We went off season and it was very expensive for the size and condition of the room. Since it was mostly empty I would've loved an upgrade offer. I had to call the front desk and the phone was so sticky and dirty, one of our robes was dirty, had Chapstick in the pocket and food stuck to it. Lastly, the breakfast wasnt as good as I had hoped. It said hot breakfast but no meats, other than cold salmon. For the cost, I had higher expectations and was bummed out because I paid more than I normally do for a room.

The staff was kind but the overall hospitality was subpar for this nightly rate. The sauna area has no towels or soft carpet in winter weather, the "lounge" smelled like mildew and had some repair work laid out in the middle. A hot pot of water or coffee during the day would cost little and go far. Probably much nicer in better weather

We are unsure which lounge you are referring to; our HSKP manager checked all lounges and was unsuccessful in locating the smell or work you mentioned. Love the funky vibe at Porches. Room was well appointed, with a large bath, a couple of comfortable chairs, and a mini-bar (which we didn't wind up using). Staff were friendly. The breakfast selections were fantastic, and the hard working breakfast staff kept the buffet well stocked and the tables clean.

First time staying at the Porches...we enjoyed our stay. the room was comfortable. The bathroom was roomy and clean. The staff was very helpful and considerate..and don't miss the morning breakfast so good.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Porches! Very comfortable bed. Amazing breakfast. Lovely ambiance. Only complaint is that footfalls from second floor are heard on the first floor.

The accomodations maintained their historical era. It had a 1940s decor. The buildings had been individual apartment buildings that were connected together in an interesting yet appealing plan. The staff were extremely nice and welcoming.

We had a great stay. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. And the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. The hotel blends just the right mixture of “old” with all modern conveniences and the grounds are lovely. Our room didn’t lend itself to one person watching TV if the other person wanted to do something else - it was a bit small for that.

Great stay with our fur baby
We spent a couple of nights there with our doggie. It was very comfortable and relaxing. The room was very clean. Loved the design of the hotel, and the grounds are very well cared for. There is a fenced in dog park right next door. We had to be careful not to bring the pup into inside areas where the other guests were. A bit restrictive but worth it to follow rules so we could travel with our fur baby. Breakfast was great.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Porches Inn. We both grew up in the area and it’s wonderful to see these Victorian row houses with new lives. Our room was very comfortable and clean and the decor unique, tasteful and respectfully done. Loved rocking in the chairs on the porch each night and looking at the lit windows of the old Sprague plant (now MASS MoCA) where my dad and grandfathers once worked. Breakfasts were great, staff very friendly and helpful. Overall, an A experience at The Porches!

Perfect from start to finish!
Loved our stay at The Porches! Wonderful staff, great room, super comfortable bed and bedding, spacious bathroom, terrific breakfast buffet, EV chargers were a much appreciated surprise (Thank you!) A special note about the staff -- truly kind and helpful people. We loved everything. Just sorry we only had 2 nights, but we'll come back!

We loved the history behind this hotel, and how creatively they adapted it a modern yet historic property! The Museum next door offered an amazing view and we loved this hotel. Wish we could travel in the area more just to stay here.
