I enjoyed my short stay at the Winsor due to the very pleasant attitude of the staff who delt with me. The room & the facilities were very clean, i would certainly recommend the Winsor Hotel to any of my friends & famiily.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were generous in size, clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again and have no hesitation in recommending to others.

The room hadnt been cleaned, smashed mirror, stains around toilet and on bed clothes. Diety cup in sink. I didnt stay so i would like a refund please

Would not recommend the Windsor
The lady on the front desk was wonderful. Warm, friendly and helpful. All downhill from there. Key didn’t work in the door properly. The shower did not work properly, with all the water running out the hose instead of the shower head. The vanity basin drained very very slowly so it must be partially blocked. The lights were so dim it was hard to see or read in the room. Some maintenance, and upgrades to fittings is sorely needed. Won’t stay there again.

Basic but good
Super friendly staff, rooms warm, clean and comfortable. Breakfast hot, cooked on request, limited selection if you are fussy but plenty otherwise.only negatives were, general maintenance not kept up to, peeling wallpaper, seals around the bath etc needs renewing and lastly the cigarette ends immediately outside were never swept up in the time we were there, and didn't look as if they had been done for a while, so first impression not good. We would however stay again.

Great for the price so no complaints at all, pleasant staff and will use again when next heading to Newcastle as its only 15mins of great seaside roads away...the fish & chips nearby were bloody fantastic also👍

DO NOT STAY HERE
Worst stay ever... To start, at check in we were told the hotel was fully booked...LIE... Lift broken, so all us disabled individuals had to walk up the stairs with NO help. When we arrived at the rooms, all rooms were booked and co firmed as twin rooms, there were 3 family rooms, 1 tiny double room and 1 twin room. ALL rooms were filthy. One room had ripped curtains big stains on the carpet and to top it off a USED CONDON WAS JUST THROWN ON THE FLOOR outside one of the rooms. 1 room had a broken kettle, called reception to advise, a new on was brought uo. When we questioned the apparent assistant manager about the cleanliness of the room she saod ITS NOT MY HITRL and promptly left. Rrceotion didnt even know what rooms they had given us guests as i was called on my mobile asking ME to give them.room numbers of some guests... Terrible service. During the night, all that could be heard was drunk idiots running up and down the halls, banging on doors shouting and waking people up Next day we complained at reception but was told there was nothing they could do as the manager who was meant to be on duty did not show up!!! Skipped breakfast as if the main hotel was so dirty and disgusting, what would the breakfast be like. Disgusting hotel, disgusting staff behaviour... Refund rquest in on the way for the whole 5 rooms we booked... Personally, i think this is either a bail.hostel or a benefits hostel NOT a hotel.for regular guests...

Staff efficient and friendly. Room clean. Hotel a little dated but ideally located with the bonus of free safe parking. Been to the Windsor numerous times. Always a comfortable stay.

The hotel needs major renovation, but it’s evidently been a nice place. It was clean and comfortable for our weekend in the North East. Metro is close by and we’ll place for a day in town. Whitley itself has some nice spots and you can see the ongoing investment to return to former glory

Our room had not been cleaned before we arrived. We had to wipe some surfaces before we could put our things there. We found a worm on the bathroom floor. We stayed two nights and it was not cleaned during the time we were there either. The breakfast was simple, but prepared individually according to wishes. Very kind and friendly staff.

Nice hotel, close to the beach. parking was ok for us, but its limited. there is a nightclub opposite, that would have been annoying if we had to keep a window open. Please change the picture, as it has nothing to do with the hotel

Very Cheap hotel - chill out and stop complaining
Very cheap hotel, 50m from the sea, with free off road car parking. Yes it’s run down - but it cost less than a restaurant meal for 2 or a taxi ride. People need to take a chill pill - what do you expect for £42 on a Saturday night?

I do not recommend this hotel
Very rarely do I leave a review but hopefully this review will make the hotel up its game:- Bathroom not clean. Bedroom not clean. Beds uncomfortable. Housekeeping minimal. Kitchen staff unpleasant.

Excellent Hotel
Thoroughly enjoyed my two night stay, the hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from the Metro Station, 2 minutes walk from the seafront and handy for local bars and restaurants. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were all very friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Was comfortable enough. Reception staff friendly. Had a bath after GNR water was hot and filled quickly! Decor a bit tired, especially the carpet. Unfortunately there were rowdy people outside for a long time. My husband would recommend as a budget hotel to football friends!

We had to check out a day early
The only redeeming thing about this hotel is it’s staff and location. We unfortunately had to check out a day early due to the over whelming heat in the room. Staff could not have been more attentive and gave us several rooms to try but unfortunately, due to windows that only opened an inch and no air conditioning, every room was over 25 degrees and unbelievably stuffy. We ended up spending £50 on fans to bring back to the room, as the hotel didn’t have any, but this made little difference. Our poor dog didn’t sleep for the 2 night we stayed due to the unbearable heat. The staff were the saving grace of this hotel. They were polite, friendly and welcoming and couldn’t apologise enough for the temperature in the rooms and lack of things to help with this. The location was right on the beach front, were we spent most of our time due to the rooms being so unbelievably hot. The temperate outside for our entire stay never exceeded 15 degrees but the rooms were nearly 10 degrees above this. Would not recommend this hotel if you were hoping for a relaxing stay but want to highlight again how amazing the staff were throughout.

Ultimately this hotel is what it is! Don’t expect the Ritz (after all you’re not paying a lot for it) Typical seaside town hotel. Very dated and tired but perfectly acceptable Situated opposite a busy nightclub which if that’s not your thing will cause issues. Staff we friendly and breakfast was lovely
