It was indeed a very busy weekend in Sydney with Taylor Swift, SailGP, Mardi Gras etc so the prices reflected the demand of the area. In regards to the 1.00 hold, this is incase you use the QR code in the room to charge anything back to the hotel, if you purchase breakfast, use the parking facilities or place any charges on the room. The 1 ensures we have a working card on file. This is consistent across all hotels and does so to ensure purchases can be paid for should you leave without coming to the front desk.
