Clean and comfortable family friendly hotel
The beds were comfortable and the room was relatively clean (though I'd recommend wearing shoes or slippers in the room because the wood floors could have been cleaner). There wasn't too much noise from other rooms, even on weekends when the hotel was relatively full. The staff was kind and helpful. The common area at the back of the office has coffee, tea, a microwave, a toaster and sink as well as tables for eating at and a selection of board games. Being the end of the season it was too cold to use the pool, but it seemed well maintained and pool towels are available in the office.

Exceeded expectations!
We were originally booked at Capt Inn & Suites and since they were closing prior to our booked reservation, we were moved to Thomson’s Resort. Thomson’s exceeded my expectations. It was really decorated nicely decorated and felt homey. The view off the balcony of Boldt Castle was spectacular as well! My only two critiques was that our room was located up 26 stairs and we weren’t told that ahead of time. I have a bad back so the stairs weren’t helpful and we tried to avoid going in and out of the room our whole stay to avoid the stairs. We did not book the room so we had no clue what we were getting and didn’t find out until we walked to it and found out it was 3 flights up with luggage and all. There was no way to change it since we were the last ones to arrive that day. The only other item I would change is the orientation of the toilet. It’s kiddie corner in the bathroom and would have been easier to use had it been oriented straight ahead, perpendicular to the shower. The counter sticks out a bit so I needed to bring light in with me when up to use the bathroom at night so as not to walk into the counter. But overall, the property is nice and and well cared for and clean, and of course you can’t beat the views.

Best Place!
It was the best accommodation. Everything is perfect. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. Both the desk staff were really nice. I really want to come back next time.

We had a 2 bedroom unit with a kitchenette. The amount of space for the price was great. The staff was great and available. Kitchen had enough dishes and was convenient. Large fridge. The pans in the kitchen were dirty, the stove burners were dirty. I washed them before using. The AC unit was in a foyer area, it took a long time to get the bedroom cooled off. It was a good value for the price. Beds and bedding were good.

sweet, cozy and friendly
The overall experience was wonderful There were minor gaps in the door at the bottom and top which let in a bit of daylight. The bed was super cozy, everything in its place, enough of everything and its proximity to attractions is perfect. Too bad it was too cold for the pool!

Kim the attendent at check in was very helpful, polite and kind. She is very knowledgeable about the area and happy to help. Rooms were very clean and quiet. Very cozy for family stays.

We stayed for 3 nights,room was ok.we didnt need any room service for a short stay.We went to see the castle on Saturday and bought some souvenirs,when we got home we coulnt find a bag of souvenirs after looking for 2 days i called the Inn and ask if they were found,Of course they were not found .The front desk said they would look again and call me the next day.I called them and of course not turned it.So recheck everything before you leave because you wont see them again.Not very trustful nirs ,after looking

I want to thank you for choosing to stay with us Debra. However, I must take issue with your assessment of the trustworthiness of our staff. Guests routinely leave items at our hotel, and when this occurs we *always* contact the guest in the room where the item was found to make arrangements for the return of the item(s). This has occurred several times this summer alone. I understand your frustration at the loss of the items you had purchased, but to accuse our staff of theft, without evidence, is unacceptable. I hope that in the future you are able to take responsibility for your personal items so that you do not have a further need to make baseless accusations such as these.

Wonderful Morning Coffee view
I'm very pleased with my stay. Comfy cozy and relaxing. No it's not the RITZ it's small town comfort. We stayed 2 nights and the staff was amazing and the room was cleaned daily plenty of towels and everything was perfect for us.

This is a grand place to stay. We were last here 12 years ago when the new owners were just beginning renovations. They've done a wonderful job. Our room was bright, fresh and clean. The young woman at the front desk was very nice. She told me that more fix-ups are planned for the off-season. I highly recommend Capt.'s Inn.

Disappointed.
Room seemed to be updated but extremely sloppy update. Floor looked ok until you walked on it and it turned my socks black. Needs a scrubbing. Water pressure is terrible. Room smelled damp. Bugs need to be taken out of lights. Needs better maintenance. The bed was very comfortable. Manager was not on duty but did call to discuss after we let the employee on duty know of the issues.

Very quiet and near Alex Bay. The North Star Restaurant is in walking distance ( seems like on the property). The food and service was great!

Hotel was easily accessible from main road. Room had a single cup Keurig coffee maker which was not listed in amenities. Short drive or walk to the bay area (all metered parking). Restaurant next door was great for breakfast.

For being a newly renovated motel felt unsafe that the sliding screen door and slidibg glass door dud not lick we were on yhe maun floor did not feel safe . The cleaning people did not clean the room well leaving hair in the sink dud nit replace our towels after showering Staff really did nit want to hear our concerns. We would at least like a portion of our money back that we paid for the room. Unfortunately we will not recommend this motel to anyone the biggest thing was not feeling safe with both doors not able to lock and we want to be compensated. We came ti enjoy time away not ti ve stressed

Hi Christine, it is deeply concerning to hear you were disappointed with your recent stay with us. We understand the importance of safety while traveling. Our deck rooms have dual safety locks on the sliding glass deck doors for an extra measure of security. In addition to the patio door handle lock there is also a solid bar that is kept on the inside track of your sliding glass door. Persons are not able to access the deck from inside or outside without firstly removing that solid bar. If there is a broken patio door latch that was not brought to our attention before now, it will be fixed immediately! Please know that staying with us without feeling safe or secure is not ever acceptable. At any time during your future stay with us, contact the front desk or ask for a manager to voice your fears and concerns. Our team will never dismiss help needed from a guest. The front desk staff did log activity from your stay with us involving a fuzzy TV and requesting garbage removal. The front desk staff on duty instantly resolved those issues for you and did not know you had other concerns. I am truly sorry our cleaning staff missed the mark for your visit. Please know we will address your housekeeping fails and continue to try harder. Thank you for taking the time to let us know ways we can improve. I hope you consider staying with us again during your next trip to the Thousand Islands. Be healthy and well.
