They asked if it was ok — definitely not OK! But we obliged and moved to a double room. Why didn’t they just put us in the open double to begin with?
Secondly, there were two steps leading down to the balcony and my wife fell down the steps and almost cracked her head open! What kind of balcony has stairs to it?! Ridiculous.
Thirdly, the air conditioner, which looks highly advanced for Sri Lanka all built into the ceiling, was extremely confusing to operate and kept on turning off in the middle of the night and beeping, waking us up multiple times. A little instructions to understand the Chinese remote would have been helpful.
We wanted to rent bikes but they werent available, but we only found this out after waiting at reception for 15 minutes. They need more front desk staff.
Clean rooms, but the little annoyances take away from the rating.
