Thank you for staying with us. To further explain, as stated in the policies when you first booked the room, yes, a 50 damage deposit is authorized to your card when you check-in. This is not an unusual practice in the hotel business. This authorization is released the day you check-out, providing there are no damages incurred. Once we release those funds, it could take 3-5 days for your bank to release that 50 hold.

Thank you for your feedback. We are saddened to hear that you did not enjoy your two-day stay with us. Yes, we are a dually branded hotel. It can be a bit confusing at first, but it is nice to be able to offer different room styles to meet guest needs. There are several chains that are now switching to dually branded options. Hawthorn Suites is designed for extended stay with kitchen areas, and Wingate is designed for those who don’t need the option of a kitchen area. I am sorry to hear that you felt our renovations were not up to your standard. Some damage has been done to what was accomplished during our full renovation that we are constantly working on repairing. In that particular room, there are two smaller-than-a-dime size set-in stains on the top side of the tub wall that we have thus far been unable to remove with any cleaning supplies. In regards to breakfast, our eggs are not powdered. They are real eggs in liquid form that have an advantage over raw eggs in that they are pasteurized to reduce the risk of foodborne illnesses. For your safety, we have a deadbolt, bar latch, and peephole on every guest room door, and all our side and back exterior doors require keys for access. Again, we thank you for letting us know of your disappointment so that we know where improvement is needed.

I hope you let our front desk know so they could change to input to HDMI instead of TV. Our room inspector has been reminded to more consistently check TV function when verifying room readiness.

We apologize that all was not up to par for your stay. The shower valve handle, the tub spout, and the pop-up stopper in the sink has now been repaired. We are sorry that this was not fixed prior to your stay and have strongly reminded our cleaning staff that these kinds of problems need to be reported immediately so that a guest is not the one to experience it. Our front desk staff have also been reminded that a room move needs offered when a guest reports issues. Thank you for your review so that we could get these items fixed.

Thank you for letting us know. The men in the parking lot are students at a nearby technical school. We appreciate that they don't all hang out together in a room with the potential of disturbing occupants of other rooms, but we will talk to them about using our lobby instead of our parking lot. We apologize for the alarms. There was one smoke detector among the many near our event space so it kept triggering the system since it was not working properly. We have learned from this incident to prevent it happening again. Thanks also for letting us know that your room was not up to par. This will be addressed with the person responsible for inspecting our rooms. Mistakes can happen, but we are supposed to catch the mistakes before a guest does. Again, thank you for your feedback.

We apologize for the inconvenience of a room move. We did not want to further delay you from going to sleep by having to wait on someone to come fix it. We will remind our room attendants to let us know if there is ever anything that does not seem to be working right so that we either fix it prior to renting the room or remove the room from market. If you come this way again, please request an upper floor. The drop ceiling in the 1st floor hallway is lower than other floors in order to cover wiring and ductwork. Our guestrooms all have 9-10 foot ceilings, but we can understand how the low hallway ceiling on that first floor can be off-putting. Thank you for letting us know about the shower faucet. We will be sure to go fix that.
