Beautiful hotel in a lovely setting.
A short drive to the Numbi gate of Kruger National Park. Hotel accommodations were clean and comfortable and the Orange Restaurant on site has great food. Friendly staff.

Hidden pearl!
Unbelievably well priced for a 5 star. We stayed at the honey moon suite and had a private pool as well as private grill. The suite is a separate wood house, completely private, high seiling, large space, very luxurious. Top 5% of my life at a very decent price.

Relaxing stay at Tonquani Lodge
From our arrival to our departure,we were more than impressed by the friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism of every single staff member ensuring a relaxing ,private and comfortable stay. We stayed in the spacious honeymoon chalet,and the spa bath, heaters,fireplace and electric blanket were perfect for the chilly winter evenings. And no leaving the room on a cold winter morning for breakfast - the option of room service was welcome and well utilised! The breakfasts were delicious and well presented with a daily choice of fresh homebakes.The kettle braai also came in handy while we relaxed on the private deck surrounded by nature.The spa treatment was professional.

Romantic hide-away
lovely serene setting, very friendly staff, secluded, romantic wooden chalets. A pity we only booked a 1-night stopover; we would have liked to stay longer

Gorgeous and romantic
Probably the most beautiful chalet I've seen, highly recommended for Honeymooners! Aside from the great room size, double bathtub and shower, we also loved the generous breakfast and cooked options. Great attention to details was everywhere, including having a hair conditioner and cotton pads which I appreciated. Location feels secluded, about 1 km up the main road, and a few minutes driving to knysna waterfront centre. Service was also amazing, everyone were nice and helpful beyond expectations. In short - thanks for a really great stay, please stay like this!

Tonquani Lodge & Spa war ein Aufenthalt wert!
Wer Entspannung im Grünen, in urwaldartiger Umgebung und bei Vogelgesang sucht, der liegt hier richtig. Dabei unterstützt sehr zuvorkommendes Personal die Behaglichkeit. Die kurze Distanz in die Stadt lässt sich mit sehr billigen Taxidiensten und lieben Drivern überwinden.

Clean , quite and Very Friendly
Staff were very welcoming and very accommodating. Lodges were lovely and location secluded and quite Didn't realise that payment would be required in local currency so subject to variation. Also 50% was due before arrival this too wasn't made clear on the Expedia site. Expedia quoted £ price could never have match Rand even thou the Rand rate was the most favourable in decade.

Lovely chalets in a beautiful garden
We had a lovely time at Tonquani - quirky little wooden chalets set in a beautiful garden. The staff were fantastic & the breakfast was very good. The location was quiet & peaceful but only a few minutes drive to Knysna Quays which was full of restaurants - a very busy & lively place.

Friendliest staff ever
The people at the reception desk, and the women at the spa were wonderful. We had the best massages in South Africa at this lodge. The breakfast was lovely, and the room gave us plenty of space to stretch out. It was a great home base for our visit to Knysa.

It was nice but overpriced for what it was, the spa is very good and staff friendly and helpfull but facility's not that great especially the breakfast room was was small and stuffy .

The best place to stay in Knsyna
I stayed with my family for 3 nights in Tonquani (Family Chalet). The chalet was absolutely comfortable, cozy and charming. I really liked the attention to details that was given to the decor which included African artifacts and Victorian style setting in the chalet. The location is fantastic. It takes less than 5 mins to reach the Knsyna Waterfront. Its located really close to the Friday Market as well. Brendon and his team are really helpful and are doing an absolutely fantastic job! Tonquani is truly a home away from home!

Excellent place to enjoy the beauty of Knysna
What a great find! We traveled with our 9 year old son and as soon as we arrived, the staff really welcomed us and had Christopher playing with the guinea pigs in the garden!The suite we had was fabulous - 2 seperate bedrooms, both ensuite, with a seperate lounge and kitchen and its own mini swimming pool - we couldn't have asked for more.The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional too. Wonderful.

Hotel is a short drive/long walk outside Knysna centre, Rooms are mainly cabins dispersed around the central pool/breakfast/reception area, in a gardened area with guinea pigs and the occasional visiting monkey and large bird. Owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. TV is great if you like sport, otherwise limited, but the reception has lots of DVDs for hire. Hotel does breakfast and snacks but not dinners, although I think a menu was available for deliveries from local take-aways. Reception closes at about 8pm although there is an telephone number on the reception door.

The perfect stay.....
We stayed at Tonquani for three nights in early January. A massive thank you to all the staff for the amazing service, great hospitality and making us feel so welcome. The lodges are amazing with all details covered, from candles and robes to BBQ (braai) gear including coal, firefighters. Excellent place to be situated to travel and explore the area and the wonderful places that are so close to the lodge. We managed to squeeze in the Knysna Elephant Park, Bloukrans bungee, Wild Cat Sanctuary, some amazing restaurants, and beautiful viewpoints in the three days and still left feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated. We have already booked up for this December to bring out my parents.

Freundliche Gastgeber in idyllischen Umgebung
Wir, 2 Erwachsene und 1 Kind (14) hatten für 3 Nächte eine Villa gebucht.Schon der Empfang war herzlich und das ging die 3 Tage so weiter. Man fühlt sich dort wie ein König. Das Frühstück, die hervorragende Massage und auch die Vorbereitung für unseren privaten Grillabend, alles wurde bis auf das Kleinste organisiert. Danke, wir kommen wieder!!

Tonquani lodge and spa- perfect accommodation
From the moment we arrived at the lodge we were taken care of. The staff were pleasant and helpful and very welcoming.the pool was great.. Breakfasts were really well-prepared and beautiful decor and murals on the walls, and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.. We were sorry we only had one night there.. Will definately be back there..

Tonquani lodge te Knysna
Fantastische lodge gelegen op ongeveer 4 kilometer vanaf het centrum van Knysna. Zeer vriendelijke ontvangst en ook de rest van het verblijf een grote mate van gastvrijheid. Lodge bestaat uit 11 verschillende woningen welke verdeeld zijn over het complex. Hoewel de woningen allemaal vlak bij elkaar liggen is de privacy volledig gewaarborgd.. Woningen zijn zeer compleet ingericht en beschikken o.a. over een ingerichte keuken en een ruim balkon. In de woningen ontbreekt het werkelijk aan niets en alles is keurig schoon. Een aantal woningen heeft de beschikking over een eigen jacuzzi en een aantal beschikt over een privé zwembad(je). De lodge beschikt verder over een keurig onderhouden zwembad met ligstoelen voor algemeen gebruik. V.w.b. het ontbijt heeft men de keuze uit een continental en een Engels ontbijt.

Knysna Tonquani enorme ruimte en prima comfort
We hadden geboekt voor 2 pp en kregen voor geen geld een compleet en prima ingericht en netjes huisje met eigen splash-pool 2x3 m2, eigen grasveldje, enorm balkon, kamer met open keuken 3.60x9 m2, 2 slaapkamers elk 2 pp en 2 badkamers, en uitstekend ontbijt. Rustig gelegen in het bos (apen in de buurt ook, ramen dicht bij vertrek!). Mogelijk kan gebrek aan uitzicht op de lagune als nadeel ervaren worden (maar wij troffen er zwaar bewolkt weer en dan maakt het niks uit). Ritje naar Knysna is nog geen 10 minuten.

Best Place to stay in Knysna - friendly, comfortable, cute, and great value"
We checked in on April 26th, 2010 for two nights. This hotel is amazing and we wanted to stay longer if our travel plans permitted. They have thought of everything from flower pedals spread all over the rooms, to free brandy to welcome you, to a box of free creature comforts (candles, bath oils, toiletries, electrical adapters, slippers, etc...) The staff are beyond friendly and helpful. The rooms are amazing. You have your own log cabin with a private bedroom (fantastic bed & comforter), large bathroom, kitchen, and living room. There is also a large deck to sit out on. The breakfast was great - hot food and continental available at your choice, all included in the price and plate service. The pool and grounds are lovely. It is like being in a tropical paradise. It is quiet and quaint. I highly recommend this lodge. It is close to the Knysna waterfront ( 2 min drive) and yet in a very safe area. There is free secure parking available. Internet access available for free. The spa is great - I had a massage and it was wonderful. Really, I can't say enough positive things about this place. The owner prides themselves on being the hotel that thinks of everything and it shows. They do as much possible to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. In terms of value for your money, this place was very affordable compared to other hotels in the area but in my opinion is one of the top hotels in Knysna. You will not be disappointed if you stay here!
