We arrived a bit late to the hotel and missed dinner because of it. One of the staff members went out of his way to personally drive us to a small store nearby to get some food for the night. Really excellent customer obsession!
The meals at the ryokan were full of variety. Lots of little dishes, both hot and cold, and always with green tea. This was definitely a big perk of Hotel Seikoen. It's worth knowing that breakfast is served over in the restaurant area beyond the front desk, while dinner is served in your room.
The hotel itself can be a little hard to find if you're coming in via rail at night. It's beneficial having a print-out of the map or a GPS-enabled device.
