This property is a 1 minute walk to watch the horses train each morning. Its is a 5 minute walk to high street. We stayed here 20 years ago as well, so good to be back. If you want to visit Newmarket, this is a wonderful place to stay!

Great location - right off of High Street. Staff are super nice and there is a full-time reception desk, unlike some other hotels in the area.

A good seventies style stay
AThis hotel is a real throw back to the seventies. Comfortable but functional rather luxurious. The lounge/bar decor and exterior is straight out of the seventies. Air conditioning, that worked! Was a plus. Service was great and probably the best breakfast Ive had in a long time

Just a one night stay but ok. Disappointed with breakfast. By 8.30 there were no pastries left, only 2 slices of bread for toasting and no butters. Had to ask for more. Bar prices very expensive, Two glasses of wine £17. Not somewhere to spend an evening at those prices.

Buena opción para "noche rápida de negocios"
Era justo lo que necesitábamos. Estuvimos una noche "rápida" (llegamos a final de la tarde y salimos pronto a la mañana siguiente). Pero el hotel cumplió con lo que necesitábamos. El personal muy amable, nos recomendó un buen restaurante italiano bastante cerca (5 min. andando) que sin duda valió la pena.

The property itself was ok..but certainly not worth the £160 for one night stay..room was small and bed was very uncomfortable

A little gem
Dont usually stay here but it was a late booking. Well gobsmacked!!!! Huge bedroom sofa big window fridge and safe. The staff were lovely 😍 breakfast was amazing and only a few yards from the gallops. Liked it so much booked for another weekend break.xx

Cheerful, helpful staff.
Easy to find, convenient for the local town. Very clean, good facilities. Had the opportunity to eat at the hotel the food was very good with the bar staffed with cheerful, efficient staff. Breakfast was good. Relaxing stay I would happily stay here again

Friendly staff. Property is time worn but still clean and functional. Restaurant is very nice; good menu selection and service. Located just off center of town; walkable to many local pubs. Rooms are small and utilitarian.

Lovely short stay
Really enjoyed our one night stay. The lady on reception was nice and helpful. We only had a standard room, but it was adequate for our needs. Bed and pillows comfortable; ample tea, coffee and biscuits; bathroom was a good size with a bath and shower, plenty of shampoo and body wash etc. Breakfast the next day was very good, fruit juices, cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cheese and meats, toast and then a choice of what you wanted cooked, which was done fresh and not as a buffet. Staff at breakfast were also very nice. On site parking and a 5 minute walk in to town where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. Very nice and will definitely return. Thank you.

Great location. Nice and helpful staff. Very good restaurant and room service available. The rooms are a bit utilitarian, but they actually have everything that you need and are very comfortable. The location right off of High Street is excellent and helps make this hotel very good value for the money.

Hotel rooms have had a refresh since my last stay. Air Con is superb… very quiet. Blinds in bathroom are an odd choice. Not easy to adjust.

The bathroom had no heating so no way to warm your towels. It looked as though a radiator had been taken off the wall One light and a three pin plug socket kept tripping which was very annoying. Felt a little let down as have used the hotel before and was happier with it then

I enjoyed the stay. The hotel is really well positioned being only a 5-7 minute walk from town. The staff were friendly and really go up and above to resolve issues. I was a little cold and asked for a blanket and it was brought straight away. The room was spacious, inviting and was very clean. It's an older hotel so although the room was comfortable with WI-Fi and a good sized TV which wasn't too imposing, the room was a little weathered in parts, but it didn't detract from the stay. I didn't realise that the radiators are being replaced and instead there's air conditioning which makes the room warm, but doesn't reach the bathroom. But the shower was great and really hot. All in all I would recommend it and stay there again.

Hotel was lovely, staff really friendly and helpful, room was really spacious only thing that ket this hotel down was tge bath panel was all broken and badly repaired so it looked grubby. We had breakfast, there were alit to choose from and the freshly cooked fryup was great.
