Fabulous!
Amazing location and many comforts. Beds and bedding were wonderful. Bread, milk, coffee, butter and juice for the first few days was a lifesaver. Very responsive to leaking toilet, and problems with penthouse gas fireplace.

The property was well maintained and the owner communicated effectively. Nice welcome touch with a loaf of bread, milk and orange juice. Somehow I misinterpreted Two bedroom suite as two bathrooms - my bad! It worked out alright for my mom and husband. There was a construction going on nearby but they were done early enough, didn't bother our dinner hours at home. Overall, nice stay.

The unit we stayed at at Alma Manor could not have been more comfortable or more pleasant. A short walk to the beach, a short walk (1 block) to a street with cafés and restaurants and a very good bus route. The owner was extremely accommodating and answered any questions we had promptly. I will recommend Alma Manor to any friends traveling to Vancouver and have already done so.

It was quite a treat to stay here. We loved the easy access to transportation to get wherever we wanted. It's a nice walk to the beach and there are ample grocery options nearby. We used bikes, transit and feet to get around and absolutely loved Vancouver. Our downstairs Irish neighbors were a bit noisy but otherwise it was a quite neighborhood.

Thank for your review. It is rare that Vancouver gets so hot. As we are beside the ocean, we tend to get lots of cool breezes through the windows and skylights.

Rentamos un Pen House, por 10 dias. El mismo nos lo entregaron no al 100 porciento de limpio. La tele nunca sirvio. Le dijimos al dueño y nunca hizo nada al respecto. Pesimo servicio. De igual forma hay cucarachas en el edificio y en los departamentos, cocina baños etc lo que de igual forma le hicimos del conocimiento al dueño y no hizo nada. En las camas aparecieron animales rastreros que nos dieron picazon. Hay una construccion enfrente que hace ruido sin cesar de 8 a 6 de la tarde. Nunca limpian el edificio. Habia basura de dias atras que nunca vaciaron en el centro se lavado. Muy mal lugar para hospedarse y caro y lejos de las atracciones turisticas. Jamas hicieron la limpieza por 10 dias. Y quieren que al final de la estancia tu si les entregues un depto limpio.

Hello,I have read and reread your comments several times . Needless to say, you had nothing good to say.I will respond to each point:I am the owner and came up to meet you personally to welcome you and ask if there is anything I can do for you. At that time you told me about seeing cockroaches under the sink and that the TV was not working.We have never had cockroaches in our building but I then investigated to find out what we need to do. After you left, my wife and I stayed in the suite for 3 nights. We cleaned out everything and did not see one cockroach dead or alive.Subsequently, to be safe, we put killer chemicals into any openings we could find.With regards to the TV, you indicated that you were not using it. I discovered only then that the Roku remote was missing. Without it, the TV does not work. I have ordered replacement remotes as it appears that the remote was misplaced.Our cleaners do an excellent job cleaning the suites and they take great pride in their work. I am surprised about your comments and have difficulty in accepting this. You did not say anything about this when I was there with you and your husband in the apartment,I repeatedly asked you if everything is ok. Your husband said you do not need the TV and there was no mention of cleanliness, noise or bugs in beds!I would have expected you to tell me about these serious dissatisfactions.We are located very centrally in Vancouver and on the busline that can get you anywhere.I am sorry that it did not please you and I apologize to you if this left you with a negative experience. We try very hard to please our guests as you can see from previous reviews. We have had nothing but great reviews from previous guests. Hence I am taken aback . We already have taken action against any potential rodents and TV remotes. May I suggest for the future, that you mention and complain about disfactory items while you are in the premises and when the management can do something about it.Sincerely ,Manfred

Enjoyable stay
Alma Suites were very clean. The entrance spray smell was not to my taste but that was not important. The seating in the entrance and outside was lovely to sit in. The property is on a pretty road, with on street parking and close to a convenient bus route. Also walking distance to shops, cafes, restaurants etc. And a beach. Plenty of hot water fir the shower and bath. Communication with the owner was excellent. The studio flat had everything we needed except personally, we would have liked curtains as well as blinds as the early morning sun in June woke us up. A fan was provided but only one window opened for fresh air. As the studio was on the ground floor, maybe that is for security. Overall, we stayed 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

It was so thoughtful of the hosts to leave orange juice, milk and bread in the fridge as a welcome! The only thing we didn’t love was the bed - not entirely comfortable, especially the pillows were the kind with very little give, unfortunately. This wouldn’t stop me from booking again, though. The place was beautiful, clean, a reasonable price and the host was very thoughtful and easy to communicate with. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

This was a great place for a couple with 4 kids spending a week in Vancouver. There was no air conditioning, but we were comfortable at night when we opened windows. The area is great, located near lots of beaches and excellent public transit.

So much better than a hotel -- great bed, great bathroom, very nice kitchen, great sitting area. Whole unit is updated despite being in an historic building. Lots of light coming in from big windows. Only negative was traffic noise, but it settled down around 11 p.m. and the mornings were quiet. Stay here and you don't need a car -- Vancouver's clean, efficient buses go to all directions from right outside the unit. You can be whisked right into downtown in about 10 minutes. Not the best unit for people who have trouble with stairs, as you climb up to the front door and then once inside, up to the unit. .

We loved our stay at Alma Beach Suites! The location in the Kitsilano neighborhood is exceptional, charming, and beautiful with easy walking access to the beach (we took nightly walks), cafes, bakeries, restaurants, Whole Foods, a park, tennis courts, buses, etc. It felt like we were living in Vancouver. We used buses or taxis to reach downtown, Stanley Park, UBC, Gastown, Capilano Suspension Bridge, etc. We stayed in the one bedroom English Bay Suite, the kitchen was fully stocked with cooking supplies, and we received a sweet welcome basket with delicious bread, milk and more. Manfred was so helpful in emailing relevant information and sightseeing recommendations in Vancouver, too. We will definitely return to this special place.

Great house in a beaut, accessible neighbourhood
A very pleasant staying in a nice classic Vancouver house, located in a lovely convenient neighbourhood. Great kitchen, comfy beds, great outside deck. Transport to downtown literally 2 min walk. Good supermarket less than 10 min walk. Liquour outlet with good range 2 min walk. We were really able to experience Vancouver at its best, and the house left a great impression! Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Vancouver.

We really appreciated the welcome pack on arrival. Milk, bread, cereal, juice, tea, nespresso capsules and cookies. Access was exactly as stated in the email from the owners. Every access door in the building is coded so you always feel secure. There’s a laundry room where washing machine and dryer only cost a dollar to use. Laundry capsules were even provided. Everything you needed for a very comfortable stay was provided and WiFi was excellent. The beds were extremely comfy. The bus stop is only 2 mins away with a very regular service to downtown and UBC. There’s a good choice of restaurants within walking distance. The owners were excellent communicators. We really enjoyed the location of Alma Beach and would have no hesitation in recommending. Next time in Vancouver we would hope to stay again.

Stay in a neighborhood, not just a hotel!
The booking process was very easy. A beautiful home that's right in the heart of the Kitsilano neighborhood. Lots of bikers, walkers and friendly dogs.

Great Space! Could use some tweaking.
Hosts were excellent. Directions perfect. We stayed on the main floor two-bedroom suite. Lovely basket in the fridge with bread, butter, juice etc very much appreciated. The main space was lovely. We were able to have our son and girlfriend with her mom for dinner - we made salmon bought from the Granville Island Market. The only comments I could say is while this house is on a fairly quiet street, the main street behind is quite noisy. The windows are original in the home so very thin glass hence a lot of noise from traffic. I would suggest the owners mount blackout drapes in the bedrooms to control the noise and light. We went for an amazing walk through the park across the street and down along the waterfront. The main street close by had everything we needed, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery etc... It was very quiet in the home. There were other guests but didn't see them.

Excelente hotel é muito acolhedor. Me senti um morador de Vancouver de um bairro muito agradável. Conveniência por perto, mas me senti bem tendo o carro pra me locomover para o centro e outra atrações. A garagem não é grande, como o carro era eu acabei parando na rua, mas sempre tem vaga e o bairro é muito tranquilo assim como Vancouver toda. O quarto estava bem equipado e a maioria dos dias eu mesmo cozinhei... e sem problemas, pois tem de tudo na cozinha. Quando voltar pra Vancouver, com certeza irei procurar por eles novamente.

It was a great location, very clean. Very comfortable and spacious, just what I needed for my stay. Full kitchen made it easy to make my own meals, would definitely stay there again. The only downside was all the stipulations for cleaning up afterwards, it's not a cheap stay and I had to make sure my dishes were done, take out the garbage, and sort the recycling out back. I could pay $50/ night at a hotel and not have to do any cleaning, maybe that's something they can look at in the future.

The location is terrific - it has a grocery store nearby, tea shops and busses. I needed to be at UBC and it only took 15 minutes by bus to get there. The location is very near the water, so I was able to run along Point Grey to the beaches and have some lovely runs. I didn't see any staff; you need to be pretty self-sufficient in your unit - but it had everything you could need. I appreciated being able to buy my own groceries and preparing my own meals (especially breakfast!) The unit was spotless. I was in the Ambleside suite. I believe other units might have a more up to date bathroom. The kitchen looked to have been recently renovated - with large, stainless steel appliances (including gas stove). The unit was very quiet, despite being right by the front door. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay.

It is a very clean and convenient place to stay. There are snacks in the fridge and staff is easy to contact about any issues.
