Ett bra och personligt boende med hög kvalitet
Ett mycket trevligt och personligt hotell på lagom avstånd till det mesta. Härligt poolområde, rummet är ett eget hus med individuell inredning och personalen är mycket servicevänlig, trevlig och engagerad. Rätt miljö för en avkopplande semester vid det fantastiska strandområdet kring Santa Teresa.

Bungalow with a super cool pool
Wonderful small hotel just 3 minutes outside of the town of Santa Teresa. My husband, my 10 year old son and I really appreciated being able to return to this quiet, lush, comfortable spot after a full day in town / at the beach / exploring the area. It is super convenient and has the best pool with great ambient music and cabanas with long curtains. Its not a resort-sized pool; more like the best backyard pool that you could imagine, surrounded by tropical beauty. Individual bungalows provide great privacy. Mattresses are firm with good pillows. Breakfasts are very good too. If the room had a small dresser to help us stay organized, it would be perfect. Other spots have direct beach access or ocean views. If that is not critical feature, this place is a dream.

Lovely setting close to town and the beach
Spent 5 days at this lovely quiet hotel. Staff was fantastic and very helpful.Very relaxing setting. Pool was a perfect size. Felt very safe. The breakfasts were amazing and delicious. No view of the ocean but no incline from the road. They can arrange fantastic excursions. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We stayed about a week. Nice pool, good breakfast, helpful management and staff. would go again.

Super Unterkunft
Die Unterkunft befindet sich in Strandnähe und wird tip top in Schuss gehalten. Überaus freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Üppiges, gutes Frühstück. Es gab nichts zu meckern.

Superbe endroit!
Nous avons adoré l'hôtel mais pas la plage de Santa Teresa, beaucoup trop de gens et plutôt sale. Favoriser la Playa Hermosa à 15 min en voiture. Par contre les restaurants de Santa Teresa étaient excellents.

Wunderschönes Hotel
Ein wunderschönes Hotel. Wir hatten nur eine Nacht gebucht, blieben dann aber 3. Sehr sauber und schönes Bungalow. Das Personal super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Restaurants liegen gut zu Fuss in der Nähe.

Amazing place and amazing people
We had a great time at The Place. Everyone there went out of the way to make our stay comfortable and helped with all our day trips and offered recommendations. The pool and courtyard were great after a day in the sun. We'd definitely go back.

We Found Our Bliss!
What a fantastic gem! Perfect location, beautiful rooms, absolutely WONDERFUL staff...it honestly could not be more perfect. My husband and I have been coming to the Nicoya Peninsula for years, and this is the first place we've stayed that brings together each detail we love about Costa Rica and this area. Bliss!

Little Paradise
What can I say apart that this is a great and lovely hotel. We had a perfect stay. The bungalows are absolutely charming; as is the hotel. The swimming pool and the garden are a little paradise and everything is clean and well maintained. You can even enjoy local product for shower. In addition the staff as well as the owner are very kind and always helpful. There is a large choice of breakfast. I highly recommend you to stay here; the place is quite and really peacefull and totally worth the moderate price; and to enjoy a cocktail by the pool. Thanks again to the staff for such nice welcome !

Diferentes bungalows muy originales.
El hotel está estructurado en varios bungalows, muy originales. También tiene un ambiente muy relajante y el personal es muy solícito y simpático. Cuando estuvimos alojados allí estaban a punto de hacer remodelaciones. Supongo que por eso no había armaritos en el bungalow, que echamos en falta. No tienen TV.

Perfect for what we needed
This was our first trip to Costa Rica, and our plan was to see as much of the area as possible! This hotel was perfect for that. The room was simple and had no TV, which we actually enjoyed not having. I'm petty certain our bed was two twin beds pushed together, because you could feel the seam, but it didn't hinder our sleep, we just laughed about it. The bathroom was clean and simple. The continental breakfast was also simple, but delicious. We ate it most days to save money. Each day we woke up, ate, and then left for the day only coming back to change to go back out for dinner. We did lounge by the pool a few times for an hour or so, just to recharge. The pool was small, but perfect for us to lounge beside. The ocean is a short walk away so the pool wasn't a big draw for us in the first place when booking. The staff were great, they greeted us each time we came and went, asking how our day was going. It was the perfect little oasis during our very busy time in Costa Rica :)

Impolite staff and poor breakfast
We paid for breakfast, and upon arrival it was confirmed that we would be served "continental breakfast". This consisted of one hot drink, dry bread and one glass of juice. Any other orders (eggs, yoghurt, etc.) was charged extra. We said to the staff that this didn't quite meet our expectations to "inluded continental breakfast", but their response was impolite, with rolling of eyes and no understanding. Unpleasant experience.

Gorgeous Hotel with AMAZING staff
We had a great time at this hotel. The staff were ALL so friendly and welcoming. The pool is beautiful and the grounds are very well taken care of. And this hotel is in the best location.

The Place, muy buena elección !
La comida es muy buena, especialmente los desayunos. En trato del personal es super amable. El WiFi funcionó perfecto. La distancia a la playa es corta, caminando son 200 mts. En la habitacion estandar no hay donde secar ropa. Los paños que brinda el hotel no se pueden llevar a la playa, solo a la piscina. En todo el hotel no hay TV. El bar del hotel cierra a las 10pm.

Fantastic people, wonderful location
From the moment we arrived at The Place everybody was so welcoming and helpful and this just kept getting better and better throughout our whole holiday. They answered all our questions and made sure that they helped us relax by getting the instructors and quad bikes etc to come to the hotel to make our lives easier. Mal Pais is an amazing place, full of variety and a true escape. We loved the surfing and the lessons. Renting the quad bikes was an ideal way to explore everything else that the area had to offer after our daily surf sessions ;) Will be coming back for sure!

Beautiful place!
The hotel isn't as pretty as in the pictures but its ok. Standard room had no tv. Internet was ok and breakfast was fruits, coffee and toast although it was a delicious bread. The staff is super nice, always willing to help. I had a great stay, my son liked it. I see my self going back there.

Standardrummet var inte så trevligt. Sängen var obekväm, störande musik från baren och fritt kaffe var en överdrift. Fick bara så det räckte till två små koppar. När jag påtalade bristerna blev jag tråkigt bemött av hon som verkade vara chef. Hon ordnade dock ny madrass så att det gick att sova ok. Övrig personal var trevliga och hjälpsamma så vi fick ta kaffe från frukostbordet. De valde efter mitt klagomål något lugnare musik, vilket var bra. Det var lite märkligt att hotellet hade två kategorier av gäster, vilket gjorde att man kände sig som en andra klassens gäst. Det var bra att det fanns ett gemensamt kök, men samtidigt konstigt att blanda. Poolen var skön och fräsch och hotellområdet var fint och välskött. Duschen på rummet var riktigt dålig. Strålarna stack som nålar i skinnet och sköljde inte ordentligt. Trots fördraget duschdraperi så läckte massor av vatten ut på golvet. Jag kommer inte vilja bo där igen. Om jag bor på hotell uppskattar jag ett mer personligt bemötande. Stämningen på The Place var loj och oengagerad.

Just book!
Bra läge för att vara i Costa Rica, trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Ett lugnt ställe som rekommenderas för de flesta, knappt 5 min till stranden och 3 min till bank,restauranger mm. Bra wifi och poolområde. synd att de inte serverade mer än frukost i restaurangen. Baren var kanon!

Für wenig Geld ein sehr gutes Hotel
Schade, dass das Hotel zum Verkauf steht, liegt wohl daran, dass es nur (direkt) neben dem Zentrum liegt und recht wenig Kundschaft zu sehen war.

I booked based on price and expectations from their website, I was not impressed with my stay. The room looked way better in their website. The staff was regular.

Not a Place to be
We had reservation for 12 days . One member of my family got ill before we even had slept the first night. What happened is just horrible: The place threw the whole family out and after that they have refused to transfer my money back! We did not do anything wrong and what we did was just packing in and out . The Place is a place you DONT WANT YO STAY. We disvovered ants creeping everywhere even in the beds and at the walls. I suggest Franks Place instead, that is a much better place cvoncerning both service and location. Svanhild Widen, Norway

Pleasent stay, very helpful staff
Extremely helpful and pleasent hotel staff! One of my party lost their iphone and they went above and beyond to help retrieve it. Rooms are perfectly comfortable but not luxurious, but hopefully you won't be spending much time in your room anyway. Very close to the center of Santa Teresa with easy access to Playa del Carmen, surf shops, etc. Would definitely stay here again.

I like this hotel very much, we lived at nice bungalo, in this 5 bungalos and all off them nice, very beautiful garden in the hotel. It small hotel, but very nice!

Vieux mobilier, matelas catastrophique, petit dejeuner ridiculement petit, trea bruillant a cose d'une discotheque a cote... Et la clim fait un bruit en plus!!! Plus jamais, le pire de nos hotels au costa rica! Jaco n a pas d hotels moyena corrects. Mieux vaut pousser a Playa hermosa. Cadre plus sympat et hotels moins chers.

Chere Elodie On est desole de cette mauvaise experience , on fait de notre mieux pour offrir a nos clients un sejour confortable , on est un peu surpris du fait qu on est situe a mal pais a 200 metres de playa Carmen et pas a Jaco et il y a pas de discoteque a cote de notre hotel , notre petit dejeuner inclus une boisson chaude , fruits ou jus de orange et toast . Si vous revenez vous etes cordialement bienvenu a nous donner une deuxieme chance pour ameliorer votre experience Cordialement

Nice pool!
Great little place in Santa Teresa/Playa Carmen. We went at the end of the off season. Nov. so it was pretty empty hotel. The pool was great. Laid out at night drank wine and looked at the stars with no one around! The standard room was a bit small but really we were only there for one night and it had everything we needed. Bed. Shower. Air.

hotel staff was wonderful. the night girl offered to stay a few minutes after her shift to make us breakfast before our early departure. location is good, walking distance to beach. very nice pool and lounge chairs.

150 dollars for two nights for this hotel without breakfast was too expensive! The room was ok but nothing special and had its best time already. The servis was good! Nice staff!

Gorgeous hotel
Very short walk to town and the beach. Absolutely beautiful grounds. The bed wasn't ideal but still functional.

Equivalent to a Hostel.
I planned to stay in Hotel The Place one night prior to my surf camp at a different hotel. It was so bad, I check out two hours later and rented another room elsewhere for the night. The staff was friendly, but the pool was not clean. My room was next to the front desk and felt like it should have been a utility closet. The room looked nothing like the photos or a typical hotel room, but rather someone's mediocre spare bedroom. The air conditioning in the room was broken and it was over 100 degrees fahrenheit in the room. Needless to say it was sweltering hot. Also, there was no substantial lock on the door, but rather a simple doorknob bedroom lock. As a single female traveler, I did not feel safe staying there at all. It was extremely overpriced for the quality. I was very disappointed.
