I feel compelled to write a review to potentially save others from some trouble and money. The motel itself is in a decent location and appears quaint. The trouble I had was with the owner and the way this property is managed. I booked a room for a few nights several months in advance for my mother, my niece and myself. I then tried canceling a week after booking due to an extreme circumstance and gave the hotel 2 months notice. The hotel refused a refund and told me the reason is because I blocked others from being able to book, even though I only held on to the room for a week. If you book at this resort and need to cancel for any reason, regardless of your situation, regardless of how much notice you give, you will still be charged full price. The owners lack professionalism, empathy and understanding. It was a nightmare communicating with them and I would not recommend this place especially if you are from out of town. I LOVE to support small businesses and entrepreneurs, but unfortunately, this one is not good and you would be better off sticking with a chain hotel. This motel kept my money for a service that I did not recieve. Don't let the same happen to you, beware and think twice!
