I don't know where to start other than to say that this hotel is in Raton, New Mexico which speaks volumes. The place smelled like weed, bad cooking and crime scene clean up. The TV didn't work, only one light was working. The other two, I have no idea other than one did not have a bulb. The outlet near the bed only had one working plug in, so I had to unplug the only working light in the room to plug in my phone. Really, you should avoid Raton like the plague, but if you have to stay in Raton, avoid the Super 8 like you owe it child support.

I saw many homeless people around the hotel, which made me concerned about the safety of my vehicle while staying at the hotel. The "breakfast" was coffee, cereal, and bagels.

The entrance was poorly marked. The sheets were not fitted and came off the bed. The flooring was poorly put down. They put away breakfast before the posted time.

The best part of my visit was the hostess @ the front desk. She was very personable, courteous, polite and helpful. She has the greatest personality and very hard working. Also plenty of parking in safe place. Walking distance to fast food restaurants and Denny's.

The room door was open upon arriving, wood flooring warped & loose, room was very dirty. No toilet paper, bathroom floor full of hair and not cleaned, bottom of toilet never cleaned filthy full of urine and dust. There was a coffee maker & coffee but no cups to drink it. There was dust everywhere and chips all over the floor. The bottom bed sheet was worn and the elastic loose so it came off in the middle of the night. Rollaway not fastened right and fell open when standing next to it. Light fixtures all loose and when going to turn on they fell sideways. Just overall very Nasty Room would have stayed elsewhere.

Never judge a book by it's cover. First appearances were not super inviting; there were 2 cars in the whole parking lot, the hotel seemed rundown and the stairwell and hallway looks like they sorely needed a deep cleaning, but I trusted the recent reviews and glad I did. For the price, clean room, comfy bed with clean sheets, and clean bathroom, it was totally worth it for a place to put my head afrer a long day of driving.

Nice People, but the place is wore out.
The staff and service at this dated Super 8 are pleasant and friendly, but the building itself needs a facelift. Our door was not easy to open, I actually messed up my shoulder trying to "pull up" as instructed to get into the room. The flooring in our room was "spongy" It felt like they had put linoleum over carpet? The yellow tape going up the stairs was worn out and needed replacing. It's the cheapest in town for a reason, "well used" to say the least. When we arrived, the parking lot was really dark, and there were truck drivers parked, living, and grilling dinner in the parking lot. The entrances and exits into the place were shoddy, with large potholes in the pavement. They needed my credit card info, and wanted to have it on file for "incidentals"? I found this odd and was uncomfortable having to give my card over again, and the help seemed very uncomfortable asking for my card for this "incidental" policy. We got our nights rest, and went on our way, but I don't think we will be returning to Super 8 Raton anytime soon. I hate to give poor reviews, but i feel like this place needs a major updating, and it's one of the poorest Wyndham facilities I've stayed in.

It advertises breakfast and we got a bag with a gronola bar a childs juice and cup of fruit. The tub floor had a large crack and I almost fell. The ice and soda machine was broke and the clock and tv did not wotk. No one answered the phone at the front desk

The check in process was good and the staff were friendly. We booked three rooms and all were in poor condition. The toilets in two of the room had flushing issues. The showers had only a small portion of the water coming out of them, the rest of the water came out of the facet. The drains were very slow draining as well. The AC unit in at least one of the rooms was very noisy. However, everything seem to be clean. The hotel is in desperate need of an make over and updating.

The room was fine. Mattresses were comfortable. Pillows weren't great. There was a refrigerator and microwave. The water was hot (shower head was a bit low). Our room was on the 3rd floor. No elevator. It wasn't a big deal for us, but it would be hard for anyone with mobility issues. The room furnishings looked older, but I did like both of the pictures in the room. The a/c in the room worked great. Common areas were very warm. Biggest disappointment was the "breakfast". It was a Ziploc bag that contained a granola bar, a fruit cup, and a kid's juice box. No cereal, oatmeal, Danishes, toast, or fresh fruit. The biggest plus was the Expedia price of $89. The Super 8 operator said she couldn't go under $150. The biggest bonus was the drive between Clayton NM and Dalhart Texas. There were a lot of pronghorn antelope and the landscapes were beautiful, the perfect setting for a Western (or contemporary Western) movie or TV show.

It was very bad place to spend night at the hotel. The place was smelling and had full of flies and dead insects in corridor. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This Hotel should maybe be condemned, floors are spongy throughout, sheets were paper thin, lights in the room did not work, odd odor throughout the entire building, had it not been 1:30 in the morning we would have found another hotel. Stay somewhere else in Raton!

There was a bulging leak in the ceiling of the shower. The manager (I assume) said he had had it fixed twice before - but it was obviously not fixed. Otherwise, the facility was okay. Decent flooring, otherwise rather outdated, but not too bad. No breakfast.

First room I had hadn’t been cleaned at all. Underwear hanging off of lamp shade, bed messy, towel on the floor. Manager was very accommodating and apologetic about the room. Next room was okay but very rundown.
