Nothing regarding poor air circulation or "darkness" has been brought to our attention with regard to the rooms. Thank you for your feedback. 5 of our 7 rooms contain air-conditioning units. Our 2 rooms that do not have air-conditioning units are our lowest priced room options. ($10 less/per night than the rooms with air conditioning.) These 2 rooms are equipped with 2 fans each (a ceiling fan &, moveable, stand-up fan). Each room has large, screened windows. If you had made us aware of this issue during your stay, we would have been happy to accommodate you & make you as comfortable as possible!!:) Also, you forgot to pay for your breakfast...:) We hope you enjoy the rest of your travels in Costa Rica..

The title of your review says it all. It paints "Costa Rican accommodations" in a negative light. Probably better if you stay in your country in its own "typical accommodations" which are obviously superior to those in lowly Costa Rica. One more thing, it would have been wonderful if you had mentioned any of the issues described in your review during your free ride to the airport in our personal vehicle (or at any other time during your one night stay). These types of reviews are deceiving because the person tells you one thing to your face when they are at the hotel - "everything was great" - but then when they get home they decide to write things which are false to make themselves feel better. Not sure what we could have done better here, but you are welcome to return and stay one night for free to see if things are better. We will even transport you personally to/from the airport for free (again).

Dear guest - This review was unfortunately written "anonymously" so we cannot research which room was occupied or when. We do not have any rooms without ventilation or with a single sheet on bare mattresses, so we can only assume this relates to a different property. We have never had anyone complain about any of the rooms in this (or any) manner in the two years during which we have operated the hotel. It is true that we have one room which does not have AC, but this is detailed in the description and, of course, sold at a discounted rate. That room does have a fan, which is why we are puzzled by the comment re: no ventilation. Next time, if you are uncomfortable, please do not hesitate to reach out to the hotel owners (at any hotel) so that you can be relocated. Drafting an "anonymous" review after the fact does not allow us to help you or any other future guest have a great experience (which is what we strive for:) If you did in fact stay at Mar y Sol, we are sorry you were unhappy and wish we would have been given the opportunity to better your experience.
