Loved the location of the property. The bed was very firm, the room and property was clean. The check in was good. The staff member was pleasant and efficient.

If you like ships, you will love this hotel. It's built so that every balcony has a perfect view of Lock 7 on the Welland Canal. Easy access to walking trails along the canal, if you want to follow a ship a ways-- which you can, they go slow enough. Staying here was like going back in time-- it was clean and quiet to a standard other hotels in Southern Ontario gave up on at least 10 years ago. There are no dodgy key-cards here: you get an honest-to-Neptune physical key. I admit. I'd rather stay here than a falls-facing hotel in Niagara-- I like the view better. Even if I didn't like the view better, I'd rather stay here than a falls-facing hotel in Niagara because I know there are no bedbugs, and I won't get locked out of my room from a computer glitch. I don't think I've ever liked a hotel this much.

The location of the Inn adjacent to Lock 7 of the Welland Canal was a great bonus. Fascinating to see ships from around the world "locking through" the canal. Great experience!

This property, while not fancy or boasting many amenities, has always been special to me as I love sitting on the small porch and watching the ships transit the lock right outside the door. There are nearby coffee shops and restaurants to every taste. My only wish is that the ice machine, which was discontinued during Covid, would be revived.

We enjoyed the inn this is our second time hear. Love comes to see the boats come though the canel. We like that its a close drive to Niagara Falls n Niagara on the Lake. The rooms are great clean water pressure is great every was great. Will be coming back again next year.

Loved the view from tbe balacony to see the ships coming through the locks. Beautiful area service and beautiful inn i enjoyed my stay and will be back! It was also close to the concert venue we walked to. One of my favorite places now to stay! :) thank you!

Have a thing for Great Lakes freighters and ocean-going ships? This 25-room hotel is a few hundred feet from a lock on the St. Lawrence Seaway. Dozens of ships per day pass in view your balcony. Of course, that happens at night too, so noisy and lots of lights. But cool. Block interior walls, so quiet that way.

It was a plus to watch the boats in the lock. No common areas Smelled old , dirty around baseboards HARD beds. Can’t imagine in hot weather….one small air conditioner at front door preset to 19 or 20 Charged us for another night 25$ more than your rate

The site was unique as to its proximity to the locks and was quite entertaining while we were winding down in the evening. One downside however was the noisy AC units, not only our room but from the neighbour's as well.

I loved the balcony and the view of the lock and the ships coming in. This was fascinating. However the room was very hot when we arrived as the air conditioner was not turned on. There was no phone in the room to call the front desk so we had to go and ask for someone to turn the air conditioner on as we couldn’t figure it out. Because of the location and small size of the air conditioner the room never completely cooled down. There were very few blankets on the bed.

Loved it! Low key & relaxing
This hotel is a very old hotel. My shower didn’t work so I had to take a bath. They don’t have an iron and ironing board in the room. I ask for one and was giving an iron that didn’t work and small ironing board. There was a frig in the room but no microwave. The AC was a small window unit. My bed didn’t have a bed spread or comforter on it. Now with all this being said I would recommend the hotel and I would stay here again. It was so relaxing. It was in the middle of a quite neighborhood. I enjoyed walking around looking at the homes. There is 28 rooms and all of them have private balconies that look out to Lock seven. I loved sitting on the balconies watching the large ships come in. There are also restaurants and a service station in walking distance. If you want low key relaxation this is the hotel for you.

Iron and ironing board are always available on request. It's a steam iron and it does work. Post check-out, the shower knob was found to be loose and could have been fixed during your stay.
