Wij verbleven in een van de suites op de tweede verdieping - heerlijk ruime kamer en badkamer. Mooie groene plek, waar we ons erg thuis voelden. Het aardige personeel droeg daar ook zeker aan bij!

Disappointing
No WiFi in room  Food served with hair and salty, however our waiter Suzee has been excellent and has turned tge bad experience jnto somthing memorable. He is an asset to this hotel. Passengers train going through the compound day and night. Yes you have heard it correctly.  No do not disturb sign so get knocked regularly by staff to check if you had ordered beer etc... Set this aside the beach is excellent, however very dirty which was a put off. Would i return no.

Awesome location, friendly staff (esp. Sumundu), resonable pricing incl. half-board. Even the old fashioned tube tv and the loud A/C still makes this a recommendation. The railway between hotel is very special...

We have stayed at the Wunderbar hotel 5 times over the years . It just keeps drawing us back. We love the location ,the food and the friendly helpful staff . The train that passes the restaurant just adds to the character of this gem of a hotel !

Very Good
Wunderbar Beach Hotel is a very nice hotel in an excellent location, right on the beach. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and it was kept very clean. Breakfast was very good and SuzieLee was an excellent waiter. Unfortunately dinner wasn’t particularly good and it’s a little way into town.

My daughter and I had a great week at Wunderbar Hotel and decided to spend a few more days because we loved the beach and setting so much. The staff was extremely helpful, arranged pretravel Covid testing, and airportbtransfer for us. We always felt safe on the beach and property, there was a staff member on duty at the beach every day, and plenty of lounge chairs, beach towels and umbrellas to stay comfortable. I would definitely return!

The hotel room is very spacious, but the railway became extremely busy during my stay. The railway is located right next to the beach and the train turned into a live water monitor. The hotel stay was restless and exhausting. Even when I left the hotel, their taxi driver also play tricks by skipping from the express highway. It seemed that sth. was going on there like the mania from the new year event.

Good location close to beach. Nice spacious rooms. Comfy beds. Huge balcony. Restaurant a little pricey. We were asked to move rooms part waY through stay as hotel had overbooked.

Noisy, old facility
Train is just next to the room, can't sleep. I already paid for 2 nights, didn't know that train is so close. Bad luck the 2nd night is new year's eve, I lost over USD 200+ ......

почти все-хорошо и даже отлично
Заселение- отваратительно на ресепшене.Второй раз в этом отеле нервотрепка .Все время не могут найти наше бронирование и "качают" права,навязывая собственное.Несмотря на то ,что ты показываешь им паспорт и распечатанное свое бронирование,в которое они даже не смотрят.Это очень напрягает после длительного перелета.Просьба -к администрации отеля заняться образованием принимающих.Такой прием- не гуманный.ну очень неприветственный! Питание-очень приличное.Обильное и вкусное.Рекомендую брать полупансион.Ужины-великолепные и обходятся гораздо дешевле чем ходить отдельно по разным местам.. и все это с видом на море и на закат..Только на завтрак в этот раз почему-то не предлагали йогурт.Надо бы меню на завтрак.Официанты-хорошие и улыбчивые.Рядом бухта ,где можно купаться с детьми с чистейшей водой.Никаких проблем с лежаками и полотенцами,бассейн круглосуточно. Экскурсии брали у Светланы,у нее же и трансфер.все очень достойно.В соседнем отеле проходят по пятницам дискотеки .По соотношению цена -качество ,считаю -один из удачных вариантов.Бассейн,интернет,великолепные ужины.доброжелательный персонал(кроме бестолковок на ресепшене).рекомендую..

When I booked the hotel from Expedia they mentioned that it was a 4 stars hotel. But when I arrived it was catastrophic. Unclean towels, no bed covers, very dirty place lot of insects on the bed. I was shocked. It was the biggest disappointment of my life! But I said, let's stay! Let's try a new experience! But I couldn't. I lost temper and patience. I decided to leave back to my country on the same day. Sri Lanka is a nice country but this disgusting hotel pushed me to leave. I lost my money and got frustrated because of a filthy disgusting hotel! Why to hell do you say it's a 4 stars?! I really wanted to stay in Sri lanka to explore its beauty but I couldn't! It's never a 4 stars hotel! It's an old abandoned dirty house!

Hotel zum Wohlfühlen
Schöner langer Sandstrand. Hotel stellte Liegen und Standtücher großzügig zur Verfügung. Jeden Tag wurden Kaffee, Tee und Trinkwasser im Zimmer aufgefüllt. Täglich neue Wäsche. Essen im Restaurant war etwas enttäuschend.

The staff was really friendly and attentive. The beach was lovely. We had a great time and felt really well taken care of. I like family run hotels for the personal touch, and this one had it in spades.

Lugnt ställe att varva ner på
Bra hotell och väldigt trevlig personal, Bentota i sig har inte jättestort utbud av restauranger och de som finns är rätt dyra. Wunderbar har dock bra mat till bra pris, goda kalla röda viner och live trubadurer. Stranden är näst intill tom vilket för stället underbart.

Superb hotel at end of holiday
We had four nights at Wunderbar, 2 adults and 1 child. We had a triple room over looking the pool and it was lovely. The hotel is right by a beautiful beach and has shops and restaurants nearby. We had a wonderful time at this hotel, every single member of staff was friendly, polite, helpful, professional and made our stay truly enjoyable. My son loved the pool which was clean and safe. The restaurant was lovely with a great breakfast and a wide choice of meals catering for every taste. The family who own the hotel made us feel very welcome as did all the staff. The room Was spotless and cleaned everyday, the reception staff were helpful and always on hand and resolved any issues quickly without fuss. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it :)

Charmigt litet hotell. Nära egen fin sandstrand. Höga vågor men pool finns på hotellet. Sämst var duschen. Ingen gummimatta och duschdraperi, det var tur att vi klarade oss från fall på det hala golvet. Personalen trevlig med bra service. Solstolarna på stranden stod i en förskräcklig oordning, dåligt intryck på den fina stranden.

Das "Wunderbar" ist ist ein kleineres Hotel mit persönlicher Atmosphäre. Es ist eines der wenigen mit Sonnenschirmen und Liegen direkt am Meer. Das Personal ist seeehr freundlich und erfüllt jegliche Wünsche sofort. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet, die Zimmer sind geräumig, der Balkon überdacht. Lange Strandspaziergänge am traumhaften Strand lassen die Seele baumeln. Erholung pur!

Komfortabel, toller Garten und Strand, 2-3* Hotel
Es liegt sehr gut, mit einem wunderbaren Garten und einem sehr grossen Strand, zu dem man übers Zug-Gleis gelangt, mit überwachung dass kein Zug kommt. Wirklich sehr schön. Tolle Liegen unter Bäumen und Palmen.

Quiet stay by the beach and train
1. Location is few metres from a clean, quiet beach. Just have to cross a railway line. 2. Big room with usual amenities but WiFi is unreliable and TV has no incoming signal 3. View from the restaurant of the sea is fabulous. Staff is polite and friendly. Even have their version of the mariachi who'll sing for you. 4. Choice of art in the hotel is erotic. Bothered me.

If your looking for a quiet beach this is the one. Miles & miles of uncrowded beautiful beach. Hotel is comfortable, food is good, staff very friendly. Pool is nice although a little cloudy. On the downside wifi is very slow & sometimes intermittent & tea & coffee making in room does not get replenished , we got 2 tea bags & 2 creamers on arrival & that was it, would have expected daily supplies for the price of the room. Also bath towels were very old & stained. The train line runs through the property but on the whole we didn't find this a problem & they don't run at night. On the whole though we enjoyed our stay here & would stay again

Schönes Hotel mit leerem Strand
Wir waren Ende November für einige Nächte dort und hatten einen der Luxus-Rooms mit Blick auf den Pool (wodurch man gerade so WLAN hatte). Das Zimmer war angenehm groß mit einem großen Bad und Balkon. Besonders gefallen hat uns der quasi leere Strand vor dem Hotel. Um hinzukommen müssen die Bahngleise überquert werden, aber das ist nur beim ersten Mal aufregend - ein Hotelmitarbeiter passt ständig auf. Besonders negativ sind uns die Preise im Restaurant aufgefallen, diese sind aber in fast ganz Sri Lanka für Touristen übertrieben hoch. die Preise sind höher, als in Deutschland!

Hotel in Strand aber auch Bahngleisnähe
Hotel durchschnittlich. Essen durchschnittlich. Zimmer gut. Der dortige Tourist Guide hat uns den Aufenthalt aber versaut. Er lauert hinter jeder Ecke und möchte einem überteuerte Touren anbieten und lässt ein Nein kein Nein seien. Unfassbar nervig wenn man sich eigentlich nur erholen will.

Plus: Bra lite slitet hotel med trevlig personal. Rent o fräscht. Bra mat. Egen verksamhet för sköldpaddor Minus: Järnvägen går precis intill hotellet och man hör tågen tidiga mornar, så kanske inget för någon som är lättväckt. Dålig Wifi täckning i rummen (de skulle fixa detta)
