I checked in to Comfort at Fairgrounds with my daughter and son. Due to flight delays we arrived at the hotel after 12:00 am. We booked two rooms. The front desk clerk was not gracious and outright rude at check-in. Quite frankly, we were made to feel unwelcome and he was doing us a favor checking us in. At one point during the first room check-in he spoke disrespectfully to me. I responded we were all tired and a little help and guidance would be appreciated. He snapped back he was, and I simply said no you’re not. It took double the time for the clerk to check us in for the second room.
My room had a unclean toilet as well as a dirty and tangled hairdryer. The ac was very loud when it kicked in.
We did not read the fine print of the hotel description which denoted ongoing construction in the hotel. I own that. But nail guns into the flooring above both rooms before 7:00 am was not right. And the night clerk did not mention anything about construction early in the morning as a reminder.
Matthew, an employee on the day shift, was the redeeming employee at Comfort Inn. He listened, provided insight, and quelled the storm. Matthew should be given kudos and praise for the customer service skills he demonstrated.
