Thé crème de la crème
Our stay was amazing. The hotel is conveniently located close to Syracuse and close from the beach and excellent restaurants. The rooms are comfortable the surrounding is beautiful. The food is exquisite and above all the staff are very friendly. I would highly recommend this place.

I would advise this resort. Very nice place with a nice swimming pool. The unique part of the place is the quiteness. Staff young and polite. Very nice welcome from the receptionist, super polite with a nice vibe.

The hotel itself is nice, relaxing resort feel. It is next to a lounge/restaurant and they had a party until late night and the hotel walls were paper thin so we heard the loud party throughout the night. Driving instructions are provided to get to the property but it is far from anything else especially food options. But otherwise the hotel is nice.

We found the hotel lovely. Very relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast and restaurant were excellent. However, we found the staff unfriendly - in fact, one staff member communicated false information about us to another staff member which a third staff member overheard and conveyed back to us. It was very strange...but somewhat amusing.

Kalaonda is far from the 4 * it claims to be. It's clean and comfortable but with a pool by the car park, rooms stripped down to the bare minimum and at best offering views on alley-ways, it lacks the charm I was hoping for. And forget about its Relais du Silence label: lawn-mowing and swarms of kids around the pool offer little piece and quiet.

Nice country-side hotel
Stayed for 3 nights. Nice, if slightly remote setting yet in short distance to Syracuse (15 min drive). Rooms have more of a cottage feel and are furnished fairly simply. Our room had a bit of a damp smell to it. Outside area is great with a nice pool. Had dinner at the restaurant twice - good, basic Italian food, thought the fish dishes were especially nice.

Beautiful little gem of a hotel tucked away.
I stayed at the hotel with my family just for one night during a Holiday in Sicily. I was very pleased with my choice, the family room was spacious and comfortable. The pool was beautiful and for the time that we were there had it practically to ourselves. A very relaxing setting, and I felt that we were made to feel welcome with the children free to play in the grounds. We did not eat at the restaurant due to the fact that we were there just for the night and wanted to eat out in Syracusa, but if we ever stayed again we would eat there. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Really bad experience
We looked forward to our stay at Kalaonda Plemmirio - the pictures and the description on the website looked very promising - but our stay was very disappointing. We are a family of four, and we had booked two rooms. The first room, on the ground floor, was musty, and the walls were humid (despite hot temperatures outside, in June). The second room did not have that problem, however, in both rooms, the air condition was not working, the phone was not working, and there was no wifi connection. Service was poor - reception staff was not helpful at all. We were having breakfast and dinner there, choices were very limited and quality mediocre. For the dinner, it took 45 minutes to even get some water for the table. Location is difficult as well - the hotel sits in the middle of farmland, with plastic greenhouses all around, and dogs (many!) from nearby farmhouses barking during the whole night. Given all the positive (older) reviews, this place must have changed considerably during recent years.

Lovely hotel with a beautiful pool , ideally situated for Siracusa and the beeches and sights of South East Sicily . The staff are extremely friendly and helpful , especially Matilda , who was able to tell us where to go and exactly how to get there .

Rural Luxury a few minutes from Syracuse
The Kalaonda Plemmirio is a beautiful hotel set in a converted olive farm only a few minutes drive from Syracuse. Each room (actually a small suite with separate living and sleeping areas) is accessed from a courtyard that was kept spotless and swept every morning by the staff. The food both at breakfast and from the restaurant was excellent and the evening waiter is very knowledgeable about the local wines. The evening menu choice may seem a little restricted and slightly more expensive than elsewhere and, for a longer stay, you might want to try some of the sea front restaurants along the southern shore of Syracuse’s grand harbour, which are about five minutes drive from the hotel. As several other guests have commented, a car really is necessary to make the most of your stay here, but we found the hotel to be a superb choice for exploring Syracuse and the surrounding sites.

We spent two days early October 2010 in this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it . Because of the rural position use of a car is absolutely essential. They serve a lovely breakfast in the morning, however we only used the restaurant once as it was a bit over-priced. We found a really nice , well-priced pizzeria/ristorante closeby for dinner which was great. On the plus side everything else about the Kalaonda is excellent ; the staff are extremely friendly , polite and keen to help, despite the language barrier. We would definitely go back to this lovely place again.

Välskött, mysigt och lugnt ställe.
Fin uppvuxen och välskött trädgård, rymliga fräscha rum, sköna och ok sängar. Vänlig och hjälpsam personal. Framförallt en bra frukost. Det negativa var att det kändes lite fuktigt på rummet, kom en unje6n lukt från avloppet någon gång och inget pingisbord. Men ingen big deal av det. Hotellet har en bra känsla, bil krävs, stor gratis parkering nära rummen finns. Vi var där med två barn 10 och 13 som trivdes jättebra.

La struttura è molto carina, una antica proprietà rurale ristrutturata che conserva l’anima del tempo passato. Io sono stato sfortunato perché perché ho avuto una camera con 2 piccole microfinestre, buia e attrezzata per disabili, dunque con un gabinetto abbastanza scomodo. La piscina è molto bella e il giardino piacevole e ben curato. Il lato negativo è la sostanziale assenza del ristorante che di fatto ti obbliga ad uscire prendendo la macchina e questo in luogo di relax è una pecca. Il personale è molto disponibile

NO OS DEJÉIS ENGAÑAR POR FOTOS!! Nada recomendable
Nos sentimos muy extraños, no hay simpatía en el personal, no hablan Español, ubicación en medio de invernaderos sin una triste vista. El precio desorbitado y nada de servicios anunciados, falta personal, comedor pésimo y carísimo, desayuno repetitivo y malísimo, cafetera siempre rota y bollería mala. Los fines de semana organizan fiestas ajenas a clientes, música alta, sin previo aviso y perjudicial para el sueño. La zona deshabitada, sin servicios ni transporte, entorno muy sucio y poco recomendable. La habitación ni un tendedero, solo ducha y minúsculo lavabo, con todo espacio de habitación! No merecen ni el más mínimo respeto, así nos hemos sentido. Único plus la piscina, sin socorrista ni servicio de bar. UN ABURRIMIENTO DE LUGAR EN TIERRA DE NADIE. Sin coche fatal.

Enligt Expedia skulle hotellet vara 4 stjärnigt med stor frukostbuffé men en stor besvikelse!! Vissa dagar fanns det varken ost eller kokt ägg!! Och i grönsaksväg fanns det endast cherri tomater. Vissa dagar var även brödet gammalt!! Det stod resturang men den var bara tillgänglig vissa tider ( väldigt litet urval) och däremellan kunnde man inte beställa varken snack eller kaffe. Rummet städades bra ibland och vissa dagar väldigt dåligt. Poolhandukar fanns inte alltid att tillgå och när det fanns var dom oftast smutsiga. Personalen var mycket trevlig och gjorde sitt bästa för att vara service inriktade trots de hade begränsade resurser och möjligheter pga ägarens snålhet.
