This is a property in transition, moving from Scottish Inn to Castillo Inn. The rooms are clearly being updated, the property is receiving attention, and the work seems ongoing. Also, this is a motel, not a high end boutique hotel. It's pricing is aligned with that. So set your expectations appropriately.
That said, we stayed for four days. The location is awesome - across the street from the original Church site, and just a few minutes walk to the mail attraction. Literally under five minutes to the Jail and 'Fountain of Youth'. A couple more minutes to Ripleys, and only 10 minutes to the Fort and Old Town.
We didn't drive the whole time we were there except for the last day when we drove to the Cathedral - that literally took longer to drive and park than it would have taken to walk.
Our room was large and refurnished with ceramic tile floors and what looks like marble bathrooms. The bed was comfortable and the bedding excellent - and the room was quiet. Internet was fast enough for my wife to get in a day's work. There were some things they can do to make it better - new fixtures perhaps, but all in all, a good value and great location. We'll stay there again.
