Good place for an overnight stay
Check-in was speedy. The room was comfortable and the shower worked well. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was fab. Really enjoyed our two night stay. Easy walking distance to the town.

Ok but better options
Ok stay hotel very tired rooms need some love and attention - breakfast good Distance to town good - few minutes stroll into town which was handy. Parking onsite which you pay for at check in but unfortunately was full when we returned at night so not very convenient. Would not stay again despite the staff being very friendly the facilities are lacking.

Nice pre Christmas weekend aeay
Overall a nice homely hotel. Rooms a bit dated but certainly clean and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and hospitable. I was expecting better at breakfast though

Great hotel !!
Perfect for our Saturday night out in Lichfield. Able to check in early , a warm , clean and quiet room , great nights sleep . Only a few minutes walk to Cathedral and town centre. Perfect !!

Well run, clean, great bar and breakfast
Great hotel on the edge of Lichfield City, either walk 10 minutes down the main hill to get to the centre, or through the little known ally through the park. Well run, clean, great bar and breakfast. Also a surprisingly good event venue. Tops!

Ideal for visiting cathedral
Room slightly damp smelling but perfectly clean. Bed very comfortable, though room was hot - there was a fan available but we anticipated noise from it so didn't try it - less sensitive ears might find this eases the temperature. Staff were very personable and exceedingly helpful. Hotel well placed for city centre (ten to fifteen minutes' walk) without being in the noise of the city, like its sister hotel, and ideal for visiting the glorious cathedral.

Generally poor condition. Initial impressions weren't good. On arrival we were told we hsd to pay for parking as we'd booked through Expedia. Dirty staircarpet and grubby bathroom.

Lichfield visit
Gents downstairs loo needed desperate attention during our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room had good beds and linen and towels. All could be changed if required. The lightbulb was out and couldn’t be replaced till Monday but still not. Bedside or rather straight down facing lights were either on or off for both people! A fan was provided. Bathroom basin light out but powerful shower in the smallest bathroom as no space for two persons towels. Breakfast some days was cooked to order sometime in heated trays. Big bowl of fresh chopped fruit until our last breakfast then just leftovers. A big jug of iced water always on bar for guests and appreciated. A 15 minute walk down hill to Cathedral and town with choice of many restaurants and interesting historic buildings.

I needed accommodation for two nights while visiting relatives in the area. Although the exterior, the dining room and the bar are attractive, the staircase and corridors are a little basic. My room was spacious and clean, with black-out lined curtains, a large comfortable bed and a decent bathroom (although the basin plug was broken). Breakfast was cooked to order and of good quality. There are no lifts, but there are only three floors. There's no air conditioning. Weather was hot, so the window was open. Beacon Street is busy, so traffic noise is an issue. Worse, the outdoor smoking area was directly below my window and I was awoken before 6am each day by guests (or staff?) chatting while smoking. No toiletries were provided apart from a bar of soap and a shower cap. There was a dirty towel left hanging on the back of the bathroom door. I discovered when I returned late the second evening (by reading a card I had not noticed when I arrived) that rooms are not serviced during one's stay unless requested at reception. In most hotels room service is automatic. Finally, although there is a car park, I doubt whether there would be enough space if the hotel were full. And, according to the card, there's a charge of £5 per night unless you book direct with the hotel. I booked through Expedia but was not in fact charged extra. I doubt I would stay here again.

All very nice. Breakfast finished too early for me at 9:30. Toast was thin and cheap horrible tomato sauce.
