The resort looks nice in the pictures posted but when you are on the property it’s average. The buffet area’s layout is terrible for the amount of foot traffic. Keep in mind if you eat at the buffet at lunch or dinner, your bill will include a service charge. The servers won’t tell you if you leave a tip. Also if you want to go to the beach area, the staff tell you not to take the towels there because of the sand. Isn’t that the whole point of having a beach towel?? Also don’t order room service. They will send you the wrong orders, then send you the correct one when you call down but charge you for both orders. When you bring it up to the front desk’s attention… they have a group huddle with all the staff members and try to blame it on you. Asking if the signature is ours and that we signed both copies. Just a complete waste of time. I’m sure there are better resorts in goa with better service.

First the good things: The staff here is amazing! Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Also, the food served at the restaurant is very good and the people working there are awesome! The splash pad and pool are also nice. What needs improving: The kids playground is old and peeling. There is an extra charge for all of the kids activities - there is a trampoline, archery, etc. I paid $300 per room (which I later found out was way above what other guests paid - my bad!), so I definitely felt like that should've all been included. Also, the beach has several local bars on it, so there is litter strewn all over and it's very loud. If I had it to do over, I would stay at the Kenilworth, which is right next door. I should mention that we did eat twice over at the Kenilworth and the staff was not nearly as friendly and accommodating as at Royal Orchid. If you get a good rate on this hotel (some of the guests said they paid $150), then I think it would be considered a good deal. For $300/night, it was a rip off.

Mostly disappointing- but the kitchen!
The room had a special inconvenient smell when entering. The pool is only 4 feet deep, but still very easy to see that the water was everything but clean. Check out was… the longest check-out experience I’ve ever had - 52 minutes. No late check out possible, despite the resort was practically empty. BUT the resort had a very knowledgeable and helpful chef - all honor to him!

THIS IS A SCAM. I DON'T KNOW HOW THIS PROPERTY IS LISTED AS A 5 STAR PROPERTY HERE ON EXPEDIA. DO NOT FALL FOR THE IMAGES! The rooms were not cleaned up at all. The bed had sand on it. We reported this to the housekeeping and they said they cleaned our rooms. We came back to the rooms only to find stains (blood-like) on the bed linen. My parents who were staying in another room had a lizard rolled into their bedsheet. My mom was not able to sleep that night. The bathroom was not even cleaned to the basic level. It had stuff used by previous guests. There were earbuds on the dirty bathroom floor. The floor was not cleaned when we entered the rooms. It had dust and sand all over. The bathroom did not have basic toiletries like body wash and shampoo on the 1st day even after multiple requests. The bathroom shower was leaking water right into the room even after closing the door properly. The bathroom sink had stains from the previous guests which we had to clean ourselves before using. The fridge was dirty, we cleaned it ourselves. Yet it was not clean enough to use.

Hôtel très bien situé, beau jardin, belle plage à 200 m de marche à travers le jardin. Plusieurs bars et restaurants sur la plage. Le staff est très sympa et accueillant. Seul gros bemol, cet hôtel est vieux, très vieux, très très vieux. Les chambres sont propres mais d'un autre âge. La seule chose qui provient de ce millenaire est la TV ecran plat.... Dommage. Dans ces conditions clairement pas du 5* mais un 3* correct. Mais une fois renové de fond en comble j'y retournerais volontiers.

Beautiful beach property
One of the best stays in Goa, I consider it more like a 4star property. Rooms are old and fans and lights were dirty. Bed was comfortable and toilet was clean. Approach to beach has water logging. Service in the restaurant was very good.

The grounds and the pool areas were very beautiful and well maintained. The proximity and access to the fabulous beach was good. Security at the lobby entrance and beach entrance was good. The food in the restaurant was good. The staffs were very responsive, polite and attentive to our needs. Mabel and her entire team went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. The rooms are dated and could use renovations and updating.

Comfortable stay
We had a very comfortable stay at Royal Orchid in Uttorda. We had rooms with an amazing view of the grounds. There were lots of families. The pool and beach were great for our needs as a young family. We were unhappy that we were asked to pay in full upon checkin.

Absolutely awesome time with family!!!
We had booked 4 pool facing rooms. The resort was very child friendly and had lot of games and activities for the kids. The staff was very warm and friendly. The food was delicious and my entire family loved it. Overall it was a fantastic experience. Special mention of Fransquinha, Prakash, Vinod, Rohit who went out of the way to make us comfortable.

Best part of the resort is the clean and white sand beach next to it. We also enjoyed sitting and soaking sun in their in well maintained lawn. Vegetarian food at Cosmos was very good (barring desserts) and way better than most of the eateries in Goa. Reception area and room need some work to meet star standards.

Staff is very helpful and attentive, but attention to detail is missing, I had room probably next to kitchen. Loud kitchen noises in lawn, not my idea of being in South Goa in an isolated resort near a quite beach, plus they had some hammer and drills running around my room (above or next to the room) which made it hard for us to have the infant sleep. I could have asked them to shift me to the room further toward beach but I saw a loud marriage reception party on the other side and I was thankful that my room was next to kitchen. To be honest I was happy to check out so I might have not given right feedback to them.

Very good breakfast, okay dinner. Rooms were too small and old to be a 5star hotel. Also the taxies are more expensive from this hotel compared to other hotels.

Need of maintenance
I liked the place and got a nice welcome. Beautiful beach and pool. However, in a 5 star hotel I would expect much more of the room itself. It looked old, broken chair, lamp shade damaged and gave me a cold feeling- everything white. The bathroom didn’t look well maintained and it was bad handwork. I watch man was standing outside my room day and night so I couldn’t open the curtains.

Worst hotel. Very poor room. Dirty and i got 2 single beds when i booked for 1 kind bed. They dont have private beach just the access. They dont allow to go to beach after 9pm. You have to go from mail road.whats the point of spending so much on such properties then. They dont even have lounges. Just a small poolside bar and only one restaurant. Gala dinner new year also was pathetic. They gave only basic drinks and you have to pay extra for just imfl also. Food was cold and pathetIc.

this resort is infested with rats drains are constantly blocking up in the room and flooding with water and toilet drain , no facility for disable people though it states its 5 star but i wouldn't rate it more than 2 star. the only thing this so called resort survives is the people who work there, specially restaurant staff and pool guys. managers are not helpful at all and higher management needs to get their head out of back side and listen to guest as only they are keeping them afloat. I would not recommend this resort to anyone book some where else you will save money and hassle.NEVER AGAIN WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY

Just to note, this was recommended to us by Expedia when our initial hotel booking was bumped due to a change in owners. The hotel was rated as 5 star, and maybe it is 5 star for Goa, but it is probably 3 star on other standards. Rooms are as per photos but a little dated, however once all that was got over, it was clean, the staff excellent, the pool very nice, and the location was really good with quite a few eating choices both on and off the beach. So, very good service and location.

3star fits in for this resort, not 5 star.
The rooms A/C needs tobe upgraded. Old noicy air conditioner . Lunch and dinner buffet is very ordinary in quality and taste, and not much choices. Better to go alacart. It's not fair to call this resort as 5 star resort. May be a 3 star fits in. Generally staffs are good. There is nothing around the resort .

Overall Super Stay, Warm and hospitable reception, fast check in, nice quint villas converted in various rooms, pool with a bar counter, super room service, though found the rooms to be small, they were comfortable and well maintained. Bet part was as required my Air conditioning was superly chilling. Loved it. Well spread breakfast buffet though and efficient service here as well.

Direkt am Strand, alles sehr gepflegt, super Pool
Super Hotel. Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Besonders im Bereich der Rezeption waren wir überrascht, wie man sich bemühte. Sogar das Zimmer dürften wir uns aussuchen (Erdgeschoss oder 1. Stock, eher sonnig oder schattenseitig). Hilfreich auch bei Tourenplanungen. Auch der über das Hotel gebuchte Taxitransfer klappte trotz Flugverspätung von über einer Stunde beste uns und es wurde uns kein höherer Preis als jener, der bei der Buchung vereinbart wurde, verrechnet. HP und a la carte Restaurant empfehlenswert. Indische und internationale Gerichte. Dezente Livemusik jeden Abend im Restaurant. Schöner Kinderspielplatz. Ausreichend Platz. Sehr gut gepflegte Poolanlage. Perfektes zimmerservice. Strand gereinigt und überwacht. Strandverkäufer kamen nur sehr selten vorbei und waren an diesem Strand im Gegensatz zu anderen Stränden in Indien nicht besonders lästig. Die ganze Hotelanlage ist Tag und Nacht bewacht. Wir würden sofort wieder dieses Hotel buchen.

its good hotel with great outdoor atmosphere
Its okay hotel for the amount they charged, staff is not as friendly as expected, they can certainly improve customer relation. They have good breakfast menu but food quality is not great.

This is the first bad review I've ever given :-(
Awful, how this is classed as 5 star is beyond me! Unhappy, unhelpful & even rude staff, outdated, scruffy room, bathroom dirty, fridge broken. But the worst has to be the swimming pool ... many broken tiles on the floor of the pool, which I didn't notice until after I badly cut my foot on them! After the wound had been treated I expected someone to come and aplogise for the injury, no one cared & I was just told they couldn't mend the broken tiles as they were too busy, 2 other guests that day were injured by broken tiles, it's dangerous & totally unacceptable that they are aware of the serious problem but do nothing more than patch up injured guests as oppose to mending the badly damaged pool?! This hotel needs closing down immediately & fully refurbishing to a safe standard before anyone else should have to waste their money staying here!

the hotel rooms could be cleaned to a higher standard, the cost for the rooms does not reflect the level, its too much to pay, they food was outstanding
