The first resort I stayed in Koh Chang was The Chill Resort and the second The Emerald Cove. I loved them both, but for different reasons.
TEC wasn't expansive like TCR, but its furniture arrangement was by far superior. (To be clear, both were exceptional) I liked how it had both a shower booth and a bath, which allowed two people to shower at the same time after swimming. TCR didn't have a tabletop with a mirror hanging near to it, so it was uncomfortable to do our make-up -TEC had several.
The breakfast was great, but it didn't surpass what I experienced in TCR, which was the best in my life so far. TCR's was all-day + order-off-the-menu (as much as you want).
The pool was nice, but it didn't have a breathtaking view of the beach nor swings and hammocks hanging from trees like TCR did. Still, it was larger and deeper (120cm vs 150cm) than TCR.
The staff was kind and friendly, but not as much as they were in TCR. For instance, TCR staff gave us a tour of its facilities at the beginning so we won't miss out on any, a welcome fruit bowl, etc.
One clear disadvantage of TEC is its lobby location. Strangely, it's placed in the innermost corner, which made check-in and check-out quite annoying.
There are shops and restaurants nearby, unlike some places in Koh Chang where there aren't even streetlamps. To visit the main beaches, you'll have to take Tuktuk, which took 15~20mins and was 50~100b/person.
