Amazing experience, I will be back!
I loved this hotel so much. The hotel itself was beautiful, clean and historic. The pool was amazing and the grounds were great. Above all of it was that the staff was so incredible. They were helpful and kind. I was traveling alone and the restaurant manager was completely helpful to me, giving me tips and also prepared a special seafood meal for me that was one of the best i have ever had. I will definitely come back here next time im in Sri Lanka!

A beautiful property, the highlight was dinner in the garden, and the monkeys jumping from tree to tree around the pool, the children loved it, we wished we had stayed for longer than 1 night. This is the second time we have tried Asia Leisure properties and they always meet all our expectations.

Beautiful, tranquil hotel with lush gardens
This is a superb hotel in every way. The plantation home is full of charm, interesting architecture and furnishings. The gardens, pool and courtyards are beautiful, tranquil, and full of wildlife and flowers. While we had a cocktail overlooking the pool, we saw a parade of monkeys, wild peacocks, and many other birds. The rooms are spacious and gorgeous, as are the bathrooms, and everything is in impeccable condition. Finally, the restaurant food (we had 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts at the hotel) was excellent.

A beautiful old hotel. The architecture is stunning. The pool area is especially lovely. The staff are the best I have experienced in a long time; very accommodating... always there with a smiling face ready to help you. The bar men serve the best Dry Martini's in Sri Lanka! I highly recommend staying here if you want to be out of Galle Fort for a change.

Overall an ok visit. Staff were good. Very quiet with only 1 other couple there for 1 of the 2 nights. Plenty of staff there and I wonder why the pool could not have been cleaner. It was a poor look!!!. The top edges of the pool were too dirty all around and surely with no guests it should have been pristine. As for the room... my door had a very low height which is bizarre. I whacked my head twice before i could see the prolem !!! Please warn your tall guests. Also, the bathroom was like a sauna and very uncomfortable. Once again..why ??? You rate yourself 5 star..Mmm. Big room could have had a desk, no wine glasses there, old small fridge, bathroom has a crazy big shower area so water went everywhere. Be ok if u have a cricket team staying in the room. They could have a shower and sauna at the same time. Aircon unit in room very noisy too. Upside was the bar and the food I had was excellent.

A Haven of peace
This former British officer's mansion is an amazing place to stay near Galle's...less than 5 minutes by tuk tuk...I love the high ceilings in the lobby and the rooms.. Everything was super clean and the service wonderful. We even had a peacock in the garder entertaining us during breakfast. I really enjoyed the long swimming pool. It was nice to relax there😀

Fantastic setting
The hotel was absolutely excellent, very comfortable, lovely staff, amazing breakfast and a beautiful pool area. It’s slightly out of town but a short tuk tuk ride away from the main sights and worth it for the historic building and setting.

Old School Charm
Hotel was set on beautiful grounds. The pool, outside bar and courtyard were amazing. Rooms were spacious and the private back gardens were a nice touch. Breakfast was wonderful and would recommend pre-ordering the Sri Lankan breakfast and eating outside in the morning! You might even see a peacock if you get lucky!

Tranquil, high quality hotel
lovely setting with beautiful grounds, nice pool and very spacious, clean rooms. Staff all very friendly and attentive. Quite a lot of mosquitos in the gardens so take some spray.

Historic Gem
Really amazing colonial hotel set on the hill just outside Galle. The hotel only has 10 rooms, all of significant portions, and each room is wonderfully decorated. Nothing much surrounding the area, so prepare to Tuk Tuk to Galle for any activities/supplies you may need. Hotel staff were very friendly.

Oasis in hectic Galle
We stayed just one night on our journey from the south back to Galle. Great hotel where it was easy to imagine you were back in colonial Ceylon. Rooms very comfortable, huge bed with great pillows (not always the case in Sri Lanka). Stunning pool. Great food served in the restaurant at sensible prices. Quiet place to stay so if there for more than one night you may choose to eat somewhere else. Just 10 mins by tuc tuc to the fort

Exquisite pampering experience in old colonial hou
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and were treated to a special dinner by the hotel staff. The hotel is full of charm and ambience. The staff are always trying to find ways to make you happy. It was my return to Ceylon after 60 years after leaving as a 4 year old boy. We enjoyed a jungle tour by boat behind the hotel and saw many monkeys birds and beautiful plants. The pool was excellent. One of the highlights for my wife was feeding the wild peacock.

Spacious.
The room was spacious and quiet with a little courtyard but there were alot of mosquitos and the toiletries and towels were not replenished. Staff went above and beyond. Breakfast was great.

Small hotel (I think 12 rooms). It is a terrific room (ask just to see the Captain's Room). Really big and comfortable. Food is outstanding. Service is too good. Internet works well. Not a problem, but nothing is walking distance. You need a tuk-tuk to go anywhere. It is usually just a few dollars. They have some reliable drivers. For $10-$12 they take you to dinner, wait, and deliver you home. I think this is true for almost anywhere that you would want to stay in Galle.

Charming little place on the outskirts of Galle. To be clear, if you want to walk around colonial Fort and look at the cute buildings, you'll need to take a $4/ten min tuk tuk ride. Not a huge deal, just something to be aware of. Gorgeous building and they did a great job. I stayed in the Capitan's Suite, and had a bathroom the size of a Manhattan apartment. Decent food. Good Sri Lankan breakfast with hoppers, etc if you are into that. Not much going on in the immediate around the hotel, so expect to go into Galle Fort to eat/hangout/sight see or take a trip down the coast to some of the numerous beaches. Charming staff. Note: if you have children, they'll love seeing the rabbits, turtles, peacocks, mongeese (is that the plural?) and monkeys that run wild over the property, so that was a nice added bonus.

酒店并不在老城里面，离市中心比较远。但是进了酒店里，发现里面十分的幽静，很是漂亮。生态环境好的不得了，看见了兔子，松鼠，猴子，还有各种鸟。房间很大，是个休息的好地方。早餐一般。

Excellent Colonial home just 2km from Galle Fort
We celebrated a perfect 16th wedding anniversary in The Admiral suite at Tamarind Hill and absolutely loved it. Many hours were spent on the wide colonial verandah, reading and relaxing. The days were beautiful, sunny and warm 30ish. The verandah had a constant but gentle cooling breeze making it ideal for whiling away an afternoon. The colonial home (hotel) is a little out town surrounded by natural bushland. The only sounds were the local wildlife, monkeys and peacocks, both of which wander the property. It was extremely peaceful and relaxing, sitting and reading on the verandah or beside the pool. If you want a quiet spot near Galle Fort and the experience of on old colonial mansion, you can't beat Tamarind Hill, The Admiral' room. You can really get a sense of the luxury they enjoyed. The master bedroom was enormous with a traditional four poster bed, mozzy netting and antique ceiling fans. The bedroom included sitting and dressing areas. The ensuite is bigger than most hotel rooms. There was a further sitting room / launch with matching size to the bedroom. This was all topped off with two of our own private balconies. It was all very indulgent. The alcohol was about half the price of anywhere in Galle with a G&T for about $4 US. Meals where good, but Galle Fort is also a 5 minute slow Tuk Tuk ride away if you wanted a broader selection.

Lovely little hotel minutes from Galle Fort
We stayed four nights at the Tamarind Hill and the room, restaurant and gardens were fantastic. They have a lovely swimming pool in the garden but could do with getting rid of the cumbersome daybeds and replacing them with a few more sun longers plus parasols that can be moved more easily as there is very little shade while at the pool. Otherwise, the staff were lovely, the food excellent(breakfast and dinner - try the curry!), rooms nicely appointed and the hotel positioned just five minutes by tuk tuk from Galle Fort. Breakfast on the terrace (a la carte which was a lovely change from the usual buffets) with the local peacock displaying his feathers is a setting that would be hard to match anywhere!

Superb old colonial style hotel
Our greeting by Sameera and "Bonny" when we arrived was warm and friendly. Suresh and the restaurant team where excellent. The whole experience was the best throughout our trip in Sri Lanka.

One word to describe this hotel- Class. We miss the lovely rabbits in the garden, they are so adorable.

Halte sympatique dans une atmostphère coloniale
Style chambre d'hôtes plutôt qu'hôtel. Pas de réception et pas d'endroit où il y quelqu'un en permanence si vous avez besoin de quelque chose.L'ensemble de la propriété est plutôt sympa mais la cour intérieure engazonnée manque, pour moi, de plantes et de fleurs. La chambre est grande, assez bien équipée mais l'absence de fenêtre la rend assez lugubre car très sombre. Dans la chambre, il y a une porte fenêtre vitrée qui donne sur une toute petite cour privative clôturée par de très hauts murs. Il faut pratiquement de la lumière tout le temps. La salle de douche est également très grande et très dépouillée : une grande pièce sans aucune séparation avec douche au mur, WC et meuble avec vasques. Lorsque vous prenez une douche, l'eau se repend sur le sol sur une grande partie de la pièce. La réceptionniste et le personnel sont très attentionnés. Le soir, la chambre est préparée, des bouteilles d'eau sont à disposition avec un chocolat. Le petit déjeuner servi à table est simple et correct mais le service est trop lent à mon gout.

A true Sri Lankan gem.
The rooms are both beautiful and tranquil (and the a/c created perfect air both in temperature and quality - it actually inhales like fresh air: a unique and very appreciated outcome when it's very hot and extremely humid outside the door!). Each of our rooms had their own mini (fully private) courtyards and, as for the ensuites, the almost 'outdoor' shower set-up was fabulous! Note: Our party travelled as 3 colleagues with 3 rooms which caused the only hiccup: Hotels.com couldn't make the booking on-line however the Call Centre assisted quickly and cleanly.

A beautiful hotel.
The photograph did not do it justice but I had getting a good shot myself. We enjoyed the animals and birds around the place and the food was excellent. Two days was not long enough so we will have to come back.

Lovely stay!
Lovely place and a very beautiful room, villa and pool area. Really enjoyed the breakfast with a big selection of eggs, juice and so on. The sri lankan omelette was really good, and the service at the restaurant was eccelent! I would definitely stay at Tamarind again. On the minus side, the nearest beach was pretty ruff, but a 15 min tuk-tuk ride takes you to the lovely Unawatuna beach.

Great secluded getaway, convenient to attractions
Selected Tamarind Hills based on positive Trip Advisor reviews and it did not disappoint. Fast efficient check in, clean spacious room, chef's preparations were creative and delicious. I will definitely check into Tamarind Hills again on my next visit to the Galle area.

Beautiful colonial style hotel
Tamarind Hill is a stunning boutique hotel in a quiet surrounding. It's very close to the Galle Fort, but provides a very private, secluded and enjoyable stay away from the city buzz. The staff was friendly and courteous. Only downer was that their spa was closed during our stay there, since the only staff allocated to it was on leave. But Jetwing Lighthouse Hotel was within walking distance with spa treatments at a lower rate. All in all, it was a lovely place to stay to unwind.

Comfortable stay in an old Dutch House.
The room and bathroom is comfortable. However the aircon has no power and the room is very warm unless the fan is switched on simultaneously. Breakfast is excellent and the staff are very helpful.
