Just to start off, this was our first trip to St. Croix. We read lots of reviews about the hotels on the island. We set out with goals in mind and tried to pick a property that met or was easily attainable with nearby attractions.
Our goals: Beach Front Rooms, Golfing, Spa, nearby food, in room kitchen, entertainment.
Rental car was easy right at the airport. Let me say, spend the money and rent a car. You will be happy you did. There’s a lot to do and taxis are hard to get.
On our drive to the resort we passed a grocery store (Plaza Extra East) and I would recommend using it. Anything you need is in store and they give you vouchers for gas.
check in was really easy. Staff was friendly. Not wanting to cook after a long day we headed down to the bar/pool (Deep end) area to check menus and grab a cocktail. Upon arriving the place was packed, but not uncomfortably. Plenty of staff, and friendly. Food was delicious, I think we ate there 6 meals total. Prices were reasonable and every night they have entertainment. Of the nights we went down there we saw: fire dancers, learned to salsa dance, played disco bingo with cash prizes, had a limbo competition, and some good bands and dj’s.
The buildings look dated but everything on the island looks the same. Room was spacious and clean. Has kitchenette and safe in room.
I highly recommend Tammarind if you enjoy relaxation and modest fun. Not a party resort. It was everything we wanted. Just booked again!
