Room was clean but you could tell the room had signs of ware and tear. However worse thing was not fridge in room or access to drinking water except the bathroom sink and no cups for water

Staff were very friendly and understanding and allowed us a refund, but we arrived after several hours on a train only to leave after five minutes because the room smelt like urine so badly it was probably a health hazard. There is no toilet in the room, so someone may have been urinating in the sink or around the room and causing it to have such a potent smell that may not go away, despite the room looking tidy.

This was a bad night for us. There was no blanket as we felt cold at the end of night. Sink was blocked and there was no soap in the toilet. Wouldn’t recommend anyone

The room had and smelt of mould, no sound proofing of the rooms at all, we could hear every door opening and closing throughout the night. The whole hotel and rooms are in desperate need of maintenance. It was just a bed and no other service or amenities provided, ie no kettle, no empty of rubbish and no make up of bedding. However if you’re just after a cheap bed next to a train station, this is exactly it.

I like the room,but while I was not vacant at my room during the day from times that I had left someone would enter and leave a towel but would have also been good arrangement of they called to ask their customers if they would like a ice and water in a jug present at their room for their return from the day out.

The room nothing like the image.it wasnt clean there was hairs on the pillow and the hot water didnt work. I had a really bad experience.

Room was spacious and the restaurant attached to the pub served excellent fresh meals that were reasonably priced.

Hotel was great place to kick back and have a few drinks. Rooms were cosy and comfortable. The only thing that I would recommend the hotel looks into is coffee making facilities in each hotel room but other than that, we really enjoyed our stay.

DISGRACEFUL SERVICE FROM BEGINNING TO END
Manager was arrogant. We are pensioner with very limited budget. We booked a couple room. We only got one towel and a bathmat. No cups, no water or glasses. Cockroaches running under the bed, bathroom has not been retiled in years and tiles are disgusting and old. Drawers were disgusting. Smelled.. Dirty inside drawers and had not been cleaned in years. The charity stores would not take their furniture it is that disgusting and old. No pictures on walls. cold damp and uninviting. Wardrobe to hang clothes just not acceptable. filthy dirty old wire hangers. No offer of a restaurant or counter meal as we arrived late. Very unhospital place. After a couple of hours we left and booked a place with friendly staff just down the road a little. WE WILL NOT BE USING YOUR AGENCY EVER AGAIN. We have a policy now if we cannot speak to someone to book our rooms or holiday requirements then NO BOOKING NO MONEY.

The good is that the bed was really nice and clean. So was the shared bathroom. Each staff remember I worked with was very nice and professional. The bad is that the carpet and chairs in room were not that clean. We also had a broken window that didn’t close. There is free WiFi, but it’s not immediately obvious how to use it. Make sure to both ask for the WiFi PW and how to log on.

We booked a room for my mother to stay in but when we arrived we realised it was not going to be accessible for her so we returned the keys immediately. The manager didn't even have the decency to respond to my email regarding our situation.

No hot water and rat in the room
Disgusting place. There were cockroaches in the room. Was suppose to have a private bathroom. But is was a filthy shared bathroom with a used tampon in shower cubical. And no hot water. I checked out within ten minutes.

Room was clean, staff were friendly. Need to ask for wifi, good speed. Excellent temperature control. Bed, cupboard, desk, ensuite in my room. No chair, fridge, microwave, or glassware. 3 minute walk to train station.

Kind of OK but not great :(
I understand that it is a very inexpensive hotel. At similar price, I would much prefer the ibis budget chain. The bistro at the hotel was nothing fancy, but extremely nice food, incredible value though.
