Staff was nice enough but place was smelly and run down with bad music coming through the wall from the neighbor. The market next door was only for barbecue restaurants and tourist items. Not an actual market. We left after one night ASAP. The area has potential to come back to life some day and it really should since it is full of historic jewels that have been neglected.

Nice but for some details
Very dark room, many missing bulbs, peeling wallpaper. But overall great service and friendly staff. The bed was comfortable and everything was nice & clean

Had a great stay for the price! Complimentary breakfast was really nice and the staff were all very friendly. Helped us get a SIM card set up and get bikes rented for a ride around Montevideo. Location is great - right in old town Montevideo and right next to Mercado del Puerto - a must see! There was no rooftop bar as advertised, but I'm thinking this might be because of us being there in the offseason.

Muy buen hotel, ampliamente recomendable, solo lo unico que no está tan bueno, es la ubicación, claro si no conoces de primera impresión no es tan bueno, pero despues no hay problema. Pero de todo lo demas está excelente.

No es un hotel 4 estrellas. Nos dieron una habitación con humedad en la pared. No encontraban el registro de nuestra reserva ya paga el día anterior. Ante el reclamo por el estado de habitación, nos pasaron a otra. Pintura y muebles en mal estado, ni papel higiénico había. Desayuno pobre. Lo elegí porque conozco el Don de Punta del Este y no corresponde en nada a la marca. No llega a ser 3 estrellas. El restaurante no está abierto de noche. Pobrísimo y mala experiencia.

Vraiment bien placé, à 2 pas du port, du marché. Bon déjeuner, chambre petite mais adéquate. La piscine était sale donc pas pu employer malgré la grosse chaleur. Personnel accueillant, agréable et très bon accueil.

Incredible little boutique hotel just in the heart at the old city. Everything is walking distance. Staff is amazingly friendly and helpful at all times. I truly recommend this hotel…my stay was amazing!

This was one of the most horrifying hotel experiences I've ever had. I am a very frequent traveler. When returning one evening around 11pm, my key did not work. I went to the front desk and the clerk could not open the door. He said he needed a locksmith to open it. Thats just crazy. Then to make matters worse, the hotel did not have another room to transfer us to for the night so we could sleep. We ended up waiting in the lobby for about 3 hours while the clerk prepared a dirty room for us. Mind you, I did not have access to my medicine, clothes, phone chargers, etc. To make matters worse from there, this room was totally fithly and just smelled like he sprayed lysol everywhere. The next morning I woke up with a rash. We got access to the old room, with our phones dead, hardly getting any sleep because of the smell. The hotel then says they could not process a refund and that I had to PHYSICALLY go to a Western Union. Just insane. Calling my credit card company immediately. While we were waiting for the room, we heard 4 gunshots outside. Neighborhood is sketch, hotel is a complete nightmare. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT stay here.

Likes: Comfortable bed, nice shower The owner drive us into the city for dinner because we were scared and nervous to walk. We took a cab back and the cabbie warned us not to walk out at night at all. Dislikes: The area is full of homeless, drug addicts. There was no window, which is probably a blessing because we didn't want to see the outside. We only stayed one night and went to another hotel. If you are women traveling alone, do NOT stay at this hotel.

A única coisa boa foi a localização porque queríamos ir ao mercado almoçar e o hotel é em frente. O hotel com todas as luzes apagadas, quando chegamos pensamos que estava fechado. O quarto pequeno e escuro. A cama muito barulhenta e desconfortável. O banheiro é sem janela, a água não esquenta e a caixa da descarga vazava e fez barulho a noite interna. O café da manhã foi o pior de toda a viagem. Café horrivel, impossível de beber. Não tinha leite nem manteiga. O presunto esta velho e fedido, não tivemos coragem de comer. As luzes sempre apagadas e a última limpeza deve ter sido antes da pandemia. Na saida pagamos além da diaria caríssima, 8 dólares americanos com duas águas pequenas.

Freundlicer Service, stilvolles Hotel. Für Stadtouristen und Pärchen sehr geeignet, als Businesshotel auch ok, wobei ich die Raumaufteilung im Zimmer eher als hübsch, aber nicht effizient bezeichnen würde. Geschäftsreisende mögen sich daran stören. Es liegt manchmal ein leichter Grillgeruch von der naheliegenden Markthalle in der Luft, nicht extrem aber etwas störend bei offenem Fenster. Wenige Meter Links vom Ausgang beim rausgehen ist ein hervorragendes kleines Fischimbissrestaurant, super für Mittag, aber leider nur bis zum frühen Abend geöffnet.

No check in houve dificuldade em encontrar um quarto, mesmo tendo a reserva antecipada, demonstrando falta de controle do hotel. No site constava que tinha piscina e bar na cobertura. De fato havia, mas estavam bloqueados, em reforma, segundo informado. Parecia mais abandonado do que em reforma. E isto não estava sendo informado no site. Além disso o elevador não estava funcionando. No box do banheiro, houve desplacamento do gesso do teto. Todavia, o quarto atendeu às expectativas, e, apesar dos pesares, os funcionários foram simpáticos e resolveram os problemas do check in.

Worn out hotel with open air music venue across
It might have been cute and charming once upon a time, but staying there was a mistake. The hotel is seriously worn out. I mean towels with holes, old airconditioning not anymore up to the task of cooling and very noisy, pool with many tiles missing and so on. This is also the first hotel I have ever been that asks you to sign a paper that they will charge you USD 10,00 for very time/day you consume/drink something in your room, unless it is from the poorly stocked and very expensive minibar. Although they advertise "Home Made" breakfast, nothing is really home made and average quality. Worst is the open air concert venue right across the small street. From our room we could look right into it. As we stayed there during Carnival, we had a weekend with three events and another weekend with 5 events that lasted till the wee hours. And then a rock concert in the middle of the week. Noise reached up to 63-65 decibels inside the room. Obviously sleeping was impossible. We had a room at the front of the hotel, and at our request they moved us to the back of the hotel in a much smaller room, but the sound reflection was still way to strong. We requested for a room in another hotel of the same company that was away from the noise, but that was refused. At the end we left the hotel and booked another. We were not re-imbursed for those nights lost. Horrible experience and we will never ever return.

Perfect location. Really nice staff across the board. Located in the heart of Ciudad Viejo and across the street at the market restaurants you can get some of the best beef in the country cooked on a wood fire. Very nice overall.

Great location to explore the Old Town. Clean, modern decor. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good size room given the hotel is a lot more compact in reality than it looks in the pictures. Obviously as others have said, it's right next to the old market and a music venue for cruise passengers, so expect noise from the street. My only gripe is why they insist on you signing a form saying you will incur a $10 fine if you take your own food or drink into your room - this is just really annoying and I cannot imagine what they are hoping to achieve by it. So we hid a bottle of coke and a packet of crisps in our case when we were out in case we got fined. Honestly, what a ridiculous situation to create for your so-called guests.
