Cosy hotel near Coogee beach
I stayed at the royal hotel for 1 week and really enjoyed it. It's about 12 min walking distance from Coogee beach and is near many cafes and restaurants. It is also near bus lines that take you to the city. I'd recommend this place to sb who wants to spend a relaxed time by the beach. For sb looking for a more urban experience, the hotel is about 15-20 mins away from the city center so it may also work if they don't mind the bus and uber fares. Service-wise the staff were super kind and helpful.

Noisy Room, Unresponsive Staff
I had difficulty sleeping at night because the hotel is located right on a big street where several bus routes are run. In addition, the staff was very unresponsive. Due to family emergency I had to check out early. To request partial refund of my payment I sent an email twice and even left a message at the hotel website. However, I have not heard from them at all. I am angry not because I did not get refund, but because they did not reply. FYI, be sure to understand Hotels.com refund policy. Once you made payment, it is impossible to get refund even though you have a valid reason as in my case. I would not use Hotel.com again.

A tad loud but otherwise an excellent time. Walkable to Coogee with a bit of spring in your step. One of my best stays in Sydney.

Rain dripping on to roof below very annoying. Rain itself ok but the dripping from higher roof to lower roof outside our window very loud. Room very hot and window only opened about 3inches. No airconditioning unit. No wifi password given on arrival. No information about property given. Staff not visible or accessible and not friendly except for security guard. Staff reluctantly offered to carry suitcase upstairs for a 69yr old woman. Security guard carried them for us. Very small room for two people with only one chair. Good location though.

Property is very well located for public transport, tram services; facilities are good too but it was too noisy till at 10:30pm so you had to bear with noise until then.

Everything very good except room on ground floor #311 was next to small courtyard and quite noisy with people talking loudly

Nice room. Loved it!
Modern room. Priced right. Close to key light rai station which will take you to most places. Would definitely stay here again.

The drainage in the shower was very inadequate, pooling up and then overflowing right across the bathroom floor. Very dangerous for an accessible room for a person with mobility issues like myself! More information about upon arrival about the closure of door out to my courtyard accessed room would’ve been helpful. Other than these two things it was a lovely room and place to stay thanks.

Awesome stay for a concert at the Hordern. Had dinner at the pub, delicious steak. We had a few cocktails and the bar staff were mega friendly and helpful. Great vibe for a drink and dinner. Team stop is across the road so straight to the venue and we got a park on site. Will for sure stay again. Walked the Coogee coast in the morning as it’s a 5 min drive from the hotel. This place is a gem

The room was a long walk from very steep stairs, with no elevator, and the room was fairly small. The tomahawk steak and seafood chowder were excellent. Paul was very helpful with our luggage to put in the back room while we went to a medical appointment.

部屋はきれいで居心地もいいです。UNSWまでは歩けます。おいしいカフェも多いです。まわりは静かで、駅に近くて便利です。ただ、お店が少なく10時頃閉まるので買い物はしてから帰った方がいいです。またエレベーターがないので、荷物が大きい人には大変かもしれません。また、一般的なホテルではなくフロントがないので、荷物を預けて外出したい人、レイト／アーリーチェックインしたい人には適しません。

All the hospitals are a 5 min walk away. Light rail very easy to use, to get to Circular key. Room was clean, bedding lovely. Shower was amazing. Food was lovely in restaurant and $10 cocktails totally worth it during happy hour. We stayed 7 nights. Only one noisey neighbour all week. Will definitely use again.

Ideal location with plenty of transport options. Enjoyed the lively and busy pub downstairs; room was very clean, modern and quiet. pleasantly surprised by the standard of amenities. will book again if I am staying in Sydney especially if going to races and also very close to Coogee beach as well! Best of both worlds

Great location, comfortable beds and quiet. Has been place of choice for overnight stays over the years. This time, however, the shower recess had significant mould - it needs a deeper clean because it’s starting to feel grimy and detracts from the rest of the room.

Comfortable clean and well situated for attending the hospital. Plenty of hot water in the shower! Bistro downstairs made for convenient meals. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Lovely renovated building that keeps the charm of its origins but with modern clean facilities.
