Nice and comfortable
Pretty nice room and bathroom, confortable bed with 2 pillows each , had elevator to 4th floor, friendly staff and good breakfast for only few dollars more per person when booked thru hotels.com, easy access to all sites

A very comfortable and nice hotel
I have stayed at this hotel more than once and it is not my last time. It is a very comfortable hotel. I was travelling alone and I felt very safe. It is nice that most of the staff in the reception speaks very well english. And they are very helpful. f I had any wishes - another pillow, another room, in need of water.....they were always ready to help. It is also of great comfort that there are people in the reception 24 hour. The rooms are very comfortable and nice with a small fridge in the room. The breakfast is ok.very standard for russian I believe. If you exspect a standard as in denmark you will get disappointed. But for me it was a minor thing. There are tv in the room. But only russian unfortunately. The wifi works very well and I could watch series on tablet and make phone calls abroad with no problems. The hotel is placed in a nice area with everything you need closeby and you can walk to the isac cathedral and other important historical things within approximately 25 minutes. The best of recommandation!!

Hyvä paikka, rauhallinen sijainti vaikka lähellä keskustaa. Aamupalalla tarjontaa vähän jos tulee myöhään, mutta syödäkseen sai. Hotellissa yksi hissi, ja kerroksia useampi joten portaat tulee tutuiksi.

I loved everything about the hotel, except for the stairs! I have knee problems and couldn’t climb the stairs with my suitcases! The breakfast and bar was down stairs and I couldn’t climb the stairs properly! But otherwise the food was great and the drink from the bar was the best I have ever drunk! It was perfectly made! The room was clean, big and airy! I loved everything about the place except for those stairs and of course the lift. The lift was too small! But otherwise I enjoyed my stay there

It was a standard hotel. They spoke English. The bed was springy and felt old. I had mosquitos in my room the first night and was getting bit. I asked to change rooms, they refused and gave me a plug-in. It didn’t help. I was only able to sleep after I killed almost all of them. My room had an old smell to it and the shower is a tub. hotel was a 20-25 minute walk to the sites. Saint Petersburg is very walkable with a lot of things to see, so the walk wasn’t bad. Wouldn’t stay again though.

Wonderful experience !!!
I was delighted by the superior service being received from the staff esp. at the reception. I had no barrier in communicating since they all were well conversant in English. Food was great , not enough spicy though (Russian Food is not spicy by nature, I guess). Room was nicely arranged with all the necessary amenities, very clean and it was very comfortable ! We had a nice view of the Canal and also the City. We didn't have to use taxi since Spasskaya and Sadovaya Metro stations were located very close by (02 to 03 min walk) which connect to all the main tourist attractions. Overall, our stay at Hotel Gogol House was wonderful and we would definitely pick the same hotel if we are to travel St. Petersburg, again !

Well located hotel in SPB
Hotel had freshly renovated rooms that were clean and tidy and AC worked well except during the first day. Hotel did good work by fixing AC immediately after our complaint. WIFI was good and Hotel was nicely located near three metro stations that connected well to other parts of the town. Also it was possible to walk to some of the main attractions in SPB. Breakfast was average.
