We are very pleased with Simmer Motel. It is a very good choice for a low budget motel. I look forward to when the remodel is done. The staff was super! We will stay here again!

The room we are in smells “wet” and musty. I’m assuming there was a water issue or something in the recent past. Besides the smell, the carpet between the beds by the night stand it pretty gross. But other than that, the property is clean.

The Simmer Motel did not give me the room that I booked and paid for.  I reserved the King Suite with a jacuzzi and four post bed and was given a different room.  When I brought this up, they blamed Expedia and said that the room was unavailable (I have never had an issue like this with Expedia in my life).  To their credit, they did give me a partial refund. The room I ended up with, while inferior to what was advertised/that I booked, was okay.  Just "okay."  The temperature control unit was very loud, the bathroom was uncomfortably small, with a very small shower and almost no counter space.  The walls weren't very soundproof (despite what was advertised) and I could hear the neighbors.  The doors don't have keys and instead have a code system to lock/unlock, which was not very user friendly (our door took many attempts to lock every time), nor does it seem particularly secure.  My stay was bearable but I wouldn't stay here again

not worth the money
the room smelled moldy right as we walked in. the fridge still had food in it from someone else. there was hair in the shower. and our neighbors yelled all night. i do not recommend sgaying here. not worth the money at all. we almost just left but it was late and i didnt want to drive 3 hrs in the dark.

The one nice thing I can say was the staff were friendly. The room was dirty. Dead bugs all over the floor. Rust water coming out of the faucets. The air conditioner sounded like a jet engine. Not a good night sleep and not a great experience.

Comfortable but not what we paid for.
We booked our room as a king suite a month before our stay for our anniversary. Upon arrival we learned the room we had pre-paid for was given to someone else and there was not a comparable room available. We were placed in a standard room but management told us that since we had paid through hotels.com they could not issue a discount or refund just an apology. This was very upsetting as we had paid extra for the king suite with the jetted tub. Otherwise the room we ended up in was comfortable but basic. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean and it had a decent sized TV. We have stayed at this motel for the last 10 years and this has been our only negative experience and we learned they were under new management. We enjoyed our stay but it was disappointing.

It was easy to access and close to everything. I would just say it needed some curtains (because the lights at night were bright) and a coffee maker. Other than that it was a very enjoyable stay.

Nice stay
We wanted a place to overnight after the Paxico Jazz Fest. This motel was close and convenient. It was clean and comfortable. I would have liked a coffee maker for a cup of coffee in the morning. Checking in and out was easy. I don't know if they had wi-fi. There wasn't anything in the room about it. Wi-fi would have been nice.

We were very disappointed in our stay. We requested the king suite and in the details of the description describe it as having a jetted tub. It had a regular bathtub with a shower head that was not high enough for us to stand under. It also said there would be a coffee pot in the room and there was not. This room was not anything like the description. It needed a lot of maintenance. Stains on the carpet and the bathroom threshold was coming up so we could barely shut the door. The toilet seat was also loose when you sat down. For the amount of money spent it was not what was advertised. I would not stay again.

For the price they charge you would think they would have a staff member in the office during normal working hours. After checking in it was 2 days before we could exchange towels. Basically the room was clean. But it had roaches. The pool is of no use and appears to have been abandoned for several years. Shower curtain was not attached to the wall. Had to be moved to another room due to a broken toilet seat upon arrival. No ice machine on the property. Would no recommend.

We understand they are remodeling but our room was not. The room was clean, it was quiet and safe. The room and it's furniture was ok. AC struggled and the bed? It left a lot to be desired.

We received a confirmation text the morning of our stay with the room number and code. When we arrived at the property around 1030 that evening, and use the code it worked. However, it was completely the wrong room as there were people‘s clothing items on the floor. Thankfully, the office or the office phone number and apparently there was a “mess up and messaging service” and wrong text messages went out. We were then directed to the correct room. We chose to stay at this property as there was nothing available on a game day near Manhattan Kansas. If you stay at this property, keep your expectations low. The town is adorable however, the room we had was not adorable with low lighting. And toilet stains. As price gouging happens on game weekends, the quality was not equal to the price. We literally only slept there and took quick showers and exited the property and spent the rest of the day in Manhattan. If 1 keeps her expectations low, and remind himself this is a motel along the highway, you will be perfectly fine.

Good themed stay.
Good stay. Bare minimum amenities but great overall atmosphere. Love the OZ suite overall design. Complimentary toiletries could be improved. None were provided other than 2 tiny bars of hand soap. Still a family favorite.
