Idk why this is on here to book
I had booked a room here a month or more before we took our trip to Colorado. We find it and half or more had burned down. No one had contacted me that it was closed or anything letting me know I needed to make other arrangements.

Upon arrival we were shocked to see the Spanish Peaks Inn burnt & no one available to guide us. Expedia should have known about this & inform us to stay elsewhere.

Made a reservation late at night and drove out of the way to get to the Spanish peaks. We arrived it was pitch black and looked abandoned. Called the number of the locked front door to be told we couldn't check in, there's no running water due to a bursted water line. Property was completely empty.

Had to wait to be uncomfortable
There wasn't anyone at the hotel to check us in and we had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to show up. Our room had a door on the back wall that was locked from the outside and not on the inside and we felt uncomfortable with that and called to say something but was told it would be OK and nothing would happen to us. We stacked some tables and chairs in front of the door just to make sure.

this place needs help, the only thing I liked was the manager came and delivered tp and some wash cloths and was nice.

Nothing was in place, nobody at front desk to book in and we have to ask another guest to call the owner who arrived after 20 minutes to let us in and then disappeared. Garbage all over the property and just beside our room. Smoke detector in the room was hanging on it's wiring. No breakfast offered. No internet. No coffee maker in the room.

The absolute worst motel I have ever stayed in. It was filthy, run down, and the smoke detector was dangling from the wall!!! I cannot believe Expedia represents them. Horrifying….. and terrible. Very unpleasant experience!!!!

Would rather have an extended stay at The Overlook or Bates Motel. Must not be any health inspectors in the county, because the broken windows, destroyed and dissembled parked cars, and overall nightmarish quality of the place says otherwise. Can’t say much for the inside of the rooms as no answer on the online number after calling four times to reserve keys way ahead of time, resulting on not even being able to stay there for the night, yet still having to pay for the room and a refusal to get a refund. Stay away.

Do not stay here. There is a pile of trash in the parking lot that has been there for what seems to be years, the rooms are not clean, and the building is falling apart.

Disappointed
Booked the room because I was extremely tired, reserved and paid on the website. Upon arrival the property looked questionable and I had to wait for the clerk to arrive. I checked in and seen the condition of the room. I decided not to stay and drove another hour to the next town.

Staff was very friendly. That's the only good thing to say. Start with no soap, no toilet paper,, no cups or drinking glasses, no wifi, no coffee of any kind, and dirty.

Hotel looks run down and out of business
No Soap No clean towels torn and dirty looking towels. Mattress had some sort of bag thing under its sheet so it makes lots of noise and produces sweet like a sauna.

It was cheap, and the staff were good. The shower was dirty, one towel had a dirty hand print on it.

i slept ok and there WAS hot water to wash my hair. The surroundings are not taken care of, and the edges of the carpet were suspect as to how clean. they just have not yet taken steps to upgrade the property back to its former level, for example the restaurant and pool have not been fixed up. the king bed felt cheap.

Don’t stay here
Terrible. Toilet ran all night. Air conditioner was LOUD. No WiFi in the room. I called the desk and asked for WiFi password and was told the WiFi was not available in the room. This was a work trip so my computer was useless. Also the lights wouldn’t stay on and flickering. Plug didn’t work to charge my phone. Should I keep going????

While I give grace to older hotels the a/c was not working, locks were not working, trash was everywhere outside and the room I requested was not ready. I needed two beds and the attendant tried to offer me a single bed. I had a sick child and had to wait for her to make everything up. We get in the room to discover very hard beds and that she brought us a heater not a fan. We left.

The Wife and I believe this is the second worst hotel we've ever stayed. The room had NO towels, except for the dirty one along with the dirty cloths, left in the dresser drawer. The toilet paper roll was empty, except for the paper tube left. The bed sheets had unidentifiable stains. The refrigerator was not plugged in, making it worthless. The carpet was nasty dirty. The room chair had spider egg sacks under the seat cushion.

The rooms were filthy. Trash and stains all over the carpet, the furniture, the bathroom, everywhere. There is no soap or anything in the room and the fixtures were held together by duct tape.

The one star reviews before mine are accuruate. I give it an additional star because the room was better than the service and the exterior. This business appears to be closing. One employee may be doing everything on the property and is rarely available in the office. He is renting only five or six of the 30 rooms on site and seemed to be friendly with one or more of the guests in those rooms. He put us in the room with the pile of trash bags in front. It was a Motel Hell on the outside, yet, the room interior was fair. No WIFI and the TV only worked on about 10 lower numbered channels. The upper channels were snowy and static. Scary place but if you are desparate, this is all you have to choose from other than sleeping in your car in some parking lot.

After we checked in, we discovered there was no toilet paper and not enough towels and the staff brought us more towels but said they had no more toilet paper. There was dried blood in the bathroom and the pillow cases we washed but had blood stains on them and the place looked very run down. We will never stay there again. This is the worst okie I’ve ever stayed.

I stayed here for one week as the rates were affordable. The condition of my room was okay everything worked and no bedbugs, a few ants were crawling around the door though . The exterior condition of the motel is terrible - weeds and trash everywhere. Around the pool lounge area there is a bunch of heavy trash like siding and ladders. Bird and wasp nests completely line the edge of the lounge buildings roof edging. The staff never once emptied the exterior trash cans. When I asked for toilet paper, the clerk had none. I am surprised that Huerfano County allows this motel to remain open given its current condition. Overall my stay was quiet though.

I'm not one to normally write a review, but I would have liked to know more before booking this hotel room. The hotel looks almost abandoned. The staff who came and let us into the front office was not super friendly, but he did get us checked in quickly, and with a little joking he opened up a bit. The room looked nice when we walked in, but upon a closer look, there were stains on the sheets, a huge spider web above the curtains, dirty floors, etc. The towels and washcloths were not clean at all. The washcloths had hair in them and were stained. Outside, there was a retaining wall with bushes that was FULL of trash. One cool thing about it is that there are Mud Dobber nests lining one of the buildings, and they were cool to watch. The view of the mountains past the desolate looking establishment was beautiful. It's too bad, because this place could be nice if they did work on cleaning it up. They do not seem to take time to actually clean the rooms at all though. I wish I was better at confrontation and would have been able to ask for a refund and not stayed there, or at least gotten a discount because we needed a place to stay.. I paid over $85 for one night, and was nervous I would be going home with bed bugs. I hope that they can start to take better care of the hotel, and offer their patrons a more safe experience.

The room was dirty with dead millers all over the floor. The room smelled terrible! The bathroom was barely usable. I had spiders crawling on me as I laid in bed. I left the motel at 10pm very disgusted! No manager was available! A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!
