The Ormond was ideal for our overnight stay in Tetbury.We enjoyed a drink and socialising with the locals in the bar,which had a good vibe about it.Our ground floor room was smartly furnishedand plenty big enough.The queen size double bed was very comfortable and the en-suite shower/toilet was well decorated, clean and provided plenty of powerful hot water both in the evening and morning.Our full english and vegetarian breakfast choices were well presented and ample in size.We enjoyed our stay and would book again..

A brilliant overnight stay
What a fantastic find. Have a customer in the Tetbury area and we were looking for somewhere to stay in close proximity. The Ormond is brilliant. Fantastic rooms, clean, quirky and well furnished. Service was excellent, breakfast even better. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend

Location great , food very good , nice and warm in the rooms , the only issue is that I’ve been given a different room than the one I booked (smaller and cheaper if booked ) and I didn’t get any explanation apart from that “we are fully booked and we can’t do anything “.

Hi MihaiThanks for taking the time to review us and we are pleased that you were happy. You were in room 14 which is a superior room, it’s just not featured in the photos. All of our rooms are individual and even amongst the superiors they vary in shape and size but I can confirm that you were definitely in the quality and class of room that you paid for and we would never downgrade a customer and certainly not without explanation. Excellent hotel
Lovely hotel centrally located with wonderfully helpful staff. Room was large, contemporary, clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was absolutely wonderful as was the service. We had a really nice stay

Rubbish place to stay in Tetbury.
Poor Bed Mattress very soft and well used. Meal was awful and sent back, didn’t eat that night. Breakfast poor as well. Tired sort of place we usually stay at the Snooty Fox and will do so in the future! Overall, a waste of money!

Room was nice and comfortable. If your not planning on having food then everything is good, however on check in we were told not to worry about booking for food, then when coming down we were told we couldn’t get a table. We ended up having some sandwiches from the co op instead…. The restaurant/bar was very rowdy with alot of young locals hanging out there, although we didn’t end up eating in there it did feel like we outsiders at 18yr old birthday party…

Perfect location for browsing around Tetbury, we had a lovely twin room, small but perfect for short stays, quaint and clean, staff very friendly, we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful hotel
The Ormond is a wonderful hotel, small but cosy! The twin room was lovely and comfortable with a massive bathroom! Outside undercover seating was so pretty with heaters for cold nights! Breakfast and dinner was excellent I have already recommended the hotel to friends!

A relaxed and cosy hotel on the main street of Tetbury. Great dining options, we loved the pizza at the Ormund pub. Really friendly staff. We’ll definitely stay again.

Weekend stay at The Ormond
We had a lovely weekend stay at The Ormond. We were welcomed by a helpful and friendly lady on reception who showed us to our room. Our room and the hotel were very nicely decorated. The evening meal and breakfast was fabulous. The bar and restaurant had a good atmosphere. Would recommend. The only tiny fault was the plug hole in the bath needed a very good clean.

Marvelous from start to finish. Very friendly staff who couldn’t do enough. Felt like friends by the time I left .. one night! Beautiful room with everything one would desire .. apart from hairdryer which I took along so not a problem. Dog very welcome, amazing pizza in the bar area which he also enjoyed! Lovely friendly locals. Can’t understand the price of the stay! Should be more!

Enjoyable, relaxing stay and friendly staff
We had a lovely 2 night stay and really enjoyed it. We had a garden courtyard room which was spacious and relaxing. We ate in the bar both evenings and the food was delicious. What really made the stay excellent was the friendly staff, especially Rhys and Will, who couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. We would certainly recommend the Ormond.

Pub with rooms masquerading as an hotel.
The room was not to expectation. More like a shack in a pub courtyard. No alternative offered. We did not check in. Preferred to take chance of losing deposit rather than stay there. Staff inattentive with take it or leave it attitude.

Dear BrianYou have already reviewed us on Trip Advisor and as I said on that forum, I am at a loss to know what was wrong with room 21, it is a lovely large superior room and one of our most popular, lots of people request these courtyard rooms. We are a coaching inn, that is a pub with rooms, we are very happy with that and there is no masquerading going on. You made your feelings clear and left without giving us a chance to offer you an alternative room, which we would have been more than happy to do and we are very sorry that you were so unhappy.

Dirty, poor staff attitude
Nice village hotel and our check in and room were good on the face of it. Other than the guy who checked us in, staff was generally rude. We had booked for breakfast at 08:00 on the first morning, and having travelled the previous day from Asia ended up waking earlier and found ourselves waiting in the breakfast room around 7:10, hoping to be able to request breakfast at 7:30 when it opened. We were greeted by a man in a hurry, brusquely telling us over his shoulder whilst rushing around doing his business that we were way too early for breakfast and we should come back at 7:30. I replied that we didn’t want breakfast there and then-just a conversation whereupon he stopped and listened. Just rude. Later that day we stopped for a pre-dinner drink in the bar, sat down and ordered and then found that the table was sticky with unwashed spillage from beer glasses the previous night. So we moved. Having done so, we got a pile of “attitude” from the short haired blonde lady managing the bar. Sadly the second table was also filthy, so we had to ask her to clean it. We (2) were sitting at a table to seat four. She came along with a wet towel and cleaned (badly) half of it, leaving the remainder sticky and disgusting. Attitude again. Superior entitled and not caring at all about her clients. Finally room service was awful. Pulled the bed straight, no towel change, didn’t wash the teacups properly. This hotel needs to get its act together to stay in business.

Hi Anthony Thanks for taking the time to review us, it’s good to get feedback and I’m sorry if the friendliness of staff has not been up to standard. Regarding the tables we use a cleaner that does leave a residue which can be mistaken for beer but I can assure you it is cleaning product which we now use post covid. Regarding the towels, we don’t change towels on a two night stay but had you wanted fresh towels we would have been delighted to provide them. Your comments will be passed onto staff and they are helpful, we are glad you liked the room and check in.

Good, but…
Nice hotel in the centre of Tetbury. Good restaurant but optional service charge added automatically and then VAT added to that!

Hi Thanks for taking the time to review us, and we are pleased that you were generally happy. The service charge is optional and we are more than happy to take it off, the vat is worked out on the cost of the food and drink but is never added on, it is always included in the price of everything you pay in any restaurant or food takeaway. What you are seeing on the bill is the vat itemised for business people who are able to claim it back. All food and drink prices on any menu have the vat included and there is no vat on service charge, I hope this clears up any confusion.

The actual room was much smaller than it appeared on Expedia. It was stuffed with a bed, desk, chair and sofa. There was barely any room to walk in the room and no place at all for luggage. The bed was ok to sleep in but the room overlooked the bar/resting and was noisy until about 10:30pm. The bathroom was adequate at best. I couldn’t get a coffee until after 8am. The proximity to hiking and walks was wonderful but there maybe other properties or towns with more to offer.
