A cozy room, delicious food (try the Pigs on a Clothesline for breakfast!) and super friendly, helpful staff. We plan to return to L'Auberge again.

From check in to check out our stay was extremely good. Guest room was exactly as expected. Service in the restaurant for breakfast was good. Our bartender on the night of arrival was excellent. Very well versed on his stock and wine. Also very helpful on local fare and brewery’s.

A French inn nestled in the Shenandoah Valley
If you want total relaxation, a beautiful setting, great service and fantastic food visit L’Auberge Provençale in the Shenandoah Valley. You won’t be disappointed!

This is a hidden gem! Out in the country but only a ten minute drive to historic Winchester. You HAVE to stay here if you are anywhere near the area. The quiet location with views, beautifully kept and great service! The food is out of this world, that alone would make it a destination. Multiple specialty chefs working but the pastry chef can take down most French chefs in France! It is a 10

The Staff at the bed and breakfast is amazing, they go out of their way, and make you feel right at home, the owners are on site almost the whole time your are there. Celeste planned my daughtets wedding, and it was amazing. Allon gave me a personal explanation of Avignon, where his family started. Our whole experience was one I will never forget.

The room and other inside facilities were well-kept and reflected the B & B’s long history. The decorations were unique and eclectic. It was nice that there was a mini fridge and a coffee maker in the room. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous and perfectly maintained. It was a quiet and peaceful place to relax. The included breakfast, both in the dining room and room service, were tasty and a good portion. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. The only negative experience was with dinner at the on-site restaurant. Because I stayed over the weekend, I was required to have a dinner at their restaurant. Unfortunately, the dinner quality and taste did not live up to my expectations, my previous experiences at French restaurants or the restaurant’s own billing as the best restaurant in Northern Virginia. It definitely was not worth the cost of the meal, nor was it the best meal I had while I was in the area. I wish the dinner wasn’t required and I wouldn’t have had anything negative to say about my stay at all. I would absolutely recommend a stay at the B & B, but would not recommend the restaurant for dinner.

It was quite lovely to return to this enchanted place. It is lovely and the quality of those serving in the restaurant is impressive. They exhibit poise, grace and courtesy. As to the cuisine -- we tried several small appetizer dishes, a Salad Nicoise, followed by two desserts! Boozy Dark Chocolate Mousse, Apple Crepes with Rose Petal Ice cream. The Pigs on a Clothesline was presented with just the right amount of showmanship and calm while wielding a torch -- it was ridiculously tasty. Mussels were a nice adventure. Deviled Eggs with Caviar was luscious. Salad Nicoise? Worst of my life, a mish mash, drowning in too much dressing. But, the two desserts we had were a perfect ending to a lovely evening. So back to the charming Chagall room. It's near the end of April but suddenly yesterday the temperature dropped into the thirties, but in this Chagall Yellow room, it's cozy and warm. The fire is flickering and it's just a delightful experience overall -- everyone on the staff made us feel welcome and that they wanted to supply us with whatever in their power they could do to make us happy.

Stayed in the Van Gogh room for the fireplace. Could only burn duraflame log, no wood allowed. Furnishings were standard and seemed worn, many had scratches on them. Daily breakfast was delicious. Staff was lovely. Surprised to see a $15 /per day room service fee to have our breakfast in the room as the only other option was the patio (not at 35 degrees!).

To clarify, we do not charge a service fee for breakfast in the room, and we always serve breakfast in our dining room as well. We do charge room service fees for any extras that are delivered to the room, and you ordered a couple of those during your stay. Another wonderful getaway at L’Auberge Provencale!
l’Auberge Provencale is a hidden gem in the Shenandoah Valley. We come here for rest and relaxation and good food and we are never disappointed. The accommodations are fantastic and the staff and management are professional as well as personal.

L’Auberge Provençal is fantastique!
l’Auberge Provençal is absolutely fabulous from pool side relaxing to dining extraordinaire! The wait staff is the best we have ever experienced and we have traveled extensively. The rooms are extra spacious and we loved the steam shower. This is our second visit within a week and we hope to come back as often as we can, perhaps next week?

A wonderful and relaxing vacation
First time stay for us. Beautiful location and incredible food. Service was first class. And their wine list was extensive and sure to please any palette 😊 Rooms were clean and very comfortable. We will surely return when we visit the area next time.

Can’t wait to go back
My husband developed a serious food allergy to dairy and meat just days before our stay at L’Auberge Provencale. As breakfast was included in our stay and we had already made dinner reservations with them we weren’t sure how this would all play out. Upon arrival at the inn, we went to the Bistro to talk about the menu and dietary restrictions with one of the waitresses — just about 90 minutes before our dinner reservations. She poured over the menu with us and even brought the owner into the discussion. After narrowing down some options the chef joined us to confirm that he could make the necessary adjustments to the menu. When we arrived for dinner our server was already prepared for my husband’ needs and both our meals were amazing! The owner also worked us us to design the following day’s breakfast and made sure to speak with the chef for the following day’s breakfast. Again, the server was fully aware of my husband’s needs and the chief provided delicious substitutes. We never imagined that anyone would ever go to such lengths especially with so little notice! I cannot praise them enough! The inn was charming, the food delicious, and the staff were terrific in every aspect.

The gardens were beautiful and the bedroom was very comfortable - we particularly liked the steam shower after hiking! The breakfast was wonderful, but unfortunately the restaurant was closed during our stay, so we didn't get to try the acclaimed food there. The only drawback was the noise from the road outside the hotel, which was busier and louder than we expected.

We loved the food at this B&B! The place was noisier than expected. The location is off a busy road and there was music playing all night which made for a restless stay. There was only wait staff available in the morning so I did not have a chance to speak with management. The wait staff were amazing but it felt more like a restaurant with rooms attached.

The setting in an ideal location of the Shenandoah Valley. The B&B Inn has a five star restaurant which was perfect for a Valentine's Day celebration. Their special dinner was awesome. Each entrée was superbly prepared and delicious The Inn has an extensive wine selection to choose from. Definitely a property and restaurant to revisit. Our room was also warm and attractive as you would expect for a French country Inn.

Stay here for the food!
The room was very comfortable. Bed was also very comfortable. Not sure if this is true for all rooms but there were a lot of steps (step down to sitting room and bathroom, step up to the toilet). That is concerning for those with mobility issues. Restaurant was amazing!
