This was my third visit to the George , it is so convenient to sleep here after a relaxing spa session at the Aqua Sana in Longleat. This time I booked the four poster bed and it was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Will be back.

Highly recommend
One night stop over after visiting Longleat. Large comfortable room with comfy king size bed. Variety of hot drinks available in room.Had a lovely dinner in the pub restaurant which felt cosy and Christmasy.

We really enjoyed our stay everyone was really helpful and made the stay special .minor complaint was there was with the heating we were compensated for it not working thinking about booking again next year with more family

The place looked nice and was lovely but was very noisey if you wanted to get any sleep and when we arrived the bed sheets had either feces or blood on them.

Great accommodation
We stayed here for one night for a family party. The accommodation was great, we had a lovely room, very comfortable bed and great bathroom. The service was great as soon as we checked in.

Excellent find, comfortable, clean, great amenities, lovely food - very friendly staff - we didn’t go, but great location for Longleat and about 40 to 50 mins from Frome, Glastonbury and Clark’s Village at Street, it was a last minute decision to stay there on our way to Somerset- will definitely go back and visit Longleat - cannot recommend enough Only downside and for us minor (being an old building) floor boards creek

Perfect place for a break.Spacious rooms, very well equipped as well. Check in was quick and simple with a caring friendly attitude. Very dog friendly too. The staff here always have a smile on their face and interact with guests. Definitely recommend.

My partner & I stayed at the Hotel as it was within a convenient distance to Longleat. The property is very charming, breakfast was very good and also a lot of options. Our room did have a comfy bed and pillows however the location of the room (Room 12), the landing that leads to/ from all the other rooms and back to the Pub, was very noisy with a lot of creaky floor boards. The room also had a stench of sweaty feet upon arriving so we left the window open as well as the room door to try and clear out the smell (it did subside a bit however we then had an air purifier which was running constantly after that). The carpet had not been vacuumed, there were nail clippings and other debris on the carpet, the room had a lot of cobwebs in the corners, enough to see they have been there a while. The food in the restaurant was also not particularly great, for me and my partner. Unfortunately both dishes lacked flavour (1 Beer Battered Cod & Chips, 1 Butter Chicken Burger).

Being the cheapest of my choices, I wasn't expecting wonders but upon arriving (fairly late too) I was greeted by a well mannered and kind woman who told me everything I needed to know and directed me to my room. I had only booked for one double bed but I ended up with what I think was a family room. It was spacious for an inn, very clean and I had everything I could've needed. I even managed to get food at the bar before bed and it was the best I had my entire trip. I highly recommend The George Inn, I will definitely be using them again when I return this year.

Room itself was clean and tidy but beds were very soft and bathroom seemed a bit “tired”. The shower in particular had very low pressure.

We got so much for the price we paid .. for less than a premier inn we had a delightful room which was clean and comfortable and quiet. We had a great nights sleep. Friendly service and a brilliant stop before / after visiting Longleat ( Aqua Sana but could also be a good stop for Center Parcs or the Safari Park)

Staff were friendly and even our little dog was made so welcome. Beautiful room and very clean. Would definitely book here again.

Tired pub, great staff.
The George Inn’s staff are what make it. Unfortunately the road location is pretty noisy and the place itself is just a bit tired and run down, not at all how the pictures look when looking in the rooms. However, you just couldn’t be disappointed when the staff - whether behind the bar, waiting tables, cheffing or staffing breakfast simply couldn’t do enough for you. I’m sure we weren’t easy customers and the place was packed most of the 3 day, 2-night visit we were there - but they really are worth their weight in gold!

Lovely snowy break
Our stay was lovely the room was nice and warm and the beds very comfy. There is a smart tv on a wall bracket which is a bonus, also included in the room is a large Dyson fan which we didn’t need to use but was a nice addition. We stayed for 3 nights and everyday the room was refreshed and fresh water bottles left by the nightstands and a top up of teas and coffees. The bathroom was nice and modern and the water was always hot in the shower, it could’ve maybe done with a few more essentials - possibly a toothbrush holder/ a small hand towel holder as trying to dry ur towels on a small heated towel rail was a little challenging. The water in the taps comes out freezing at first and takes a good few minutes of running before any warm water comes out - maybe a pump could be installed as the building is quite large. The only thing which was a little annoying was outside of our room in the corridor was a large door to access the rooms and it doesn’t have a soft close - it bangs very loudly whenever anyone goes through it which isnt great late at night or putting our little girl to bed. We didn’t book breakfast with our room but they were very accommodating and was able to have breakfast on 2 of the mornings, lovely food with a good range of cereals/ breads/ pastries etc - pancakes and bacon were a particular favourite! Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to friends and family, the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Lovely rooms and facilities
Great location for overnight stay following trip to Longleat for the Festival of Lights, also very near Warminster. Checked in, but were unable to have dinner due to a powercut, but staff signposted us to various pubs available nearby in Warminster, and due to the inconvenience gave us free breakfast the next morning, which was fab. Room was great - clean, comfortable and all mod cons - plenty of wardrobe space, coffee maker, fan, clock radio and huge TV with full access and free Wi-Fi. Had a lovely stay - only downside, due to the location was the traffic noise, which would be hugely reduced if they had double-glazing. However we would definitely stay again - loads of parking, huge outside play area, doggy friendly and great food and friendly staff. Thanks for a great stay 😊

Great distance to longleat safari park.
The Inn was lovely the female member of staff that checked us in was friendly the room was massive slight damp patch in the corner of the room. Everything worked well and the coffee was great the outside drinking area was a delight we played games in the bar which was lovely. The room itself as I have said was massive great for a family great choice of tv the water bottles by the bed when you removed the top had what appeared to be mould around the rim the bed was really comfortable I would say where are room was there was some fan noise going all night it woke me twice and I wouldn’t say I’m a light sleeper. The bathroom was a lovely size the shower was brilliant there were cupboard under the sink that popped open and could do with a dust. It was a brilliant distance to longleat.

Perfect
Large comfortable room, with a Nespresso, kettle, tea etc, TV. Nice bathroom with a proper bath and good shower over, plenty of hot water. Pleasant pub in which to enjoy a couple of drinks before bed. Bed was comfortable and a quiet location. EXCELLENT freshly cooked breakfast. The petrol station opposite has 2 Instavolt rapid chargers - they are only available when the petrol station is open, but it opens at 0630 so I ran the car over there and it charged whilst I had breakfast.

We liked our stay and found it very handy as a location base while seeing the sights we wanted to view. The food and staff were nice and had a good area outside to enjoy if you wanted. I guess the bathroom could do with some more items, eg toilet brush, shelf over the sink, but still a quality bathroom. Nice stay all in all.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Liz is an exceptional member of staff and goes to so much trouble to make your stay comfortable. If you checking in very late, always let them know so they can make necessary arrangements as front desk closes approx. 2230hrs

A pleasant stay with generous sized family room
Nice room, some areas needed attention like the wallpaper peeling and the curtains, but other than that was generously sized as a family room with a dividing curtain and a decent sized bathroom with dual sinks. Food was very very average, I think they have somewhat oversold the quality of the food, but breakfast was substantial and tasty. The room had a Dyson fan which was welcomed. The outside of the building looks a bit tired. Handily opposite the fuel station and within 5 miles of longleat safari
