Good Afternoon Roberta, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent experience at the beautiful Salt Fork State Park. We were delighted to hear you found our team wonderful but must apologize for the issues encountered in your room and with your breakfast. Our lodge is coming up on its 50th anniversary next year and it is definitely beginning to show it's age. With that said, I'm happy to tell you we've completed several large-scale projects (e.g. new lodge roof, life-safety system, lodge-room doors, lock system, bedding packages and PTACs) and have many more on the horizon for 2022. Our goal is to keep Salt Fork Lodge and Conference Center the go-to destination it has become for the record-setting number of guests we were able to welcome this year for another 50 years. It seems we dropped the ball with your breakfast experience and I am sorry. It sounds like our team was able to take care of the situation, but I would like you to know that our F&B team employs a very high standard of safety and cleaning practices - I'm not sure how these issues happened, but we will be looking into it and making sure they do not happen again. Each one of our 148 guest rooms received state-of-the-art PTACs (packaged terminal air conditioners) this spring. Please know that if you ever have any issues, we have team members on site 24/7 who are ready and willing to help. Good Morning Sandra, While we would like to thank you for your patronage over your years, we must apologize for letting you down during your recent visit. We have faced some monumental staffing hurdles this year, but the team that we do have is giving 110% to ensure our guests have an enjoyable experience. Nearly all of our bathroom light fixtures are the same as they have always been, except for those that have been upgraded to LED. Please know that our property is staffed 24/7 and we would have gladly brought you a replacement hair dryer. Our dining options are currently limited and we've done our best to keep guests apprised of that. The cooks in questions did not quit mid-shift but we're only scheduled until 8 p.m. After that time, we were only offering pizzas and subs. We have one vending machine with snacks, that is checked periodically, and soda vending machines on each floor of the guest wings, as well as snacks that our available in the gift shop which is open 24/7. I am sorry that we missed the mark during your visit and I am confident your return trip will be vastly better. Have a wonderful day!

Good Afternoon, Please allow me to apologize for our team not following up sooner. We were sold out this weekend and, while not an excuse, spread very thin. Please know if you ever have any issues with cleanliness, we have team members on site 24/7 that will correct any oversights that may have been made. We are currently in the process of updating our lodge-room bathrooms - we've completed about 1/4 thus far. Our pool trash is checked periodically throughout the day; however, as busy as we've been, its been hard to keep up with at times. We run a pool vacuum, with a suction rate of 9,000 GPH, every night for 8 hours; normally, it does an amazing job but as the leaves are beginning to fall, it can look unkept at times. Due to our increase in occupancy, our restaurant has had abnormally long wait times - I am sorry. The complimentary coffee, by the front desk, is kept full whenever the restaurant isn't open, but It takes approximately ten minutes to refill the carafes. We are diligently working to ramp up our staffing which sill subsequently alleviate many of the issues you encountered. Once again, I am sorry for our shortcomings during your visit, but I am confident, if you return, your experience would be vastly better. Have a great day!

Our lodge will be celebrating its 50th anniversary next year and is starting to show its age in many places. With that said, I'm happy to tell you many renovations have been completed and many more are on the way that will help blend the rustic feel of the lodge with a more modern aesthetic. The indoor and outdoor pools both are big draws to the lodge, as well as the Salt Fork beach which is the largest inland beach in the state of Ohio. Good Afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review of your recent visit to Salt Fork. I was happy to hear you enjoyed your time here, but I must apologize for letting you down with the condition of your room and for the problems we were encountering with our outdoor pool boiler. Our room are considered rustic, but there is no reason for the lack of cleanliness in your bathroom. I'm not sure how we messed up, but I will find out and make sure it doesn't happen moving forward. There have been many improvements made at the lodge over the last year or so and we have many more on the horizon that will help with address some of the datedness at the lodge. Our outdoor pool boiler was down for a couple days and parts had to be ordered - I am sorry you weren't able to enjoy it as much as you would have liked. However, we were able to get it up and running for the Fourth of July. Part of our COVID protocols that are still in place have us handing out pool towels at the outdoor pool entry and at the front desk for the indoor pool. You should have received an information sheet, regarding those protocols, at check in - I am sorry if you did not. On a brighter note, I was happy to hear that you enjoyed your patio and found the beds comfortable. Our rooms offer either a patio walk out or a balcony. We recently received new bedding packages for all 148 of our lodge rooms. I do hope you will change your mind about returning, as I'm confident, if you stayed again, it would be vastly better. Good Afternoon Richard, Thank you for the 10/10 rating and giving a synopsis of our property! We are conveniently located right off of interstates 70 and 77 but once you arrive, you'll feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. While all of the Ohio State Parks make for a great getaway, Salt Fork boasts over 17,000 acres of land and just under 3,000 acres of water. This, coupled with the many activities and amenities we offer, makes our property one of the premier in the state.
